Which classes to suggest to 4th player?

Advice

Im DMing carrion crown. Currently 3 players, level 2, soon trying to get through harrowstone.
Standard Monk, str 16, human, power attack, 6 skill points, AC 15
Cleric, Desna, human (or whichever godess it was with travel and 2 other awesome domains), str 12, AC 17, 2 skill points
Sorceror, gnome, str 5, AC 12, 3 skill points (but has cha 20,so can armor himself and monk up by 4)

They are rightly worried they might lack meele power, especially meele tanking. Though currently they lack a bit skills in survival and a few others maybe (monk having stealth, acrobatics, perception and so on, the others not having skill points for anything).

My list for suggestion for the 4th player koining would be in order of preference:

Barbarian, Ranger, Fighter, Gunslinger, close-combat Druid.

Anyone further suggestions?

Dark Archive

Fighter, barbarian or Rogue, probably Rogue, although Ranger could do really well depending on favored enemy.

I would say Fighter, Paladin, Barbarian or Cleric (with the proper domains), depending on what the person in question wants. In the end, it's up to him/her what kind of character he/she wants, right? I wouldn't stop him from picking a Wizard if he really wants to play one, but that would need to be discussed with the group as well.

Aristocrat/Master Chymist! They will never see it coming!!

I would never stop him, but some things in the AP might do so. By suggesting a list i can incline him in a certain direction.

Yeah it seems like they need a damage dealer/soak. TW Fighter/Invulnerable Rager Barbarian/Paladin. Maybe a Half-Orc Toothy Thug Rogue with a Falchion, otherwise I'd avoid rogue.

Doesn't matter what the party needs, or what other people think they should play, the correct answer to this question always has been and always will be, WHAT EVER THE PLAYER DECIDES ON.

I would suggest adding inquisitor and samurai to that list. They can both be pretty nasty front-liners :-)

We are currently in that same one.

Our paladin with a bit of intel and the education trait (or something like that) is prob our most effective person at the moment.

Summoner. Let the sorceror put mage armor on the eidolon and let it tank.

Liberty's Edge

Magus. Fairly competent at melee in general, with the ability to really dish it out when he needs to.

I kinda dig this.

Summoner would be good, I would add archaeology bard too.

Ranger trapper would also be an excellent choice.

Rogue with bandit, thug, or swashbuckler archetypes would be a possibility.

The Exchange

A cavalier might do well. But with a focus on the teamwork-feat and challenge aspects, not the mounted combat aspects.

Come to that, the fighter (or an APG fighter archetype) might round out the group nicely.
