My group is using the beginners box, but one has asked for a ranger character. Any chance that you could release a three or four page suppliment for rangers (in a way similar to the barbarian class in the download).
Thanks!
PS. Maybe you could add half elves to that new suppliment? He really wanted to play one...
Thanks again!

They already did: Rangers and half elves.
Might look under core rulebook, advanced player's guide, ultimate magic, or ultimate combat too.
This isn't to be a jerk, just to point out that what you have in the box set is a stripped down version of the original game... if you want more material look to the original game material for it.
My opinion at least.

Yeah, it's unforuntate for you, but it's serving exactly the purpose they intend (and I applaud that): the Beginner Box, while it is 100% meant to be an enjoyable, stand-alone game, is also meant to whet people's appetite for the full Pathfinder system.
And believe me, I understand the cash-strapped thing. It's not such fun deciding which bills you'll pay this month :)

The only real drawback with using the Ranger class for the Beginner's Box is that Survival isn't listed as a skill.
No problem. Either add Survival as a new skill to a blank character sheet for the Ranger, or substituting Survival with a related skill, probably Knowledge (Nature), should work just as well for the purposes of a Beginner Box game. You might even allow the Ranger to use his WIS mod instead of his INT for Knowledge (Nature) checks, so that it more closely resembles the Ranger's Survival skill.

I think it's more about the underlying cause. I know whenever I had a money shortage, I was concerned more about that than whether I can pay any bills. That's secondary. (Of course, those times I had money shortages I didn't have to completely fend for myself, and I never buy anything I cannot afford with the money I have right now, unless it's something that is vital to my survival - and that hasn't happened yet).
Otherwise, this can be great fun for the one paying the bills. Those waiting to be paid, not so much.
"Dear Creditor(s),
You know how it is in this economy: Paying every bill is just not feasible. So I won't.
This letter is not meant to inform you that I won't pay yours. Or that I will. I just want to inform you of the process:
I'm having a bill lottery!
I put all the bills I have to bay into a box. Then, I draw one out and pay it. If I have money left, I draw another.
Calling a lottery doesn't do it justice, really. The number of bills I still have to pay is a lot smaller than the possibilities in a lottery, so your chances of being payed this year, or even this month, are a lot better than with the lottery!
Fingers crossed!
Yours sincerely,
Debtor."
Unless you owe money to the Mafia. Those guys have entirely the wrong sense of humour when it comes to things like that. Seriously: You don't want to know what makes them laugh when you owe them money...

Paizo already said that they won't do any more classes or races, since the point to the whole Beginner's Box thing is that they have a smaller amount of classes, races and levels (well, and everything else).
That means if you/we want more classes or whatever, we have to do it ourselves.
And of course, everyone has to decide for himself how much is too much. How much means it's time to move on to the full game.

Okay. Thanks everyone. As I said before, it's a combo between being cheap and liking the format of the beginners box classes.
Now, I have two questions:
--when did Paizo say they would do no more classes or races? (not that I don't believe you, but I looked around and couldn't find such terminology.)
--could we, as users of the SRD, under the restrictions therein, make our own Ranger class guide that resembles the ones in the beginners box (and the Barbarian in the download) and then post it here on the boards?

The rules are OGL so as long as you have your section 15.
You couldn't copy the trade dress or design though, as that's probably product identity.

If you are building a simpler, Ranger "Basic", you might consider referencing the PRD version rather than the d20pfsrd. It's the same stuff, but the PRD version is a lot less complicated because it doesn't have content from APG/ Ultimate Magic/ Ultimate Combat blended in.

Another take at adding Ranger-like class for BB: http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/pathfinderR PG/houseRules/beginnerBoxExpandedCharacterClassOptionsWorkInProgress
When you cut and paste it, a space shows up between the "R" and the "PG" in "Pathfinder RPG"--take that out and it works!
And thanks!
