Good afternoon all.
I just wanted to check for my bard if this is a crazy feat progression (half elf bard)
1st Weapon Finesse
3rd Eldrich Heritage to get a familiar
5th: Lingering Performance
7th (Improved famiiar)
Gearwise, I'm thinking she carries a scorpion whip (later MW, later +1 agile) and a cestus for close combat, so I have the whole P/B/S covered.
Also looking at the dance of 23 steps at 4th or 5th level for defense.

Consider the sea singer archetype if you want a familiar for free.
Not to crazy, but you might want to read up on the whole "scorpion whip, what can it do?" threads. There's some discord between what the rules allow. (for example: some people believe that you need EWP to use the Scorpion Whip, otherwise it's like a whip, meaning non lethal, etc)
Looks cool. You might want to consider the dervish dancer bard for a more melee/dex based thing, since you aren't picking up any trip/disarm tricks for your whip.

From what I understand, and what Hero Lab has set for it, you only need EWP (Whip) to use a scorpion whip. On the other hand, you only get a 10 foot reach instead of 15 feet, you do 1d4 instead of 1d3, and can do lethal regardless.

The Dawnflower Dervish bard archetype (not to be confused with the Dervish Dancer bard or the Dawnflower Dervish fighter) gives you the Dervish Dance feat for free sans prereqs at level 1. Additionally, it doubles the value of your self-only Inspire Courage (i.e., +2/+2 at 1st level).
You'd be restricted to worshipping Sarenrae though, so review your concept first.

Freed Kelish slave, loyal to the Taldor faction. Yeah, Dawnflower Dervish isn't going to fly. :-)
I think I'll go rapier and normal whip. Since she's designed to be a support character for my niece and nephew's characters (when I'm not GMing) she can hide behind the barbarian and the rogue-who-thinks-she's-a-barbarian and do (ineffectual) disarm and trip attempts while buffing.

Truestrike (from a wand or scroll with UMD if you need it) really works well in disarming a barbarians opponent, from behind the Barbie (with a whip).
The Barbarian then smiles and says "go ahead, pick it up..." smile
