Werewolves

Homebrew and House Rules

wanting to add a werewolf template to a person but not make them evil. kinda like the underworld where its controllable. is it possible??

the Wolfshifter class? Its lycantrophy meets a barbarian and in a class format, I like the class and its good for the Ulfen berserker with lycan blood flowing in his veins and good for those pesky kellids inhabiting the Lands of the Mammoth Lords who have very vibrant lycan heritage.

Also werewolves dont always have to be evil, there are cases of neutral werewolves who do have control of their shifting.

what book is the wolfshifter in?? i would looooove to see it

Wayfinder #5 I believe

Lycanthropy types push you in a direction, but there is nothing saying you can't change it.

As an example, the asswere of 2nd ed, which I reintroduced into my game is CN. Now a lawful good knight got infected. So we run it that when he has changed his alignment goes to chaotic, irritable and strange and his knight abilities are mostly disabled. Then when he is back in control, back to LG.

If you're talking about adding the template to a character then yes, as long as they're being born with it. If you're talking about them getting bitten then not so much.
However, FR had a whole bunch of good aligned werewolves. They worshipped Selune. I think there's also something about being intentionally bitten although I might just be confused because of baldur's gate.
I think there was also a skill (control form?) that helped but I'm not familiar with the 3.5 werewolf template...
Eberron also had non-alignment based lycanthropy but you still got a strong desire to kill and stuff, maybe not what you want.
