Yeah, you'll probably either want to be a Magus or a Bard, or you'll want to move from Sorcerer into a prestige class like Eldritch Knight, Arcane Trickster, or Arcane Archer.
No Sorcerer archetypes will change the BAB on the class.
you could multiclass between sorc and a full BAB class and once you qualify become dragon diciple.
Alchemist, Summoner, or any of the divine casters are also medium BAB. Alchemist is probably the best self-buff dip of those I've mentioned.

I second Dragon Disciple, but really only if you choose the Draconic bloodline. Otherwise, you can dip one level into a Cavalier, Paladin, Fighter, or Ranger for proficiency in all martial weapons, then go Eldritch Knight.
I think you have to choose the Draconic Bloodline to be a Dragon Disciple.
At least, that's how I would rule it in my game.
You could even dip 1 level magus to get the martial weapons.
