Brother Ottmar
ONly one problem Brother Ottmar, u don't get to add in all those stat bonuses until u buy each of them as u level. sorry. otherwise looks good
What? I don't get 1,000xp of free advances? You are cruel and capricious, Lord of Pain! lol
Guess I should read the rulebook a little closer. :o
I'll make appropriate changes and post them on Ottmar's character page. Thanks!!
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
HAHAHA well if u guys want to play THAT route ill just roll up a couple or 6 chaos chosen warriors and we can have a BALL game XD and by Ball game i mean they sever your heads and play baseball with your shaved sigmarite priest head ;D :P juuuust saying.
Also, again Wolfgang, we aren't rolling Random talents JUST yet :) don't worry we'll get to that as soon as recruitment is done, i promise :)
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Also Brother Ottmar, it is funny u call my younger Brother Daemon Lord of Chaos cruel and capricious because that's who Slaanesh is ;D ok so are there any more questions as I edit my applicants page so that I have most if not all of the named submited characters accounted for? also Wolfgang did u ever roll the 1d100 for the 80 and above questions?
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
On reflection, looks like you've plenty of interest and lord knows my plate is full enough as it is, so I'll fade into the observant background on this one.
I'll leave you with just one passing phrase: "Blood for the Blood God!"
Mark Sweetman
I've already got my fingers in quite a few pies - DM-ing four PbPs and playing in ten. So I can keep myself pretty busy even without another one, whereas some of the other applicants wouldn't have the same amount of games going - so would be better to 'spread the love' to a few more.
I appreciate the gesture to offer me the role of a Chaos god, but I'll pass for now. I'll keep an eye on the thread and help out on the rules side if you like, but will leave the playing to the other applicants.
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Actually yes, your possbility for the rakish young Wolfgang to know anything specific about Black Water the village or Bloody Vale, the area of 100 square miles u will be in for the campaign:) a 80 and above percent chance.
1 minor detail question if u get 80-89
2 minor detail questions if u get 90-94
1 Plot question if u get 95-99
1 Major Detail question if u get 100
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Wolfgang, having heard of this place through a few of his paid contacts, as I assume you would have some ears to the ground even out of your family's house, you are very much aware of one veyr DEADLY threat to this area known as the Bloody Vale, a detail u may want to share with your companions...or perhaps keep to yourself for now ;)
The rumors of greenskins ravaging and maruading through the countryside, burning, looting and slaying as they go are whispered among EACH and EVERYONE of your contacts. The rumors have it they are led by a ferocious Orc Warboss, whose name is somewhere between Boss Warfist, or Spine-Splitta.
For benefactors to the region, u hear veyr little. The Bloody Vale is quite isolated even from the Empire, and the local lord of the region cannot spare troops to combat the threats in his land, his focus being on the Chaos Incursion to the North, which your father or family might have a part in, on either side should u wish it :)
Eradico Pravus
...ok so are there any more questions as I edit my applicants page so that I have most if not all of the named submited characters accounted for?
Trying to wrap up my first character for play. Check Ottmar's character page as I have updated his stats to reflect proper beginning stats (please don't send the Demon Lords at me just yet!!).
Questions:
1. For my other two characters is it OK to make eight rolls and assign the results to the characteristics of my choice?
2. Rolled a 77 earlier for the "question" roll. Does that do anything for me?
3. Can you look at my character page and let me know if I can up any rolls from Shallya's mercy?
Thanks!! Looking forward to this!
Eradico
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
1. Yes U may do so as may everyone for ther replacement characters if they will be needed. Chaos Daemons are promised not to enter too soon, but i make no other promises against gruesome death, Wolfgang knows why ;D please no metagaming now.
2. Unfortuneatly no, Brother Ottmar simply knows that this place is dangerous, as is eveywhere else in the world, but at least the threat of chaos is much less than it normally WOULD be with the recent incursion in Kislev.
3. Actually u may assign Sigmar's and Shallya's mercies to two below 30 stats. i would suggest ur will power and intelligence, as they will be important later on as a clerical warrior type :)
Other than that, I am looking forwards to seeing you bringing Sigmar's Wrath onto the unfaithful ;D
Poor Wandering One
Mark, thanks for posting the student. I am sorry to see you go. If you feel things are too crowded I will drop. You are invested in the came and I am just exploring. I think you would add more to play than I would.

