Can a flying creature use Spring Attack?
On a related note, I know I can train a mount to air walk and use it in combat, but if so, can I use spirited charge and ride-by attack, since I am not flying but 'walking on air?'
Under fly it says nothing about training a mount for it, so I assume it cannot be done.

I do not believe Spring Attack mentions anything about being on the ground or not, but I'm not sure.
You might also want to look at this.
Flyby Attack
This creature can make an attack before and after it moves while flying.
Prerequisite: Fly speed.
Benefit: When flying, the creature can take a move action and another standard action at any point during the move. The creature cannot take a second move action during a round when it makes a flyby attack.
Normal: Without this feat, the creature takes a standard action either before or after its move.

Fly By provokes as normal
A flying crature can use spring attack, but fly by allows a "Standard" Action so you could cast a spell, or Vital strike ect. things you normaly could not do with spring attack

Flyby attack is similar to Shot on The Run, not Spring Attack.
Spring Attack has no restriction against being used with flying movement. However, note you are probably going to be making a flying check to pull a fast turn, and your DM may not allow it because doing so while flying reduces your speed...which normally Spring Attack has no effect on. C'est la vie.
Spirited and ride-by attack will work fine while on a flying mount. Mode of movement is restricted by neither feat.
