Can you power attack with a spiritual weapon

Rules Questions

Title pretty much says it, but if a character had power attack feat and cast spiritual weapon could he use that feat with the attack action of the spell?

If the spiritual weapon had power attack, yes. Which they don't have.

But if you read the spell, it explicitly says that your feats don't help it.

So the answer is no.

You can power attack with a Flame Blade though.

No you can't really. The Flame Blade is a light weapon. no Power Attacking with it.

Spiritual Hammer operates much like a dancing weapon. You don't grip it directly so the feat does not apply. There are no two handed modifiers either for the same reason.

First off, you can power attack with a light weapon. Second, a Flame Blade is treated as a scimitar, a one handed weapon. Totally doable.

Liberty's Edge

Spiritual Weapon specifically states "Your feats or combat actions do not affect the weapon."

Liberty's Edge

Can't power attack with Flame Blade. Attacks with a Flame Blade are touch attacks therefore making them incapable of power attackage.

Grand Lodge

Flame Blade is a touch attack, I missed that. Well, weapon focus and weapon specialization still apply.

You can power attack with touch attacks if the spell states they are treated as a weapon.

Grand Lodge

Ah, I knew there was a reason.

Yeah, it allows for some pretty nifty combos and whatnot. Found that out because I've been working on a warlock conversion, and the eldritch glaive ability is treated as a weapon, but still a touch attack, so you can get some pretty sweet stuff going on there.

Liberty's Edge

" you can power attack with touch attacks if the spell states they are treated as a weapon."

is this stated somewhere? Because power attack specifically says you can't power attack with touch attacks.

EDIT: Especially since you don't even get your strength modifier to the damage... So swinging extra hard would....do....nothing..

A possible use for pirhana strike, perhaps?

Liberty's Edge

Still not usable with touch attacks, Terronus.
