Whack-a-mole? Are you kidding me?

The Exchange

I am sorry to have posted on your board in a manner you find inappropriate. I understand there has been problems in the past concerning flames and threads but if I am inconveniencing anyone I can really drop out of this scene, altogether.

Leaving the forums altogether seems like an over-reaction, at least if you're referring to one of your recent threads being locked. Several similar threads have been locked today, with the same reason given; Paizo simply wants the discussion related to 5th edition kept in their 4th edition forum (likely until they create a 5th edition forum for such posts).

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

If this is about threads relating to 5th edition/Wizards of the Coast/4th edition-type stuff being locked outside the 4th edition forum, that's really only so we can keep track of what have the potential to be contentious trainwrecks. If you've posted something in a locked thread, please feel free to repost it in a thread in the 4th edition forum.

If it's something else, maybe send me an email so there's less public drama?

And, also, I, for one, would appreciate it if you'd put 5e or something in your thread title, if you simply MUST bring this crap out of the 4e forum.
That way I can just hide your thread without reading it, like I unfortunately did with this one.
Remember; only YOU can prevent edition wars.

The Exchange

I believe I posted in the appropriate forums.

But no, I was not posting about 5th Edition or any one particular Edition. Definitely the news about 5th Edition sparked me to post.

Edition Wars are such a cliche though and if the dialogue is about Wizards of the Coast does not mean necessarily it is an Edition Wars issue or categorized as their latest edition.

I suppose you should create a Wizards of the Coast thread but then that would not work. Just more trolling to do.

Boxing me into 5th Edition/4th Edition/Edition Wars just does not describe how I feel about a general thought about the industry leader (if that is what Paizo still chooses to call them). As for me, I like them right where they are in the rear view mirror.

You can't please everyone I suppose and being admin of a messageboard where people blab up disasters that turn heated cannot be fun to deal with.

Regardless, I am just taking my thoughts elsewhere.

And as far as drama goes, why lock a thread when you can just move them quietly? The idea of posting the same thing twice is rather humiliating.

I generally never lock threads on my site as a rule but I don't see traffic like you do either.

You guys are a business and I am sure there are more depraved posters that sling insults when they see an opportunity. You must see it in the distance before they even come to fruition.

My posting days are over on these boards other than to inform about Pathfinder Chronicler or ask questions about shipments.

Other than that, who cares what I had to say anyway. The sooner I stop clogging the door the better off everyone will be in dealing with the real problems.

Fine, just put 5e in your thread title, and that way I can close it like I closed the 4e section, and will close the 5e section whenever that gets made.
Remember: only YOU can prevent Edition Wars.

I prefer Whack-a-Smurf.

Too late. I did all I could, but the Edition Wars are on now. I blame TOZ.

I blame Skynet.

And Danny Devito.

What did I do?

I would whack a mole, but homo sapiens are so much more delectable.

Everything. Forget Cosmo. Blame TOZ.

...Or Gorbacz. Or Kelsey. It's usually one of us.

You changed your de-facto avatar.

Worst mistake you ever made. I mean a sketchy, hooded figure like yours, who wouldn't blame you!

But mostly you. :)

I had this whole thing mellowed out, until you showed up with the little blue man with the trumpet: the first trumpet of Revelation........ "And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth" burning a third of the interwebz flora, scorching all green grass."

I'm just glad Gary gave us all the hide thread rapture button.

Shadow Lodge

Oh, I like Revelations. Good fiction.

You have a very eclectic Borg Collective.

Why do you think the Mayans chose 2012?

This edition war is going to end the interwebz.

It's that interesting.

Blame TOZ, Gorbacz, Kelsey... Weren't there a 3rd edition campaign that involved cult of three Greyhawk deities of evil truing to merge them into one Uberevil deity? Maybe we could meld you three into Uberblame deity?

Also, have anyone seen KaeYoss recently?

And TOZ started it all. He is the Omega and the Omega and the Omega.....I shoulda seen it coming.

He's starring in a rock opera about the Angry German Kid in Munchen. Nina Hagen plays his mother.

Allright; I'm quitting before Gary has to delete 75 posts or something.
I'm the reason he hasn't finished designing the positronic brain.

That we do. Between TOZ, the master of snark and sarcasm, Gorbacz's sheer aggression, and my emotional instability and hunger for attention, we have the capacity to do amazing things. That's not necessarily good, though.

Thanks. I nearly choked laughing and now have bits of blueberry muffin stuck in my nose.

Fixed that for you ;)

By now you should know better than eat while reading thread on this forum that was threadjacked by happy paizo team*.

Damn. Wasted bits of muffin.

Spoiler:
i.e. anyone willing to threadjack, derail, make off-topic comments, emanate pure snarkines, emanate impure snarkines. I won't point fingers at anyone who qualify.

Goading, baiting and flame-baiting is allowed, as long as one is willing to suffer results of that actions(or is unable to protect oneself from them).

Does this mean Zuxius won't be bringing yummy brewskis for the Paizonians at the 'con? Or will he simply deny Gary any foamy goodness? Oh, the drama!

I went back and read the post that the OPer was upset about getting locked up. By the end of it I was hearing it in Bobcat's voice from the movie Scrooged. LOL

The Exchange

No drama here guys. The word is simply insulting. If you have any respect for me let this post just sink to the bottom.

To answer your question about beer.

Paizo rented all the deluxe suites. I can't host my beer party in their hotel choice. You cannot serve beer in the conference rooms unless it is served by the hotel and they will only serve their beer. I really don't want to host it off site either. I will just have to enjoy this PaizoCon in a different way.

So, no beer this year.

All I want is, if somebody simply must talk about 5e outside of the 4e forum, then they be nice enough to title the thread "5e" somehow, so I can just close it from the git go.

Then, I won't be involved. See, I'm involved now.

Shadow Lodge

Don't go away mad! Just go away!

Also, don't go away and then come back to respond. That just makes it confusing.

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Telling people to go away isn't cool, even if you're joking.

Shadow Lodge

What if I put my blue face on?

(Emphasis mine.) Actually, they're not on these forums. Please don't do these things.

Shadow Lodge

Basically, do the opposite of what I do, and you'll be fine. Mostly.
