Okay, now that the Blakros Museum has been in THREE Society Scenarios and is a somewhat beloved location, why is there not a flipmat of it yet? I for one would love one, or perhaps even a Map Pack of Museum Rooms...
Any chance?
And isn't there a fourth on the way?
Flip-mat, says I!

I would love a Flip mat of Blakros, with the other side either the basement level from Voice in the Void or the hidden temple below that from the same scenario. And maybe a Map Pack of the Basement and Sub-basement if it isn't the flip-side. Or even a Map pack of variant rooms, including a big Pyramid to add to the main room! This has some awesome possibilities!

I would buy something like this in a heartbeat....

I would prefer a map pack, so you don't have to deal with an oversized flip-mat, and can put rooms out as the players encounter them.
Bwhahaha!
Something I've found that's good for obscuring pre-printed flip-mats: Black window marker. Smear it all over the flip-mat & let dry before the session, then a damp paper towel to remove it for the reveal. In bigger rooms, it's even useful for visibility ranges. It takes some care not to get too messy, but it worked very well imo...

I have to agree that a flip-mat map pack combo would be of use here. It night also be of use in Carrion Crown's Trial of the Beast (university lecture hall/museum area) and a few other AP settings.
Preferably by the time this one is lined up some use for it with an AP could be added as well.
I definitely agree that such a flip-mat and map pack would be extremely attractive to PFS GMs. Give a few other uses within an AP line and this is a great resource.

I have been wondering about this myself... until today. I just ran Mists of Mwangi for the first time in years and went to draw it on a flip mat when I realized that it was 34 squares long by 24 wide. That put it 4 squares too long for a flip mat.
I'm sure they could cut the size of the biggest rooms to make it fit.

Late reply to this, but my favourite solution is to cut paper to the correct size to cover the unexplored area. I use a 3M "removable" glue-stick to hold it in place. This basically turns it into a giant post-it note so it doesn't slide around accidentally.
Oh, and I agree that we need a flip-mat of the Blakros Museum!

I wish they would. I know three points where you could cut one square each. That last square is going to be a bit tougher but, not impossible. I would like to see the mat wit hthe ground floor on one side and the basement on the other with a map pack for the upper floors.

There are a few issues with the Blakros museum flip-mat.
The map does not fit on the 30x24 inch flip-mat dimensions.
Changing the art would require permission and hiring the artist to redo the map.
I'm not sure if this is the issue or if there is another reason there is no Blakros museum flip-mat, but it seems the most logical to me.

I have drawn the map semi-permanently onto the back of a flip mat. I believe the only change I had to make was adjusting the size of the entry hallway, which is encounter free. My memory may fail me on this but it certainly works.
Your reasoning makes sense though with regard to the commissioned art, but I imagine they usually pay for new art for the flip-mats. I was assuming they could pull off a generic museum that had the same number of rooms but new art.

I am making an assumption here that while the artist may hold some rights to the art, Paizo would certainly own the rights to the concept and dimensions of the Blakros museum. An interesting question.
No one owns "the rights" to the dimensions or layout of a fictional museum. At best Paizo could make a copyright (or perhaps trademark? IANAL) claim on the name "Blackros," but that wouldn't stop someone from drawing and selling a map of the "Blackhall" museum all day long with the same dimensions as Blackros.

Right. That is what I was trying (and failing) to express, that Paizo had surely not given up the right to do this. You said it more clearly so thanks.
I did not intend to say that they could enforce that as a copyright against others. That would be silly.

It would. But I think I came across more harshly than intended there...sorry about that. I think GW going after people for using "space marine" got my knickers in a twist. ;-)

I've made myself a board that allows me to carry the Blackros Museum to conventions. If you are in the UK then it will be hard not to have seen it at some convention sooner or later.
Link: Blackros Museum 3D
I've even bought a smoke machine for added effect. Unfortunately no pictures uploaded yet. I could make some photos and turn them into a PDF that could be shared. Would it be best to have smaller ones with individual rooms or one large - or even various shots - like one looking into the hall with smoke billowing out?
I was contemplating to do this also to help PBP games as a resource.
Let me know your thoughts. My son will be GMming Voices in the Void in a weeks time and I could take advantage of that to prepare and make photos from different angles.
There have been two main reasons not doing it so far. Time and conflict if interest. The first boards were done solely as a fan of PFS and DF but a year ago I've become the European DF distributor and as such I treat carefully not to spam these pages here with content that can be seen as advertising for myself instead of fostering PFS (in the end you can't 100% deranged the two but at least I try to leave no bad impressions here).
Edit: oops - I thought this I'd in the PFS section and I offer help for fellow GMs. I don't want to compete - 3D and flip maps even work great together if you only own a single set as you have the map as basis and can build on it / accentuate key rooms.

Good point- I have only played in or run two of them. Mists of Mwangi, Voices in the Void... what is the third? Embarrassed I don't know this.

Penumbral Accords, Echos of the Overwatched, Blakros Matrimony. Only two use the first floor of the museum AFAIK.
When I draw the map I cut 10' from the entrance and 10' from the main exhibit hall.
