Manacles, Tie Up Grapple manuever, and Rope.

Rules Questions

Grappling rules are - somewhat vague to some of me and my fellow players. The tie up maneuver for Grappling, it mentions rope a lot but it doesn't say you can't use Manacles or Chain in place of Rope.

If you are allowed to use Manacles though, do you use the Tie Up maneuver's rules on how to break out of it, or Manacle's set rules of Burst and Escape Artist.

And being tied up by rope - I know you're allowed to use Escape Artist or a Combat Maneuver check to slip or break free from the Tie Up maneuver. But what if you want to Burst the rope? Are you still allowed to burst out of rope if you were tied up using the Tie Up maneuver? Or are you stuck with using a Combat Maneuver check/escape artist check?

Finally, Manacles. It says once manacles are placed on you, you're bound. Which makes you helpless.
So having your wrists locked to one another makes it so you're put to 0 dexterity and can't dodge or evade an attack coming at you to stop a Killer Blow?

Bump, I would like opinions or answers please.

I am looking for an answer too. I know how to use Manacles as a weapon, but not for it's intended use in combat.

Well Troll, could you tell me how you 'use' manacles as a weapon?

And do you know if you need two manacles to make someone helpless, or would you consider manacles on someone's hands just give them a constant 'grappled' condition?

Grand Lodge

Manacles can be used as an improvised weapon. The Rough and Ready trait will take away the penalty.
Got no answer for the other question.

Bump.

I am surprised it's not covered. I believe placing manacles on an opponent can be done in place of giving someone the pinned condition.
It seems that most references to manacles involve using them on a helpless individual. This implies that manacles can only be placed on a helpless creature.

Where are you getting that? "Bound" isn't a status. My understanding is you would be pinned and have to escape by breaking or slipping (or picking, if you can find a way) the manacles.