Aww i am sorry to hear that Klara, well good luck and hope u may join back in if u have the time :)
Also Wandering Soul, i value everyone who has joined in on this thread, it means a lot to a beginning GM like me. and i also think that eveyrone has a LOT they can add to the storyline and I am actually looking forwards to see how some of u will progress :)

Ok is there anyone still set on playing that would like to attempt starting a littler earlier than friday or would u all like to continue waiting for others to submit? only rreason i ask is that I currently am in "Game-Pending" and i have noticed that during this phase, a lot of players tend to bow out for "Game in Progress" situations. not saying anything at all to anyone, believe me, I would just like to be in "Progress" mode so that the players i have submitted ATM will be locked in :)
Thoughts?

Whether we start sooner or later makes no difference. I am LOCKED IN!!
I will finish up Brother Ottmar (description, equipment, backstory, etc.) tonight.
Changer, thanks for hosting this game. Really looking forward to it!
For Sigmar! For Empire!
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
At Marius :) the blessings are being able to replace a stat below the average roll of 11 with the 11. i allow two of them in my games, Shallyas and Sigmars, say u rolled a 22 on something and a 28 on something else. u can change BOTH of them to 31's :)
Also Slaanesh, if ur planning on running the Kithband like u were texting me about earlier, u know the drill as does anyone else, FULL backstory why ur elf is out of the forest enclave and etc. i assume set 3 will be him, so ur BS and AGI will be 10 higher on each. One reason why I dont like elves so much, they have NO negatives. then again i understand perfectly why so no one quote their abilities to me please :P
At everyone, because of Brother Ottmar, I appreciate you all being with me on this :D means a lot to a beginning GM and i will do everything in my power to make this as epic as i can. ;D and yes Brenog, u get a Sigmar's blessings to one other low stat :) unless u know u wanted to replace that ungodly high WS with an 11;D lolz just kidding, i LOVE the party we have right now.
Also, some editting on the area. The village you are staying in is on the shore of the Black Water Lake in the Black mountains, in the land of Averland.
And for the leveling system, we are using Mark's method from earlier, because that's the official leveling up system. U fully upgrade ur advanced schemes on stats, THEN spend xp to switch classes to a new career and master the new skills, talents and scheme now available, also requiring ALL trappings. and that's it :) ok! Vote on starting now or later GO!
OH! and Scranford, we have plenty of room for u so please come on back XD if ur still willing to play :)
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Ok for Slaanesh's character sheets, as he can't be online right now, accounting along w national guard recruitment going on...
SET 1: Human Bounty Hunter
SET 2: Human Road Warden
SET 3: Elf Kithband Warrior (My brother has played wood elves since Warhammer was first released, he has literally played nothing else save beastmen in the army game since he started playing. so expect a VERY good backstory for his elf.)
Me, Im a dwarf, always have been. If i was playing in this game, Id be a dwarf. either shield breaker, pit fighter or Troll Slayer. favorite classes. lolz and THATS why im not GMPCing this campaign :P u are all VERY welcome. NOW! to the VOTE!!!
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Ok for skills, just copy down the human skills off of Wolfgang, and then consult the student's skill list off of the link Mark gave u :)
Unfortuneatly the average adventurer knows NOTHING special of this area except the Elector COunt of Averland is North dealing with teh Chaos incursion near Middenheim w all of his troops leaving a skeleton guard at his keep, and no one to protect the realm he is tasked with.
I will need a 1d100 roll from u Marius as ur the only one not to roll a question. 80-89 is one simple question about the Bloody Vale. 90-95 is 2 questions, 96-99 is one plot question, and a 100 is a serious, crucial detail that only YOUR character knows and is up to you to share w the party at your convienence. like Wolfgang, u have the power to divulge the information, should Marius know it.
Also, since we are closing in on the beginning, all of u have been 'conscripted' more or less onto a baggage train, some as guards, some as travelers, to the Bloody Vale, by the only ruling official left in Averheim, the lord constable. How u were 'recruited' is up to u. my favorite is the ex-soldier who gets clubbed in an alley behind a low-town bar XD times call for desperate and drastic measures to quash the deathly rumors about the goings on in the area of the Bloody Vale, and the measures...is u guys. :) roll for me please Marius?
Marius Fenwick
Sorry I'm an idiot. Copy which skills?
And there are no skills listed in the spoiler Mark made for me.
Also is there a way to get equipment?
Here is the question roll 1d100 ⇒ 62
Not sure if I would be conscripted as infantry or as a clerk. All in all I think a clerk would be best.
And sorry to mention it again but the l33t/text speak is really annoying. Is this a deal breaker for you?
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Oh and by reviewing Brenog's page, I would like to point out some facts before the first combat ensues, its a bit into the game but it is rather early. I play by using the advanced armor system, and all rolls will be calculated for location, so armored vitals are key. Also there is a new rule I game under called the mounted calvary combat attacking.
If on foot and fighting someone on horseback and NOT wielding a two-handed weapon, polearm or other long-handled weapon, u may not socre hits on your opponent's head. All such hits transfer to the chest, all chest hits stay where they are, as well as arms, but if hit in the legs, the attack is 50/50 on instead striking the Body of the mount. cruel yes, but Horses were the casualties just as frequently as men who rode them in medieval combat.
We will get into if we will incorproate the tactical advantage of fighting on high ground(hills, cliffs, horseback) when we get past the first combat:) sound good to everyone?
and for those who do not know the advanced armor system it is in inverse proportion to the combat roll. EX a 15 turns into a 51 on the HIT chart:
1-15 Head
16-25 Right Arm
26-30 Left Arm
31-70 Chest
71-85 Right Leg
86-100 Left Leg
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Lolz all right let me go get the WFRP book umm where is it...Dang it Slaanesh stop stealing my manual to destruction of the lesser beings and the creepy overview of their entire lives!!! I mean...the rulebook XD
And no Marius, it is not a dealbreaker, I simply have been texting too much XD curse of our generation I promise I will get better because I do NOT want my bad typing skills to lead to misinterpretation and thus a deal-breaker for YOU as a player. I want my players to enjoy the world I set up, and I know where you are coming from believe me.
Now to hunt Slaanesh down through the realms of Chaos and retrieve my manual of...I mean the book. and by realms of Chaos, I mean the house we live in with the ninja-cat who is currently in the Kill-Point season year-round XD
If anyone is interested the tally stands thus until I dare go outside my room.
ME killed: 25 this month
BROTHER killed: 26 this month
My Dog Boomer: 72 this past 2 months

