Need advice on an evil character.

Advice

Hi everyone! Ive been in a steady campaign for about 2 1/2 years and the group has asked the dm if we could take a break on our characters for a bit and run some others. Well he decided that he will make it an evil adventure starting lvl 5 going through, lvl 7.

I really want to make someone snake themed kinda like Thulsla doom. I was thinking either serpent druid or sorcerer. Im leaning more for the sorcerer but id like some advice. I really want to utalize the poison and the charm aspect but being good at both is too MAD. Its not really an optimized group so its not too much of a problem I just dont want to suck. Any advice,is appreciated.

Its golarion setting 20 point buy set in the rahadun area and im pretty sure we will be doing something involving Lamashtu.

Im typing on my phone right now with giant sausage fingers and no spell check sorry for any errors.

Play an alchemist and theme the bombs. You could also play a synthesist summoner.

Summoner with a "serpentine" Eidolon... lots of snake-summoning... craft/alchemy for poison manufacture. @ 5th level, if you're willing to spend the skill ranks on cross-class stealth and disguise, you could qualify for Assassin for your next level, getting poison use...

Unfortunately, unfamiliar with the campaign setting (I never have been much for premade settings) so I can't advise on cultural effect...

PS: Bribe your GM for access to the Book of Vile Darkness.

Well, Vishkanya are rare in the Inner Sea, but they do exist on Golarion (I think), so you could go with them (since they already have the poison aspect down), and then base your sorcerer with charming abilities. In this case, I think the fey or the serpent bloodlines work well (because both's bloodline arcana increases the effectiveness of compulsion spells). Honestly, I think the serpent sorcerer is a good bet.

Or you could play a poison-heavy rogue or assassin of some sort...unless that compromises the "snake" theme too much. Put all of their skill ranks in Diplomacy and Bluff, make them a smooth talker...and make sure he's never hurting for poisons, so give him ranks in that particular Craft skill...

Keep in mind that druids, as divine spellcasters, don't make much sense in Rahadoum, since you probably don't want the Pure Legion messing up your adventuring...or maybe you do...in which case, go with that

Mm. Cosmopolitan makes animal handling available as a class skill... train and breed snakes. As Summoner, Sorcerer, Rogue, etc.

Wait...what alignment kind of evil? I don't know Chaotic that well but when it comes to Lawful I think I know, I've been playing one for a while. In my opinion go with the serpent druid. Druids are powerful(if you know how to play them right). If you don't succeed try again. If you want to take an animal companion you should pick a snake of some type to match. Good luck.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This comes up often, but evil does not equal jerk. You can have a chaotic evil nice guy, and a lawful good jerk. Just thought I would put that out there. If you want, I can give examples of both.

Serpentine bloodline Sorcerer. You've got 20 points. Go human.

Str 8, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 12, Wis, 10, Cha 16. That's 20 points and you don't have pure dump stats, except for Strength. You are a Sorcerer; you don't need Strength. Put your +2 for being human into Charisma, and you are done.

the snake sorcerer is a fun idea. but if i may suggest a different evil character might i introduce you to the anit-paladin
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/alternate-classes/antipaladin
take the most powerful tanking class and vie them a plethora of OMG offensive abilities. i have always wanted to play one but since i showed my dm one on paper to throw against us to teach our paladin a lesson and he said no way there just to crazy.

Thanks a ton for the advice so far guys. My dm finaly revealed some details about the campaign. Its going to be set in Osirion during the time before the tombs were legal to raid.

Now I want to do an evil archaeologist :)

This is a pretty intresting archrype. From what I gather lingering performance is kinda mandatory. Other then that im in the dark.
