What do you want on your spaceship?

If you had a Firefly or Millenium Falcon-sized space ship, what would you want on it?

I'm figuring you would need a cockpit, engine room, crew dorms, galley, head, and cargo deck.

Nice amenities would be a machine shop, player piano, hydroponics for fruits and vegetables, mess hall, infirmatory, and kennel.

Any other ideas?

Dinosaurs!

Greg

I would only want one thing. Cosmic Cube.

Lantern Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure, Rulebook Subscriber

Wykkyd Graphics and a Boss Spoiler!

Above all else? Smuggling compartments with EVA suits in 'em. Hiding stuff/people onboard and patching the hull are two things you always end up needing to do.

Need a shuttle for excursions, need your "surprise I'm actually armed" one-shot weapon, probably an expensive nuke mine. Decoys are a good idea.

And finally, an expensive cache of "the good stuff" for after a successful mission or right before a suicide mission.

Landing gear.

Scarab Sages

Engines, power system and shields from the Ship in Stargate Universe.

Replicators, transporters and holo systems from Voyager (including at least one engineer, a holo designer and a doctor).

Medical bay with bio-technology/cybernetics equal to the Edinists in the Night's Dawn trilogy.

Basic living quarters, cockpit, and maintenance facilities.

On it, I would want the blood of my enemies, and the praise of my followers (in heaps.)

.

Intimate knowledge of the ship's layout, a personal extravehicular suit, and a cordless drill with titanium drill bit... just in case.

This is for an upcoming d20 Firefly campaign.

Oh, and the number to a good kebab take out place, in case Dave Lister is in the crew.

No holograms, though. They're all a bunch of miserable smegs.

Lasers, photon torpedos and shields.

Then a replicator and holodeck.

A good computer to run the offenses and defenses while I hang in the holodeck.

A holosuite and some of Quark's "special" holo-programs.

The Exchange

No one yet has mentioned GreenSkinned slave girls for shame.

What, no self-destruct mechanism? Not even a fake one for bluffing? For shame.

Notice how no one said a gym either?

I want a reverse-phase plasma-converter, a Heisenberg compensator, and a very efficient compartmentalised flow calibrator. I also want green-skinned slave girls.

Taking care of those things is what the wookie is for.

An escape pod.

Access to the galactic internet.

And a filler episode firewall for the holodeck.

Seriously, where the hell do people on these shows go to the bathroom?

I have holo projectors. One of my requested holograms is a hologram designer. I get the girls as a by-product.

I also get the maintenance team, bridge crew and anything else I need in terms of personel.

Note, I'm asking for holo-projecteors, not a holo-deck. I'm thinking more in line with the USS Prometheus.

Omega-13.

A little red button hidden deep within the ship...that crew nor designers have any clue as too it's function.

Extradimensional space. The ship should be bigger on the inside than the outside.

An extra bulkhead layer - Darn decompressions.

Spare fire extinguishers, seen too many ships venting into space because of fire and really that's not for me.

The blood of Firefly/Serenity fans splattered decoratively across the hull.

I'm hoping not for the same reason, but hey, whatver you're into. No judgement here. Well, that's not true, but I'll keep it all inside out of courtesy.

A bed.

crew quarters
captain's cabin
galley/mess
life support, incl air/water/waste recyclers
engineering/drive
fire control center/gunnery (probably not in this size ship, but maybe if it's heavily armed)
cargo hold
secret cargo hold
bridge
communications/scanners
med bay/infirmary
machine shop
science lab (could be combined with machine shop, med bay, engineering, or communications, depending on the science)
gravity generators!
heads (bathrooms on a ship)
weapons and shields
probably not a shuttle bay since a small ship can land already
possibly a skiff (like a shuttle, but smaller, doubles as escape craft)
stealth system!
Dr. Liara T'Soni

battlesuit storage and capsule launchers (a la Starship Troopers, the book, not the movie. Death from above!)

Another way of asking the question would be, what's your favorite feature on a fictional starship?

The Consul's yacht in Hyperion had an antique Steinway grand. Like a boss.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. This is an inspiration thread for a d20 Firefly campaign. I was already going to include an old-timey player piano.

And maybe a jacuzi.

And a hovercraft that can carry more than 4 people.

:-P

Maybe some cool stuff in here.

Someone's gotta drive the ship while I'm talking to Amy.

Nice save.

At least two backup copies of all software used on the ship as well as a copy of the original blueprints with a new copy showing any changes that have occured.

Oh!!! And a copy of the service manuals for the ship and a learning program to teach me whatever I need to know to pilot, navigate, use, and repair anything on that ship.

Each crewmember should have two spacesuits. One in their quarters that should be easy to get into and another one at their workplace or by the airlock.

So you plan on talking to Amy but kissing the wookie?

And each crew and passenger quarters should be airtight, just in case the ship gets hulled. The ship should be compartmentaizied so any hull breach should not cause the whole ship to loose air.

A service droid or 5.
