Clark for good or ill has been pretty busy with RL of late. I know several of their products are close to completion, but unsure exactly where they are. I sent Clark a email about this thread and a URL to it. So hopefully if he has time he can pop in and update people in the next few days.

Dallas, TX, (June 7th 2012) – FROG GOD GAMES, the makers of roleplaying games and books, today announced that they are acquiring Necromancer Games, the award-winning publishing house known for Necropolis, Rappan Athuk, City of Brass, Tomb of Abysthor, Crucible of Freya, Tome of Horrors, and many other famous titles
I wonder what the acquisiton of NG by FGG will mean for LG...
I know Clark has a very busy PL and all. Maybe Greg who was involved in some of the plug-ins has some info.
Greg? you out there?

@Gondolin
There are a couple of new products supporting the Gothic Horror campaign (aka Carrion Crown) starting to move through the development pipeline. The team is currently targeting a release date at or around PaizoCon. The "Murmuring Fountain" side-trek adventure is among them. And I know a lot of LG fans have been waiting to see what that'll look like. It'll be awesome, of course. Written by Clark Peterson and Jason Nelson. ;-)
Turned over 5 of 8 new character writeups to Hugo Solis last night so he can start sketching for a new Legendary Games product. I'm on vacation next week, but would like to finish the other 3 when I get back. Each one just needs a few hundred words or so of character background and personality traits.
Hey, Preston. Yes. It's coming out. The product is currently in the development stage (i.e., art and layout). Jason Nelson is overseeing everyone's efforts. It was co-authored by him and Clark Peterson. There's also another Carrion Crown side-trek adventure in the works called "Fiddler's Lament" which is in the development pipeline, too. It's written by Greg A. Vaughan.

Legendary Games is, in fact, still a going concern. We jest bin 'sleep fo' a while. :)
In all seriousness, Legendary Games is in fact ready to hit the comeback trail STARTING AT PAIZOCON 2012. Neil and I will be there, as will Tim Wickham our excellent layout man. I am pretty sure Boomer will be present as well, though Clark probably will not be able to make it and I am not sure about Greg and Colby Stevenson, one of our artists. Hugo Solis is raising some dough and hoping to make it as well.
Besides us personally, we will be releasing two mini-adventures to accompany Carrion Crown: "The Murmuring Fountain" co-written by Clark and I, and the "Fiddler's Lament," which are both plug-in adventures for the Haunting of Harrowstone. These adventures play off of the atmosphere and themes of the AP, as well as helping to resolve the issue of being able to raise enough of a positive reputation with the townsfolk to turn events your way in the adventure.
Following PaizoCon, we plan to release further products biweekly, including the "Tomes of Ancient Knowledge," a collection of creepy and horribulous spellbooks and magicks arcane and divine, and the "Construct Codex," a monster supplement detailing 10 elaborately horror-themed constructs. The "Tomes" supplement should come out two weeks following PaizoCon and the Construct Codex following that.
This will tie up our product releases for the Carrion Crown AP, but we are not finished. In fact, following on the heels of these products will be Neil Spicer's fantastic follow-up to his Gothic Heroes pregen product, a set of delightfully detailed pregens for use with a certain recent AP involving the destined empress of a faraway Asian-themed land of high fantasy and adventure. Additional products will be following in support of this AP, but the naughty minx that is Dark Mistress would most likely punish me in a fashion that is illegal in several states if I said any more about them at this point. :)
We at Legendary Games appreciate your continued interest and support even though things have been less than active on our end. All we can say is that a new day is dawning, and we are ready to rock and roll!

Hi just got back into town and saw this. Neil pretty well summed up the state of the union for Legendary Games. As for the FGG announcement, there is no connection. Legendary was not a part of Necro, and the acquisition of Necro does not affect Legendary Games.

Another update on future products: I finished penning the first installment for the next AP series, which we can hopefully announce at PaizoCon. Just because I've finished the written turnover doesn't mean it'll be available right away, though. Our layout and art experts have to do their thing. And, most of them are locked in on completing the Gothic-themed plug-in material we did for the Carrion Crown AP.
Still, there's more around the corner...

Did anything ever happen on the suggested Serpent's Skull plug ins, or is that AP now too far in the past to be worthwhile?
| Neil Spicer Contributor, RPG Superstar 2009, RPG Superstar Judgernaut |
Essentially, no AP is "too far in the past" for us to take on. Paizo's APs have legs that far outlive their original release date. The problem is, we can't take them all on at once. And, when we do tackle one, we try and make sure we give it multi-product support so the releases hopefully synergize a bit and widen everyone's experience enough that they'll pick them up as a set rather than onesie-twosie.
We also have a limited number of authors/designers, most of whom all have additional commitments to Paizo, Frog God/Necromancer, etc. So, it's not like we can rush into Serpent's Skull or Kingmaker as quickly as some of you might want (or even as some of us may want). We have to get our ducks in a row and knock these out as we can. And, as we go along, Paizo keeps releasing more and more APs. So, we have both the current releases and the older releases to consider when we're thinking about which AP to do next.
I'm a proponent of trying to pursue a series of newer AP products and a series of older AP products in any given year...i.e., a 6-month cycle of activity in which we try and match an AP plug-in series to the same 6-month cycle it takes for Paizo to release a new AP. But again, a lot of our ability to pursue that kind of release schedule depends on everyone's availability to do enough complementary products to do justice to any given AP, you know?
So, that's some of the challenges we face at Legendary Games. Our product release schedule isn't at all what you might expect from most other Pathfinder-compatible 3PPs. We're very deliberate in our selection of projects. And that's based both on our availability as writers, artists, layout designers and on what we perceive as a good AP plug-in series to pursue (i.e., which ones would generate the most interest/sales).
In terms of that latter consideration, sometimes the better selling products will hinge on one of Paizo's newer APs as people get really excited about them. And, sometimes it'll hinge on some of Paizo's less well-received APs in an effort to breathe new life into them and get people to give them a second chance. Kingmaker is a good example of the former (even though it's becoming an older release now) and Serpent's Skull is probably a good example of the latter. They're both on our radar screen as potential targets. But we'll need to marshall everyone's interest in a good spread of products to support them before we get rolling with either.
Jason may want to comment further here, but that's just my two cents,

Thanks for the detailed explanation Neil, that all makes perfect sense. Hopefully we can look forward to some of the older and arguably less popular APs being supported further down the line, once Legendary Games springs back into life and there's a firmer product schedule.

