How much is Catnip?

Rules Questions

It came up.

It's a common enough herb, and grows easily without much care. It's also easy to find, and straightforward to recognize. And since it has medicinal uses, it should be readily available.

Were you looking for dried catnip, fresh leaves or a whole plant?

Based on a survey of wheat and catnip prices by the pound, and the fact that wheat is 1 cp per pound, I'd say 1 sp is fair. No biggie.

Good points, VRMH.

Medicinal uses might drive the price up even if it makes it more common. I should have mentioned my proposed price is dried catnip.

Per Ultimate Equipment, mint and oregano are 5 sp a lb (which is a MASSIVE amount). Catnip is in the same family as those two plants and grows in similar areas and as easily, and is about as equally medicinally valuable, so the pricing would probably be the same (or similar enough to be the same for mechanical purposes).

So how would to effect cat creature?

Everything you ever wanted to know about Catnip, and more.

I would give at least a +2 circumstance bonus in Handle Animal and Wild Empathy checks to any Big or Small Cat (lion, tiger
cheetah, leopard, house cat, etc...).

Just note that only 3/4 of all cats actually respond to catnip, the other 1/4 look at the rest of the cats and go WTF?

One of my 3 cats isn't into catnip, and looks at the other two like they've lost their minds when we bring it home.

Also, immature cats are not affected either (so dire kittens ignore it).
