Archdruids and Great Druids in Paths of Prestige

Grand Lodge

So I just went through the Paths of Prestige and I have a player who wants to go Green Faith Acolyte. The class is a good one but she presented a valid question: What do the Archdruid and Great Druid abilities grant you?

RAW all you get is a fancy title after a contest of wills, some responsibilities and that's it. You technically also rule over an area of a great forest (or wilderness) or just a smaller wild area. That's it though. Nothing more or less.

I've looked through the Faction Guide and the Inner Sea World Guide and I get nothing. Help?

You also get extra spell slots that are pretty flexible in how you use them.

Grand Druid gets you extra spells. I think that Archdruid and Great Druid just give you bragging rights.

that's how I see it, they're just things that are there to make you 1: the most badass druid in the area and 2: able to get to level 9+10 respectively.

If you're willing to do the work and potentially change the campaign in major ways they can give a lot more than that. There are no mechanical benefits but suddenly the character is the face/leader for all the tree huggers and all the "we love wilderness" types.

If you go that route he's fairly likely to form the focus of the campaign. As long as the rest of the players are happy with that it could work out wonderfully. Suddenly the campaign is only peripherally about dungeon crawling or saving the city (or whatever), now its all about EcoPolitics in the kingdom.

A lot of the prestige classes in the book are kind of like that (at least at the higher levels). They're the kind of things that a campaign can easily be centered around.
