I recently made an aasimar paladinfor my friend's Serpent's Skull game, and was curious as to which, if any multiclass or prestige class options would be good. Classic sword and board right now, and his deity is Iomedae. I was thinking maybe sprinkling bard in there, using the hymns of the Inheritor to inspire my comerades, and maybe the Inheritor's Crusader Prc. Thoughts? Also, mount or bonded sword?

*Min/Max advice.
One popular multi-class is the Lore oracle's Sidestep Secret. Which allows you to use your Cha in place of Dex for armor. (Or the nature oracle's version.)
Take that and you can end up with a ton of AC.
Lore and nature are not domains of Iomedae, and though Oracles devote themselves to aspects of deities, if I were to go that route, (now I'm thinking about it) I would choose Iomedae's domains.

my suggestion without revealing too much about what is to come in the AP hopefully. heavy armor classes are going to have a bit of a rough time in that AP so anything that may help you get your AC up and drop armor check penalty will deffinately be pretty helpful. as far as multiclassing Oracle is fantastic for paladins although your bard idea probably isnt too bad either thinking about it
as far as warrior of holy light i wouldent say take it. your only going to get to aroud level 15 - 16 (unless your friend descided to continue after the AP is over) so some of the better benefits you gain just wont become available to you and giving up all of your palladin spells for 2 lay on hands per day just seems like its crippling.

The Oracle class' shtick fluff-wise is that some deity (or a group of them) randomly gifted the individual with some divine power. He can still serve as a Paladin of Iomedae, but just happens to have gotten some extra boosting from someone else, possibly Abadar or Erastil (not sure which mystery belonged to which deity) if the Oracle idea still holds appeal. Also, any interest in the Sacred Servant archetype? For prestige classes, I have Divine Scion and Holy Vindicator in mind.

And I just thought of an additional question: How worth it is the Warior of Holy Light Archetype?
Not at all. Spellcasting is pretty awesome so giving it up for so little is a mistake. (The Shining Knight archetype is pretty awesome, but you're not small sized... your mount will just get in the way)

I already thought about the heavy armor bit from reading the fighter entry in the player's guide, so he's wearing a chain shirt. I really like the idea of the paladin/bard, moreso than the oracle, but I appreciate the input on that.

I'm having fun with my Paladin/Shadowdancer.
Nobody expects a Paladin to have a Stealth skill of +17 in a breastplate. Or for them to pick locks. ("Law abiding people lose their keys too, you know.")
How the heck did you manage to qualify for that combo?
Even more curiously, how did you find a DM awesome enough to approve of your build?

Her build, and her accounts of her Pathfinder Society missions are here.
She's currently stuck in the Plane of Shadow, trying to find a way to bargain for a portal transfer back to the Material Plane. (This is something I worked out with my usual GM, deliberately missing part of a module he's running so she can be rescued from the Plane of Shadow in the second part of the module).
It wasn't until she was 5th level that she actually killed another foe; the vast majority of the charges on her wand of Cure Light Wounds, and more than half of her uses of Lay on Hands, were used to stabilize/heal enemies that she'd put into negatives.
Followed by having a nice discussion about how they've been given a chance to redeem themselves, rather than be sent off to the Boneyards.
As to the mechanical aspect of the build...
Human
Traits: Armor Training (-1 to ACP), Vagabond Child (gives Disable Device as class skill, +1 to it, and +1 to Sleight of Hand.)
Paladin 1: Power Attack, Combat Reflexes; favored class to skill point put in Perform (dance), 1 rank in Stealth.
Paladin 2: favored class in skill point, put in Perform (dance), 1 rank in Stealth
Paladin 3: Dodge, favored class to HPs, 1 rank in Stealth
Paladin 4: Favored class to HPs, 1 rank in Stealth
Paladin 5: Mobility, favored class to HPs, 1 rank in Stealth.
Shadowdancer 1: 1 rank to Stealth, stealth becomes Class Skill, she bought the Shadow enhancement for her armor. 6 more skill ranks spent, many on Perception. Gained Hide in Plain Sight.

I thought you had to pick whether or not your favored class bonus was hp or skill points and stick with it?
There was this confusion for awhile. (PFS, about everyone in our region made this mistake. Wasn't anyone's fault, we just all didn't know.)
Each character begins play with a single favored class of his choosing—typically, this is the same class as the one he chooses at 1st level. Whenever a character gains a level in his favored class, he receives either + 1 hit point or + 1 skill rank. The choice of favored class cannot be changed once the character is created, and the choice of gaining a hit point or a skill rank each time a character gains a level (including his first level) cannot be changed once made for a particular level. Prestige classes (see Prestige Classes) can never be a favored class.
In better english, you only get one favored class, and once chosen, you CANNOT change it.
When you gain levels, you get either the choice of +1 hit point, +1 skill rank, or whatever favored class bonuses you can get. However, you cannot change that choice for that particular level (So if you pick +1 HP, you can't just decide "I want it to be +1 skill rank now.")
So long story short, yup:
1st level human paladin could have +1 HP.
2nd level +1 HP
3rd +1 Skill rank
4th +1 to paladin's energy resistance of one energy (APG)
On that note, some people tend to just pick one bonus and stick with it.
