It took me a few seconds to realize what I was reading in my email... I won't spoil it, I will let you all read it.
Hopefully it inspires some!

I saw it, and immediately knew what it was, but, I had no idea who Ambrus Valsin was! (But, you know, what more can you expect from an Osiriani silk and rug merchant?)
I'm glad that his title and such was included! Otherwise, I would've had to have looked him up! There's a bunch of questions I have, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone ... so:
I thought that this was a really cool thing ... I loved the idea of an in-character letter. I wish it had been addressed to my character name, rather than my IRL name (it sort of broke verisimilitude), but, I guess there's not a way to do that, other than sending one to every character. I was hoping to have gotten one from Amenopheus, the Sapphire Sage, since I am an Osirion player ... but, still, it was super cool. Especially after the recent threads like Cledwyns-Confection-Castle and the speculation in this post: Mondays-Blog.
Glad to see there's a little more IC development.
SUPERcool!

It may just be for people with Grand Lodge faction characters. Please comment if you have recieved one and do not have a GL character.
I don't have a Grand Lodge Character, either. Just Osiriani, and Scarzni.
It looks like they began going out just after 8am (West Coast time ... so 10 Central, 11 Eastern.) They hit the ground running at the Paizo office this morning!

I've gotten one and I've never actually played Pathfinder, much less PFS.
I was quite puzzled by it; I don't have enough of a context to understand the email I received.
Ah, but looking at your account shows you have a PFS character registered. :) Maybe a mistake, but there it is.
(PS You should really try out PFS some time, its a blast!)

Yeah, I JUST saw that... I have no idea why that's there, I didn't make it.
I'd like to play PFS but severe anxiety issues. Me having a panic attack at a table wouldn't be enjoyable for anyone.

Remember, we're all Pathfinders. Ambrus runs the Grand Lodge, so even if you have joined one of those misguided "factions" I've heard so much about, he's still ultimately a representative of the Decemvirate, and the host of the Grand Convocation.
It's also a plea for aid in repairing the damage done by that unsubtle oaf from Almas...
I hope to meet many of you there, on my first trip to the Grand Convocation from Magnimar.

It's standard industry practice to not try to send a large number of emails all at once. That's the sort of thing spammers do, and it's one of the quickest ways to get one's email servers blacklisted. Given that, it's not surprising that there's been a delay in people receiving the message. All this means is that Paizo's sysadmins know what they're doing (I can't say I'm surprised).
Now, what I'm curious about is if everyone received the same message.

Ok, based on what we're seeing, this is going out to anyone that has a registered PFS character whether they've played or not. If you're not participating in Pathfinder Society, then it doesn't really apply. It's setting up the story arc for Season 5, so you'll see repercussions from this throughout the season.

I hope it isn't a PaizoCon exclusive thing... I would really love to participate, I had a moment of "This is flipping sweet" when I read the e-mail.
Yeah ... I am hoping the same as well. Referenced is a PaizoCon event, but I don't know if there will be other stuff for the rest of us, or if it's PaizoCon exclusive.
If it is, frankly, I'd rather not have gotten the letter, and gotten all excited about it - I don't know if I am going to get to go to PaizoCon, or not.

Got mine.
Along with a short missive from the Paracountess:

You put words in my mouth as though I weren't watching you. Your attempts at humor fall upon deaf ears, however. Perhaps you should state only the truth instead of using me as a mouthpiece for your own delusions.

The way I hear it, you're quite popular to be used as a mouthpiece. Exactly the type of whoredom I've come to expect from so-called nobles here in the western lands. Take a lesson from honorable Tien women and get some class.

All will be answered in good time, Pathfinders. Until such time as we lay all upon the table, I urge you to steel yourselves for the task at hand. The Decemvirate needs you.
As always, the Decemvirate can count on me to accomplish whatever mission is required. My service is ever yours.
