Summoning Monsters and Falling Objects question?

Rules Questions

Okay, lets say I'm a level 1 sorcerer and I have the Mount spell:

MOUNT
School conjuration (summoning); Level sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 round
Components V, S, M (a bit of horse hair)
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect one mount
Duration 2 hours/level (D)
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
You summon a light horse or a pony (your choice) to serve you as a mount. The steed serves willingly and well. The mount comes with a bit and bridle and a riding saddle.

My question is this: is it possible for me to summon my mount above an enemy's head (lets say 15 feet or so), so when it manifests it actually falls down on top of the enemy (which causes both the mount and enemy to take falling damage).

Again, just a curious question, but it seems diabolically fun.

No, you can't summon creatures without a surface to support them. Check the Conjuration entry.

A panicked mount bounceing down dungeon corridors is a sight to behold.

If you want to be that guy, it's a summon just command it to attack.

Now, what you -can- do is use Spiderclimb to get the large creature up the side of a tower and have them jump off.

Which will work fine as long as you use an action to handle animal it. And it has the attack trick.

So...... you need handle animal and the attack trick to get all of the "summon monster #" anamals to attack???

Nahh, Me thinks not.

Just the normal riding horse summoned by mount.

I have used a Mount spell to stop a rolling boulder headed towards our party like the one in Indiana Jones. The mount went poof after it died... but it stopped the forward movement of the boulder.

Hmmmm, while I applaud your creative thinking Dragonamedrake, I have to question the physics of stopping a multi-ton boulder with god knows how much inertia with a half ton horse. Oh wait, PF is a game that is not based on physics. Silly me. :) Hehehe

Haha... I applaud non-combat uses for Summon spells though...

Back in 2nd Edition I onced summoned a brownie (not the tasty kind) the wood sprite kind to help us find our lost Cleric and Ranger that was tied up by a Green Dragon in the Forest. (The Cleric and Ranger ran into a Nymph... who disroped infront of them (forcing a Save vs Die), the Cleric (who was just a random person from the Dundracon) declared that an attack and pulled out his Mace+5 and bashed her skull instantly... so all the forest Fey creatures attacked and offered the Cleric and poor Ranger (who did nothing) as Dragon Food.

We eventually found the Cleric and Ranger.... but the Dragon ate the Ranger First (chewed him up as he did the Breathe Weapon... I never seen a Dm ask for so many saving throws in one round before... RANGER WAS GOO but we did kill the Dragon...

as a side note.. the DM was sort of buddy buddy with the Cleric and the Cleric had Full BreastPlate+5 of Dragon kind with super duper AC even when sleeping... the Cleric was impossible to kill...

Later on I teleported back to the Temple to get our Ranger revived..along with the unkillable Cleric.... only to role 99 percentile (5th level Teleport was not 100 percent all the time)...

I teleported 15 feet inside the Temple WALLS... killing myself, the Ranger was already dead (Goo), and the unkillable Cleric instantly... The Person playing the Cleric was pissed off... but my other friend at the table (dead Ranger) were LOLOLOLOL

I was making a joke Lord Tsarkon. My bad, I shouldnt make jokes. :D

BTW, I like non-combat uses for summon too.

Alright here is an interesting question.

Lets say you have a 20th level Summoner in a party. You and your friends just capped off a dungeon run and your all having a good time in your favorite Inn. The local bard gets sick and leaves.

You use your summon ability to get a Trumpet Archon (Perform (wind instruments) +20) to keep the party going. From an RP standpoint ... does the Trumpet Archon get upset he is summoned to Perform instead of for combat?

That depends on how raunchy the party is, I believe.
