So all the style feats trees that we know about have three feats, the first is the Style feat (i.e. Crane Style, Boar style e.t.c.) and the next two feats are combat feats that only activate if the first style feat is itself active. (And the third feat in the tree always has a prerequisite of the second feat in the tree)
Now, the Master of Many Styles archetype says this:
At 1st level, 2nd level, and every four levels thereafter, a master of many styles may select a bonus style feat or the Elemental Fist feat. He does not have to meet the prerequisites of that feat, except the Elemental Fist feat. Alternatively, a master of many styles may choose a feat in that style’s feat path (such as Earth Child Topple) as one of these bonus feats if he already has the appropriate style feat (such as Earth Child Style). The master of many styles does not need to meet any other prerequisite of the feat in the style’s feat path.
Note the bolded part says that a MoMS can ignore prereqs of feats in the style feat path, does that mean a MoMS can ignore the second feat in a tree and go straight for the third?
I ask not only for my benefit, but also because I was challenged on this interpretation by the good folks from HeroLab (skipping the second feat to go straight for the third), so I'm putting this question up here to be faq-ed as well.

Absolutely it can, unless it gets errata'd to say otherwise or your GM and your group decide that they don't like that.
That's what it means by not needing to meet any other prerequisite of the feat.
Plus it isn't like any of end tier are drastically better then the starting or midpoints.
As for Crane Riposte, you can take it and gain the advantage of the reduction in the fighting defensively penalty, but you are unable to use the rest of the feat as you don't have the condition that activates it. It's something that happens when you use Crane Wing to deflect an attack, which you won't ever do without the Crane Wing feat so it never comes into play.

I, too, would like to know on this one. For example, if you take Crane Riposte (the third in the Crane tree), does it let you parry the attack and make a counter attack without having to take Crane Wing?
Ninja'ed, was going to post that I would allow you to take Cane riposte but it doesn't do anything without crane wing.
Also, *hint* if you want an official reply, click the faq button *hint*.

No reason for an "official" reply to a question like this. It's very clear in the wording of the feat. It would have to say something like, "any other prerequisites except for" to have that limitation.
Normally, I'd agree with you Morgen, but the guys at Herolabs insist that this is not what the feat entails and will only change it with official clarification. Granted, this isn't a big thing, but I'd like to see the major character builder for pathfinder have the right interpretation of the feat, wouldn't you?

Edit: For reference, I append the answer I was given:
The final conclusion was that the "appropriate style feat" is the one that precedes it in the feat path, rather than the first in the chain. I do recognize that only the first feat in the chain has a "Style" moniker in the descriptions, but all feats in the chain are listed as style feats on pg 86-88, the example given mentions you can take Earth Child Topple (the second feat in the chain) if you have the first feat in the chain (Earth Child Style), and it doesn't seem that the point of the archetype or ability is to skip over the intermediate feats (are you really the master of a style if you can skip to the end of the chain and ignore the intermediate ability?).
There is some ambiguity, I'll freely admit, but absent an official ruling or clarification it will remain as interpreted. If you want to switch the interpretation for your home game, I could certainly help you make a replacement archetype that handles it as you prefer, but please, we should take that to a different thread than the bug thread.

In herolab you can work around this easily. Just take the second feat to get the third feat to show up in the list. Then take the third feat and drop the second feat and it won't give you an error, I just tried it.
Ah, cool, I hadn't thought to do that. Thanks Caleth!

You can skip the 2nd, you still need the 1st. So ideally, you take the 1st feat in the chain as one of your general feats, then grab the 3rd feats in the chain w/ your bonus feats. For the styles with stinky 2nd feats, at least. Snake is the most notable, IMO. Crane is an example of where the 2nd is the best in the entire chain anyway. Panther just plain needs all 3 to work decently at all, and so forth.