HA! Avoided the claws of death...for now. OK
Marius, as a student you start with ALL of these skills:
Academic Knowledge: Arts, Astronomy, Daemonology, Engineering, Heraldry/Genealogy, History, Law, Magic, Necromancy, Philiosophy, Runes, Science, Strategy/Tactics and Theology (any 2) *Intelligence*
Charm *Fellowship* or Consume Alchohol *Toughness*(Choose one)
Heal *Intelligence* or Search *Intelligence* (choose one)
Perception *Intelligence*
Read/Write *Intelligence*
Speak Language (Classical)*Intelligence*
Speak Language (Reikspiel) *unneeded because you are Human*
As a Human you start with THESE skills also
Speak Language (Reikspiel) *the Common tongue of the Empire* *Intelligence*
Common Knowledge (The Empire) *Intelligence*
Gossip *Fellowship*
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
ALl players in WFRP start with the same BASIC gear before adding in trappings. These include:
Basic Traveling Supplies
Suit of regular Clothes *WORN*
Leather Boots (Not Armor)
Leather Gloves (Not Armor)
Cloak w/Hood
1d10 Gold Pieces
Hand Weapon
PLayers who want to opt for an exchange for handweapon are always appreciated as well as considered by me to be realistic adventurers starting out w some of the careers in the books. A tavern wench isn't likely to carry around a sword starting off in the grim world of adventuring, but she WOULD have a dagger, obviously.
It is up to you if you want to have your student start with only a dagger for weaponry at first, the choice is yours :) if he took to carrying a sword, or perhaps took up dueling at the Academy, IE one of the greatest Empire heroes of all time, Felix Jaeger, author of My Adventures with Gotrek series in Altdorf, the best-selling many volume manuscript this decade.
Anyways enough about my favorite book series...
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
Trappings, or the tools of the trade you occupy before setting off on your adventures, are pieces of equipment your class has to start with. Such as armor, a shield, maybe even a horse or etc.
For a student, Marius, your trappings are:
Two Textbooks corresponding to Chosen Knowledge Skills
Writing Kit.
Yes your trappings are nothing special but they MAKE a character sometimes, as well as giving them a hobby or even something they swear they will never return to.
Fielded a Veteren in an old campaign that had to have a bottle of Spirits to take the class. The character was he committed a terrible crime while drunk, and thus swore off of alchohol all together, but kept a full bottle with him at all times to remind himself of the good he needed to do in the world to make himself feel any better about what he did. One of my favorite PC's ever. Sadly...he moved:( and just before the boss fight too.
THese are all examples of what your characters can act or express themselves with, and negotiations will be taken under consideration for Trappings you find repellant or do not fit the character. These do NOT include, say, the Knight of the Inner Circle advanced class requiring a suit of Masterwork Plate armor as one of his trappings. You need that armor to become one of the Knights, but I am open to good, well-thought out suggestions on future trappings :)
Brother Ottmar
Wow, Changer, thanks for the expanded background info. I need to incorporate some of that w/my character. Ottmar's origin story is in my head but not written down yet.
Please double-check my updated stats on the character page.
Like I said I need to clean up the character sheet somewhat but as far as I'm concerned: GAME ON!
Tzeentch the Changer of Ways
The only thing i will dot to add is that normally Intitiates of Sigmar wield warhammers as te symbol of Sigmar and the Emperor. However. I love using a good mace to bash in some hip bones and break some necks :) other than that small detail, which you are more than welcome to leave unchanged, everything I see so far is good,

