Alchemist Bomber / Archer build?

So I'm about to join a Drow campaing and will be playing an Alchemist.

I am considering a bomber guy then saw the discovery that lets you attach bombs to missle weapons. This gave me the idea of an Alchemist Archer type. Actually it gave me the idea of dart bombs (1dmg from tiny dart + 3d6dmg from bomb picture funny in my head) but bows are more useful.

I was thinking a 1 lvl dip into Rogue to get short bows, sneak attack (extra dmg is always nice)and the extra skill points or fighter for the feat and long bows but then you lose the skill points. I like skills. :D

I have visions of multi shot loaded with bombs in the future. ;)

Anyone give this a try? Effective? Ideas? Suggestions?

I actually really like the idea of the dart thrower. You can use your poison use class feature to poison your darts, so you explode people and make them feel sick!

Really works with the drow too, since they love to use poison.

Don't dip into rogue to get sneak attack. It's really hard to get that from ranged, which is what you'll be doing.

Well, turns out explosive missile doesn't work with darts.

I'm actually playing a very similar build right now. I'm using a light crossbow but with the explosive missile discovery. Right now, my alchemist is the highest dpr member of our group. My build uses cogntagons to buff int, which adds damage to bombs and any missile (such as crossbow bolts), but only if you take the focused shot feat. Having done so, my character does crossbow + bomb + 2x int mod for damage.

I would recommend going straight alchemist right now; the rogue wouldn't be that helpful really.

I was thinking the contagion stuff for a boost with focused shot. ;)

I was looking at the class dip for bows as magical ones are way more common than magic crossbows and the imagery worked better but I found Bracers of Lesser Archery. They let you use any bow. :D

Just keep in mind Focused Shot is a standard action. Really limits the awesome factor on it.

Someone suggested taking the Kirin Style from Ultimate Combat. It's three feats but gets you double the INT bonus on an attack.

Yeah, Focused shot and Explosive missile both take a standard action. I was hoping for a minute to be able to use them both!
