Along your argument though, if the undead doesn't have a soul, then why torture it? You don't torture a computer, or a toaster.

From a purely Theological standpoint right or wrong the Cylons don't have a soul either only those who are created in the image of GOD have a soul. regardless if you believe that. the cylons were created in mans image so they are nothing more than advanced machines Biblically speaking
as for torturing it it can still give you information. have you ever slammed your hands on a key board in frustration? or fake humped your wives stuffed animals in front of her to freak her out?
I think torture is wrong because no human being deserves to be treated that way. Jesus would never condone torture ever.

In the BSG universe, I'd say it's pretty clear that the Cylons (at least the skinjobs) have souls, given that a) They're based on the final five and (extrapolating from the Wiki) Zoe, Tamara and possibly other monothesists, b) They are our progenitors, so if they don't have souls, how do we? c) The angels (Head Six, Head Baltar, maybe Head Leoben and Head Driedle) talked to the Cylons and the Humans pretty equally, indicating they saw no difference.
And no, I may havbe had several reasons for being divorced, but humping stuffed animals in front of my wife wasn't one of them. :P

What GOD do they have to be created in the image of to have a soul?

How about Urgathoa as the god of undead. Her bio says she is actively worshiped by undead. Not zombies or non thinking undead but the sentient undead. Like the one in the example. So both sentient and created in the image of a god. Sounds like they have a soul.
Ahh, but check the first post, the pallies god absolutely despises undead, wants them all gone and doesn't care at all for undead and their fate, as long as they perish utterly and swiftly.
So the pally gets a bit of a pass here, in fact he might lose powers if he spared/freed/redeemed an undead. The god cares in this, cares that they die.

I'd point out that torturing them is not "Utterly and Swiftly."

True true, but it was done to find out more info on the undead and their evil master, to root them out as it were, which would lead to more effective smiting. So it seems this faith is very medieval when it comes to dealing with undead; less good, more vicious.
Now the player should absolutely not be evil to non-undead at all, but this faith isn't standard LG. Wasn't paizo also adding more to the paladins of various faiths, and indicating how they differ and what they practice?
