More than 4 cantrips?

How can a wizard prepare more than 4 cantrips?

Use a higher spell slot.

Take a level in witch. I think between Crusader and I, that's it.

Wands of cantrips are 375 gp for 50 charges.

Prepare cantrips in higher level spell slots, potentially with metamagic.

Burn arcane bond for one.

Multiclass with another arcane caster.

Purchase some cracked orange prism ioun stones.

Liberty's Edge

Use Mnemonic Enhancer to prepare an additional six cantrips...

I think a feat could easily pay for 2 extra cantrips.

If the campaign allowed homebrewed feats.

I believe he means allowing a player to take two extra cantrips per day in place of a feat is something that'd he'd allow as a DM. I'm not sure if there's a feat like that already, but it sounds kind of familiar...

I wish gaming forums had more mind readers like you.

I like the feat idea. Thank you!

But it will be expended as a regular spell right? Or a cantrip is always a cantrip?

Sczarni

You have traits which grant additional cantrips/ cantrip slots and even ioun stones which do same.

Grand Lodge

Yep... there is a PFS trait that allows an additional cantrip. 5 is likely the most you will need on hand but if you find them useful and wide ranging then maybe a scroll?

Does the extra cantrips feat only work for bards and sorcs? I don't think it would be too strong for wizards.

Such as the Extra Cantrips or Orisons feat.

Knew that thought was familiar :O

I think (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) that the cantrip stays unlimited UNLESS you do something like metamagic to make it so it isn't a 0-level spell anymore. For example, preparing Acid Splash in a 1st-level slot would let you cast it all day, but making it a Stilled Acid Splash in the same first level slot would only give you one casting of it.

Sadly no help to wizards they already know them all its memorising them thats the problem.

Sovereign Court

There's a couple of magic items that mimic specific cantrips. The Hand of the Mage for example mimics Mage Hand. But you're stuck wearing a mummified elven hand, which is kind of creepy.

There definitely should be some sort of feat for this.

So that is what the ULTIMATE MAGIC book is for! But Bertious is right! It do not help a wizard!

Sovereign Court

Really. Cantrips are fairly harmless, but a lot of fun. Why is it so hard to get more than 4?

Homebrew it so that the intelligence bonus spells extends down to cantrips as well.

Grand Lodge

The Split Slot discovery lets you prepare 2 extra cantrips in place of one 2nd level spell.

That is too expensive I think! But still is nice to know it, thanks!

Scrolls of cantrips are dirt cheap. Make some.

Multi-class into Sorcerer! Totally worth it.

I was thinking that. In that case I have to specify the spells I cast as wizard and the ones as wizard right?

Mostly worth it if you can make use of the bloodline arcana. For instance, a blaster could make good use of the draconic line.

On the front of "yes-but," keep in mind that the Sorc Cantrips are permanent. Once you choose them, they are always known and available. Thus, you pick the obvious with them: Prestidigitation and Detect Magic. The Wizard ones, then, are variable and prepped daily as desired.
