My race conversion: Dragonborn!

Advanced Race Guide Playtest

Dragonborn of Apsu

A noble draconic race, comprised of humanoids who willingly undergo the Rite of Rebirth, a ritual where they become a completely new being, dedicated to the destruction of evil dragonkind.

Becoming dragonborn replaces ALL previous racial features, and replaces them with the following traits:

Abilities: +2 Con, +2 Cha -2 Dex. Dragonborn are hearty, healthy, and charming, but they are awkward in their newly adopted bodies.

Humanoid (dragonblood): for all effect related to race, a dragonborn is considered a dragon and a member of her original race.

Ancient Foe: Dragonborn gain a +2 Dodge bonus to AC aginst dragons. Dragonborn have an innate sense of how best to defend themselves against their potential enemies.

Immunity to Frightful Presence: Dragonborn are immune to the Frightful Presence ability of dragons, but not of other creatures with the ability.

Wings: A Dragonborn possesses fully formed wings, granting them a fly speed of 30 feet with clumsy maneuverability.

Languages: A Dragonborn gains the ability to speak draconic after their transformation, but does not lose any languages she already knew.

Standard Modifiers: 0RP
Speed normal: 0RP
Humanoid (dragonblood): 0RP
Ancient Foe (dragons): 3RP
Languages: (gain Draconic) 1RP*
Immunity to Frightful Prescence: 2RP*
Flight: 4RP

Total: 10RP

*Wasn't really sure if just gaining 1 language was worth a RP, and not sure if Immunity to Frightful Presence was only worth 2, but they balance each other out i think.

Immunity To Frightful Presence is very situational and I don't think that it should be worth 2 RP. 1 RP at best, and if there were fractional RP I would give it 0.5 RP.

Sadly Wings aren't available for standard races. Advanced I think.

More importantly do they have booked?

i know it's an advanced trait, but this is an advanced race. no-one is born Dragonborn, they become dragonborn.

In the original race they had choice of 3 traits: wings (which started out only giving you a bonus to jumps, and progressed to fully fledged flight at 12th level), Heart (gave you a breath weapon that advanced in damage as you gained levels), and Mind (which gave you darkvision to start, but eventually edvanced to blindsense at 15th)

Now, abilities like that were all a bit beyond the scope of these playtest rules, but given how long it takes those abilities to 'mature', i'm sure that 4RP is a fine level of costing for each one. (maybe more, but as Drajk said, i probably did overprice immunity to FP.)

I mainly did this to prove to myself that the dragonborn were 'balanced' against core, but THAT argument is already raging across the land...

What?

is dragonBORN really the best name then?

I feel the name is appropriate, they are reBORN as DRAGONkind.

I didn't create the race, i was just using the playtest rules to pathfinder-ise the original 3.5 dragonborn

I was kinda assuming that everyone would understand that, sorry!
