What are the other players playing?
If you need melee - the summoner/syntesist is broken beyond belief.
a battle oracle is great as a secondary melee char - but don't expect him to tank alone...
How many players - I would waste my time with a bard without a few melee chars that might benefir from your buffs.
Sorcs - a full arcane caster is always powerfull, and starting a lvl 10 means you don't have to play thoseu sucky first levels when you run out of spells after the first encounter, are didn't do anything because you would rather save your spell for something important...
It really depends on what you feel like playing.
Word or power system should hit everyone the same way - but a battle oracle or syntesist aren't that concerned about word of power spells compared to a sorc...

Then why did the DM decide to use that rule system?
Goes with the story behind his world.
Let the GM make his own characters and play the game alone.
I offered to help him with house rule mechanics for his world, to do that we need to play test the system to see if it fits for the story.
So what don't you like about spontaneous casters? Bards, summoners, and oracles can all be built to emphasize the martial rather than the caster side of things if that's what you prefer.
Mostly i like wizards over sorcs just simple because I prefer the prepared system over the spontaneous. Just personal preference, not that big of deal.

i have an idea.
how about a Loli Aasimaar inquisitor of Lamashtu whom is so oblivious she thinks she is a cleric of Sarenrae? it sounds fun and is completely ridiculous and entertaining in concept. she is so crazy she thinks she is doing the dawnflower's will when she is doing that of Lamashtu. build yourself up to the dervish dance line and remember to take some of the expected healing powers.
it's a little suboptimal, but it sounds fun doesn't it?

Completely inappropriate, the DM has the right to allow or disallow classes as he sees fit.
Some fun character ideas:
A Summoner who has an "inappropriate relationship" with his succubus-like eidolon
An Inquisitor of Shelyn, who goes around battling those who would destroy beautiful things
A Sorcerer who tries to hide his magical powers, but they keep on manifesting 'spontaneously'

My roommate is diffidently doing a bard now..
I really do like Dogwood idea for the Inquisitor...
that seems really interesting...
There is no gods in the world, just aspects of the forged, so worshiping beutie would be ok.
Any more role play ideas and general build ideas for them would be awesome...

The thing I'm worried about is Lamashtu. Would she really accept such a person among her followers?

Even if no other character ever makes attack rolls or summons things that do so bard is probably the best non-cheese DPR out of the group. Inspire courage is a hair behind clerical self buffs at higher levels, but bards get arcane strike.
Of course anything well played with summoner in the name is going to make everyone else feel like the BMX Bandit.

Lamashtu would merely have to lie to the individual and disguise herself as the dawnflower to manipulate the poor girl and feed her madness in her favor. stuff any mad individual can easily do. it's stealth madness.

Speaking of a Summoner with an "inappropriate relationship" - one member of our group has a female gnome summoner (you might describe as "child-like" in appearance) with a full adult male (medium height) sidhe "boyfriend" eidolon that she summons. It's very ... inappropriate.

I approve.
Very Slaanesh.

I'm a big fan of the Crossblooded blasty sorc with Orc and Draconic bloodlines. You can get away with 1 blasty word per spell level, swapping elements along the way, and do just fine.
Remember: Lock Ward is the best Effect Word in the game. There is no better Effect Word once you can combine Effects. It's Brew Potion, but works on Effects up to 7th level.
Metawords: Lengthy, Irresistable. Lengthy is essential for the level 2 kill spell (Lengthy Selected Corrosive Bolt)
Metamagic Feats: Intensified + whatever else you want. Extend and Reach can be good (virtually all your base spells are close range).

This is generally better done on the Wizard rather than the Sorcerer.
Taking crossblooded means you wait an extra level before getting a new level of spells known. You still get those higher level spell slots which you can use for lower level spells or metamagicked spells but waiting until level 5 to get your first level 2 spell is pretty awful.

OP is starting at level 10. Not seeing a problem here.
Edit: Also, keep in mind that the level dip loses a caster level and isn't campaign relevant. OP can get Varisian Tattoo in his starting line-up and be one of the blastiest sorcs around.

You are a level 10 sorcerer with no access to 5 level spells known. You have slots to go all Dazing Fireball (with Magical Lineage) if you want to but the small amount of extra damage is not worth delaying access to higher level spells.

This is using Words of Power. Your arguments about standard casting are worthless. I can assure you, as long as you have spell slots, WoP will give you plenty of room to run without up-to-date Effects.
Keep in mind, this is the system that has a 40d4 damage spell that you can normally cast in a 3rd level slot, or 2nd level with Magical Lineage.
