Can Spark light a torch?

Rules Questions

It says Spark can light unattended Fine objects... but it seems odd that it couldn't light a torch, which is meant to be lit, though it isn't Fine. In fact, it seems odd that it could only (potentially) light torches or lanterns that are unattended. Could someone clarify? Thanks!

Classic case of a house rule playing the role of common sense.

In our games spark can light a prepared torch. It can't start a branch burning though.

We also use spark to set off flashpowder or fireworks.

That would be the true intent of the cantrip.

Heh... I just had a thought... Could you use spark to cause someone's black powder gun to go off on your turn?

I suppose that's why the "unattended" adjective exists... sigh... would be cool though.

Okay, thanks!

Open/Close has no such clause. First open his powder horn, then spark the black powder that spills out...

You can't light a torch that is attended, but you could light an unattended one.

Branches are easy too. You don't target the torch or branch itself, as they are too large. Instead, target the fine-sized scraps of fabric on the end of a torch, or a leaf on the branch.

You can't target large curtains, but you can target a few fine threads within the curtain.

See where I'm going with this?
