So, does "you can deflect one melee weapon attack" means that this does not work against unharmed attacks? what about natural weapons such as claws?

Natural weapons are weapons, so are unarmed strikes. Both can be deflected.

So why not simply saying "melee attack"?

I would agree with Dabbler. An unarmed strike is listed on the weapons table, and "natural weapon" actually has the word weapon in it. I would presume the addition of the word weapon there is to indicate that it will not work against melee touch attacks.

Please note, that is just my two copper.

Why make it easy? More likely the wording has been changed and edited several times prior to publication.

Ok, thanks guys!

Basically, it's Deflect Arrows, for melee attacks.

That's it.

Note that is says melee weapon attack and therefore excludes melee touch attacks.

Another question: can I use Crane style and crane wing while using a buckler?

Indeed - in fact trying to deflect a melee touch attack would probably make it an automatic success, as to succeed you merely have to touch your target, and when you deflect an attack you touch it to deflect it.

Your hand has to be free. It does not say that nothing can be attached to your arm.

I usually consider gaining the AC bonus from a buckler a used hand, as the buckler text says using that hand for a weapon means you can't get the AC benefit from it: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/armor/buckler

Holy necro, Batman!

Liberty's Edge

Sorry...even more necroing, but was it ever decided if you could use crane wing with a main hand weapon and buckler in off hand or not.

I note from the FAQ errata on the side of:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/slashing-grace-combat

that you can use slashing grace with a buckler because the buckler doesn't "occupy the hand".

Thanks for any clarification.

This feat has been through several errata. It now says "melee attack", and I believe it can be used to deflect touch attacks.

Regarding bucklers I think the tougher question is whether you'd lose the buckler's shield bonus to AC. RAW I don't think that would be a problem though I wouldn't be surprised to see some DMs take it away.

My Crane Wing PC solves this problem by using a buckler in one hand and nothing in the other. He mostly just Bites people.
