When does a fireball take affect, when a sorcerer applies a meta magic feat to it?
Examply say Sorc wins initive and casts an intensified fireball, when does the fireball happen?
I dont remember where the quote is, but I'm 99.99% certain that a spell that takes 1 round to cast and a metamagicked spell which takes a full-round action to cast are not the same thing. The fireball should go off on your turn, after you finish the action.
Spontaneous Metafocus will fix this for you though.

This is correct. You can also take a 5-ft step and do a swift action (like a quickened spell) either before or after you've cast your intensified fireball.
If you're trying to cast the intensified fireball in the surprise round, it'll take the surprise round and the standard action of your next turn as well. I'd suggest avoiding that and waiting until the first full action or getting Spontaneous Metafocus as KrispyXIV suggested.

I grabbed Spontaneous metafoucs this is my first time playing a blaster ( I know suboptimal but I wanted to just blow things up) now on to ways to get better inititive.
Suboptimal is relative. And if you try really hard (IE, look at Magical Lineage (fireball) then Slap Dazing on it; or Dazing Wall of Fire) you can make sure that even blasting, you'll contribute just fine.
On reflection, just bear in mind Dazing Spell; its pretty much pure win.

I did grab magical liniage, I hadnt though abgout dazing spell but it is pretty great, I will definatly be picking that up.
my gm has ruled that an empowerd intensified fireball throws a max of 22d6 add the fact that I have +2 dmg per die ( cross blodded, draconic primal) I think its something like 121 average damage before save if save 60. So I am happy with that at this level.

Dazing is ridiculously good. It has been banned in all the games I play in :(. If your DM allows you to have it, take it and run with it! Also at 15th, pick up Spell Perfection (fireball) so you can apply a metamagic feat that you know to fireball at no cost (no pluses to spell slot level, no additional cast time). It would allow you to cast an intensified dazing fireball as a 4th level spell, for example.
