Don't forget, if you have OF at the end of the name of a scenario on your schedule, you are a overfill GM for that scenario for that particular spot.

For instance, Kyle is the Overfill GM for both of his slots of 4-04 on Saturday. If one of the GMs scheduled to GM 4-04 doesn't show up for their game, he will fill in for them. If all the scheduled GMs show up for their game, he is released for the slot. I have edited his post to reflect that so everyone can see.

I plan to have an OF GM for each scenario for each slot so no table is without a GM. I also have a checklist this year for all GMs to check-in before each slot. If a GM misses or skips a game without a good excuse, they will not be considered for future volunteer positions. Hopefully, I have all "Y" in those boxes and zero "N".

no pressure or anything with scheduling, but my goal this Gencon is to play under as many 4+ star GMs as possible. :P

Just remember, they put their pants on 1 leg at a time too. Unless you're Kyle Baird. Then they're used to TPK a party then he wills them on.

And hey, there are many great GMs with less than 4 stars! they just...haven't GM'd enough sessions to get all those spiffy stars yet.

Looks like they are doing a better job of scheduling this year, and avoiding what I had last year, 8 Slots 7 different scenarios...

I GMed 8 different scenarios in 10 slots last year. I'm very cognizant of the difficulties of GMing many different scenarios. I am scheduling 2-3 different scenarios max per person unless they advise otherwise.

In my experience running one mod a lot. It just gets better each time because you are even more familiar with it, and thus can give your players at the end even more of your GM attention. That, and I find the different ways groups handle the problems set before them entertaining. Usually after a scenario I relay them ways other groups handled things that were of note.

Fair point. I also don't think I'll ever get tired of running We Be Goblins, so perhaps these scenarios will be in the same vein.

Mr. Thacker, I would love to play in one of your games! This will be my groups 1st gencon (I have tried to talk them into it for years) and I'm not sure how event tickets work for GM specific slots. Is that possible or is it luck of the GM draw? As an aside, I would love to see some pics of your new gaming room I have heard so much about on KD.

I'm looking forward to running some tables at GenCon again. I definently like the shift to GMs only having to run the same scenario repeatedly instead of having to prepare a different scenario for each table. It allows GMs such as myself to be super prepared for a couple scenarios and making them the best they can be rather then being all over the place, and trying to remember potentially dozens of encounters and other bits of information that comes with running a scenario.

I'm pretty sure it is luck of the GM Draw, ESPECIALLY for the special because every GM (or ALMOST) will be running the same thing in that slot. If you really really wanted your best chance to be at one of my tables, you would have much better chances picking one of my other slots, because usually only 1 or two GMs run the same thing at the same time.

Now that said... they've got me scheduled for a bunch of First Steps, and they may have a lot more of those, as it is the entry point for new players.

I'll get some pictures uploaded of the work in progress soon on KD.

Slight correction. Your TABLE has to do well in the first part, not your PC. Meaning, *gasp* tables might be forced to work together to get to Part 2.

I will probably get to play or run it at M-Dog, U-Con, or DragonCon as long as it doesn't have crazy table requirements. I hope it's a 3+ again.
