I have an idea stuck in my head for a character who was abandoned in the wilderness as a child, and grew up basically without human contact (the most direct inspiration would be San from Princess Mononoke. Class-wise, any of Barbarian, Druid or Ranger could fit, but I'm not sure where to take the concept from there. Any suggestions?

i'd suggest ranger with archetype of either beastmaster or shapeshifter. you either have a whole stable of animal friends you picked up during your time in the wilds or in the case of the shapeshiftter you take on aspects of those animals.
also id agree with Carbon D. Metric about the skills, maybe go gnome for the speak with animals ability. definitely bad table manners

BigNorseWolf has a point. I've been reading the original Conan stories and have been playing a thusly inspired barbarian in my current campaign. You can be completely feral but discover civilization later in life. The intelligent savage will make use of advanced technology like good weapons and good armor, or seek spell casting training if it seems appealing. A wolf would do it.
