In the ARG, tieflings have access to the prehensile tail alternate racial trait. Lets you retrieve small items as a swift action with your tail.
What are the best applications of this? Here's what I've got so far:
1. Retrieve scroll of breath of life as a swift action, then approach the target and use it in the same turn. Congrats on being the only cleric who can do that. This is probably the best.
2. Sheathe your weapon (move), retrieve a different one (swift), attack (standard). Note that this will vary based on what your GM considers a small enough item to retrieve with your tail, but you're at least probably fine with light weapons.
3. Retrieve, load and fire a sling all in one turn.
4. 5ft step away from the guy who just ambushed you, swift out a potion, drink it, then draw your weapon.
....What else? Am I missing anything particularly good?
Hold gun while you reload it. Makes twin revolvers viable.
You can impress the ladies if you just-
Wait. This is about combat applications, I see.
Yeah, this seems best for reloading weapons and juggling magic items that need to be activated like scrolls, potions, and wands.
I prefer Kobold and Ratfolk tails. They come with weapon attachments.
By the way, Humans(and Aasimar) can have kobold tails.
hold a pistol while loading it - and useing a shield.
very important for a GunTank.
Yeah, already flagged it. Dunno what happened.

what?! really... now I have to go look into the ARG again...

Sorcerer/Wizard/Witch: Take a full move, swift out a wand, cast it. That's huge. Same for potions for an Alchemist.

I will explain:
Humans(and Aasimar with the scion of humanity alternate racial trait) can take the Racial Heritage(Kobold) feat, then grab the Tail Terror feat.
I merged the threads on this topic.
Can this be used to help alleviate the Oracles Haunted curse?
Scarymike wrote: Can this be used to help alleviate the Oracles Haunted curse? I see no reason the tail would override the curse.
Prehensile Tail Grab item as swift action.
Accelerated drinker Trait (drink potion as a move Equivalent action) Enlarge person maybe.
Step and attack.
I THINK the only way to get a potion from body, drink it and attack (or cast a spell) in same round.
The Grasping Tail feat increases the tail's usefulness.

Have the grasping tail feat. Be a disarm specialist. Disarm your opponent. Grab his weapon (unless he's TWF'ing or has improved unarmed strike he can't AoO you). (Optional) Beat him with his own weapon.
Tiefling already has +2 Int and Dex w/o elf's con penalty, making it ideal for a scimitar magus. Now you can have a tail to hold your metamagic rod and still have a hand free for spell combat!
If we asume that "flexible tails that can be used to carry items" means the tail is able to hold a flag:
Flagbearer Feat + Banner of the Ancient Kings + 1 level bard

Best use for a prehensile tail: swashbuckling while teleporting to save Kitty Pryde. Bamf!

Both the feat and the magic item clearly state that the banner must be carried in one's hands. tail =/= hand
I automatically thought "No longer need a hand for a holy symbol"...
wow, white haired witch level 2, then hexcrafter, with a tail now you can hold 3 meta magic rods and still hit em...
Vanarans have prehensile tails too. It makes blaming your monkey business on ... being a monkey.
"Its got a mind of it's own!"
Putting your arm across someones shoulders as you are walking and talking and using your tail to pick their pocket.
Can prehensile tails/tongues/hair be used to cast spells using semantic components when your hands are full?

Bit of a necro, but short answer no.
Tail wrote: Prehensile Tail Many tieflings have tails, but some have long, flexible tails that can be used to carry items. While they cannot wield weapons with their tails, they can use them to retrieve small, stowed objects carried on their persons as a swift action. This racial trait replaces fiendish sorcery. Long answer still no.

Special: If you have the prehensile tail racial trait, you can use your tail to grab unattended items within 5 feet as a swift action as well as to grab stowed objects carried on your person; you can hold such objects with your tail, though you cannot manipulate them with your tail (other than to put them in your hand).
Both are very specific in letting you grab things, hold things... and that's about it. I think the language is the same for all prehensile tails.
I wish you could put a ring on a tail, then you could shoot fireballs from your tail :)

Get the feat and make disarming viable. Disarm weapon, pick up weapon as a swift action.