Neil has the right of it. Part of the idea of Legendary Games is to get a group of great people together to work on support products for the APs, but part of making those great products is finding ideas that really fire our imaginations. We aren't going to do a product that WE aren't excited about doing just to fill a slot on the schedule or to have uniform coverage for all APs.
Take the "Treasury of the Macabre" for instance. I love creating magic items, but we may be less likely to do a product like that for newer APs, given that starting with Jade Regent Paizo has made a more specific and explicit appendix for each AP issue that incorporates 2 pages of magic items or similar items. Thus, there's not as much need for a product like that as for the older APs where that element did not exist in the AP, or existed only haphazardly, with a handful of items scattered throughout the AP. That said, if I or one of our other contributors has a great idea for a batch of items that really hit the themes of an AP (and, ideally, have great cross-applicability for other campaigns outside of the AP), then by all means we will go forward.
Paizo's APs are rather 'evergreen' in their appeal. People are still playing Rise of the Runelords just as they're playing Skull & Shackles. We do have plans to capitalize on newer APs and to reach back to older ones, but as Neil stated one of our guiding principles is that we'd rather tackle an AP with several products at once than just dribble out a product for this and a product for that here and there. That's partly because it makes more sense from an art and layout perspective on our end, but also because it gives you the public a much better chance to get mutually supporting products that work together and take your AP or your non-AP campaign to another level.
Right now, it looks like we are good to go for two adventures and the "Tomes of Arcane Knowledge" products for a PaizoCon release, with the "Construct Codex" to follow soon thereafter. Our next product series will be in support of the Jade Regent AP, including some similar products to what we've done before (like Neil's pregens and an adventuree or two) but also some new and different product concepts. We'll see how you the public enjoy them, and the ones people love (and BUY!) we'll definitely push up the list as ones to repeat for other APs.
As always, our commitment is to absolute quality and innovative design, and we hope you have as much fun using our products as we do making them!
| Gondolin |
Thanks to Jason and Neil.
Please understand that it has been a year since we heard about the mini-adventures such as fountain and that I am SO looking forward for this along with any other products you have in store.
I bought the pregens and showed them to the players who gave it a rapid glance with no comments. I thought : «this is strange!» They all made up their own characters. We have been playing HoH for 8 weeks now and the party is now just exploring the ground floor. Last night my son walks by and says : Oh by the way, I looked at the pregens and they are great, I especially like the elven PI type. I told him it was about time he took a serious look at the pregens now that he was playing one of his design. But it is nice to know he will have a backup when his witch dies. Mwahaha!
The group also found a seance candle in the crypt of the Restlands which they plan on using it the prison.
So to all of you out there who are still hesistant, these supplements rock! Buy them!
That is all.

My request is that you get them up here after you make them there. Some of us aren't able to make Paizocon, but would still like to get the news!

I believe we will have the product online and ready to buy by PaizoCon, both here and (hopefully) on DrivethruRPG, assuming no technical glitches along the way. Once they're up, you can buy, Buy, BUY!!! (3 buys, since it'll be 3 products, see!)

Also, this being summer and all and with things slowing down, my Carrion Crown is pretty much on hiatus, so I think I will shelve it 'till septembre.
My players outvoted me and want to keep playing Carrion Crown even if attendance will be lower along with session frequency.
But hey! Who cares? We just got 3 plug-ins for the path. Can hardly wait to run the two mini-modules..... Thanks LG! Got'em all!

I have done a complete read-through of Fidler's Lament and just started Murmuring Fountain.
I am quite impressed by Lament and how it is set up. I think playing Saint-Saens' Danse Macabre during the session will be quite a-propos for this encounter with the violin featured in that piece.
As for the Fountain, the mix of genres (Poe/Lovecraft) is original. The name of the raven is too obvious, but my players may well not make the connection, them being francophone and Poe not being required reading at school. Haven't finished it so don't know how it will end yet.
Have not started ToaKnowledge yet.
All I can say is more-more-more!
Anything else planned for the other volumes in this AP? Yes, I know, I am a pest for wanting to give you my money.... ;-)

Yes. Jason still has the Construct Codex coming out. Here's the blurb from the LG website about it:
Construct Codex: From the crowflight carriage, a shining black carriage construct drawn by spectral horses used by vampire lords, to the living crematory, an automaton that roams battlefields disposing of the dead in a frighteningly efficient manner; from the stained glass knight, a gleaming construct designed to defend cathedrals, to the dire organ, a magnificent instrument possessed of prideful majesty and dire dirges, the Codex is a supplement containing 11 gothic-themed constructs to flesh out a world of gothic horror.
So, basically, it's a gothic-themed bestiary specifically focusing on constructs suitable for that genre.

Hey Greg and Neil
Started running Fidler's.
Not only did they not accept the monlender's generous offer, they even forced the mercenaries to hide the children and the dog from the level 10 gazeebo inside the shop.
They handled the public post incident and are off towards the church.
All in all, players are enjoying the plug-in and the opportunity to rack-up trust points. It is also nice to have a floorplan of the general store. Fountain will be next.