A Talent is an ability your character receives through training or being born with it, such as coming from a lineage of noble warriors, gifting your character an increased knowledge of the art of war (Warrior-Born grants a permanent +5% to Weapon Skill)
Upon changing your career, you must also learn, not only the skills of the trade, but the special training that each person of that career recieves. For Marius' talents, you will start off with these:
Ettiquette (+10% on Gossip and Charm checks when dealing with Nobility) or Lingusitics (A natural affinity for Languages, +10% on all Read/Write and Speak Language Skill checks)
Saavy (A permanent +5% on your Intelligence) or Suave (A permanent +5% to your Fellowship)
Seasoned Traveler (+10% to all Common Knowledges and Speak Language checks) or Super Numerate (+10% on all Gambling and Navigation Checks, +20% on all Perception checks concerning estimation)
You must pick one of each of these three, as they are the special skills of the Student career. The choice of course is up to you, perhaps you forgo the Super Numerate, meaining you are incredibly gifted with numbers (ie. Gambling or Navigation), and instead take the Talent Seasoned Traveler, adding more character to Marius by saying that he is used to long periods on the road and are very skilled in being able to adapt to new surroundings and people. Hope these help :)

What is a Kithband?| Tzeentch the Changer of Ways |
Lolz Ok Marius I'll help you on the Wounds and Fate Points. What did you roll for both of them? There is a chart that determines how many you start with. BTW the Max Fate Point value is 5.
Also for a Kithband Warrior, it is not abandoning the Kithband, rather it is one of teh members being sent out into the world to explore or investigate an occurrence outside the forest. I do not know my brother's backstory for his elf but if I know him, it's going to be good.

Cool then I have no opinion. We could leave it to chance..1d3 ⇒ 3 so Kithband it is.
My roll for wounds was a 2 and for fate an 8. These were both on d10's what does the chart say?
