As a Cleric, I am just trying to think of any setups or applications where this spell could come in handy. Anybody out there know any tricks?
Being Evil would make it an amazing ability. You drop this thing on some random jack monkey and let the Paladin swarm him with smites... then step in and destroy.
Great way to throw off suspicion with misdirection...
If every commoner in a village pops with your powerful aura... may blind a paladin as well as throw good parties into a tizy?
if you are good, I can think of few reasons for it to be honest? I mean you can make a bad guy seem good but where is the goodness in that?
If your Cleric crafts (or has) an intelligent item, this spell allows party members of a different alignment to borrow it.
Why's it on the Oracle's list though? They don't have a clerical aura.
Make the entire party able to benefit from the Paladin's Litany of Righteousness.
Definitely limited use, but off the top of my head...
CE bad guy has an anarchic unholy weapon he's planning to use against you and your LG buddies? ... now he's -2 Levels
Haven't made it into town to sell the unholy weapon and wand of protection from good spells you got off of the last BBEG? ... now they're useful until you can find some other use for them
Random party (as in drinking, not adventuring) trick... especially to prank inquisitors & paladins with...
Thematically, might be fun to use in background as to how good guys sometimes inflict blue on blue casualties when they use detect evil too much...

It could also hide the side-effect of Infernal Healing from the Paladin.
