So I am planning on arriving in the Seattle area at least on the Wednesday before the Con and would like to go sight seeing, exploring, and have a great time. I have tried to convince a hand full of locals to attend the Con with me, but most are poor, busy, or to unreliable to go.
So I was wondering if anyone else on the boards is interested in a gathering of gamers who plan on arriving early or locals? A sort of meet and greet to explore the city and have fun while waiting for the Con to start on Friday.
Personally I want to go to Card Kingdom and Cafe Mox (At least on the 5th cause it looks like they are closed on the 4th) and probably will want to go to a few other places, like the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and the Underground Tour.

Another stop I'd suggest is DTwenty Games in Normandy Park, just 5 minutes West of SeaTac Airport. It's fantastic. Kind of like a smaller version of Card Kingdom. It's also my friendly local game store. It's more of a 4e haunt than Pathfinder, but that's just because I haven't had the time yet to take Mike Brick up on his generous offer to come down and get Pathfinder Society going strong.
If anybody would want to go in there on Thursday night before the con and blow everybody away, I'd definitely get it on their schedule.
I'll bet we'd get a lot of interested gamers...
Hell, I might have to just use these boards to get something huge going before then...

I am not sure of how crazy my schedule may or may not be, but I'm thinking of perhaps giving another tour this year.
We usually hit Pike's Place market in the AM, head down to the waterfront, check out things, eat at Ivar's something, and either do the Aquarium or the Seattle Underground Tour in Pioneer Square. Then back to Redmond for the Meet and Eat. Full day.
Again, no promises yet.

It is known indeed.
My must-have at the market is the baked curry beef hum bow at Mee Sum Pastry. Nom! So good!
Pike Place Chowder in Post Alley is also very good and has half a dozen or more varieties sure to please every palate (assuming you like seafood soup)!
Chocolate croissant at Le Panier Bakery = nom.
Oatmeal cookie at Cinnamon Works = nom. 3 bucks seems like a lot for a cookie, but it's the size of a dinner plate, not to mention delicious!

If you like to cook, you owe it to yourself to stop by World Spice or Penzeys. They're both delightful.
The corporate office/main warehouse for Penzey's is about 75 minutes from my front door, so I'm admittedly biased, but to people who've never been, Penzey's is its own little gold mine of spice-tacular happiness.

OH...and don't forget to hit the international district for some Banh Mi sandwiches. Being on the pacific, Seattle has a strong asian influence and some of the best Asian food in the states.
Real stuff not distilled down for American Tastes. Also it's a good place to get some really good Cioppino since we have dungeness crab native to the PacNW.
Good sushi too. although I am partial to the restaurants further east towards the Cascades as the Sushi Chef I trained under owns restaurants over there.

For those who like their rock and roll hard, fast, and classic, there is an AC/DC exhibit opening up at the EMP museum at Seattle Center that you might enjoy.

This is the kind of thing I like to see mentioned. I want something unique to Seattle/West Coast when I come out there. I can eat at a chain restaurant here (Michigan) anytime I want, but while out there I want something that I can ONLY get there. Thanks for the tip. I'll be checking that out!

I'm a fan of Din Tai Fung, which is in the Lincoln Square shopping center adjacent to Bellevue Square. It's one of their only US locations (I know there's one in Los Angeles and may be one in New York, don't recall).
It's about a mile west of the Coast Hotel where they held previous PaizoCons, but still a short car ride from Redmond.

Gah! I keep meaning to make it over there. Damn it.

If you go, make sure to check out The Daily Dozen. Freshly-fried mini donuts for cheap.
Liz is absolutely correct!!! I can't wait to get back there and have both the Daily Dozen and the Piroshky!!!!! Make sure you have time though. Traffic was very bad and you can get sucked in to all the wonderful shops.

Agreed, definitely a full day but at least I will get some sleep this year for Friday. Nothing like seeing all those Paizo folks dead tired on their first big day.

Plenty! How deep are your pockets? :D
Village Square Cafe is a nice diner. The pancakes are awesome, but be prepared for a wait. If you value your sanity, don't go on Sundays.
Iyara Thai. Best pad thai ever.
El Matador. Great margaritas, and great-for-Seattle Mexican food.
Spicy Talk. Wide variety of Sichuan food. Ranges from "not spicy" to "OMG it burns so good."
