Hey everyone
My DM has recently asked our group to make some new characters in the event our old ones die or leave storywise. I have reason to believe that may be soon for me.
So I want to build a Pigknight =) I rolled stats 17,14,14,12,11,7
Here is what I came up with.
Leland Gray
Halfling lvl 6 Cavalier Order of the Sword
str 16, dex 14, con 14, Int 14, Wis 7, Cha 13
AC 23(24 vs ranged) 9 armor, 2 shield, 1 dex, 1 size, (1 deflection)
Masterwork Plate Mail
+1 Arrowcatching Buckler
Fort 10 - 5base, 2ability, 2magic, 1racial,
Ref 7 - 2base, 2ability, 2magic, 1racial
Will 5 - 2base, -2ability, 2magic, 1racial, 2class ability
+4 vs fear ( 2 banner 2 racial)
Feats - Mounted Combat, Ride by attack, spirited charge, power attack, precise strike(free teamwork)
Skills
4 ranks diplomacy, 6 ranks Handle animal, 6 ranks prof Animal Trainer,
6 ranks ride, 4 ranks sence motive, 6 ranks Knowledge Nobility, 4 ranks Craft Weaponsmithing
I took the Outrider alternate racial ability from APG
For equipment I went with the armor listed above + a +1 Lance, +2 cloak of resistance, masterwork sling staff, haversack and masterwork chain barding for my Boar mount.
For my Boar whom I named Boarthalomew I put the ability point in Int and for Feats I went with Nimble moves, acroboatic steps, and dodge for lots of chargy goodness no matter the terrain type.
I havn't gotten to play a cavalier yet so not sure if this would be a viable build. I wanted to see what you guys thought.

I'll recommend taking a few ranks off from HA and Prof and move that to Perception and Acrobatics and Ride. Feats look good assuming that is what you want to have...
Your cavalier looks good...cavaliers are "similar" to Paladin's in some respects...I have a Halfling Calavier (1)/Rogue (3) and my mount is a wolf..Cavs are very good if you play well their Order...advice is to take more Teamwork Feats to benefit your party especially when doing Challenges....

If you want the feats as far in as Spirited Charge, consider looking at the Gendarme archetype. This is a cavalier archetype that forgoes the situational aspects of the class to go all in on mounted combat.
You can get to spirited charge by 3rd level as a nonhuman (1st level as a human with the racial bonus feat), and you have the feats from there out to be available for other uses when you're not doing your mounted chages.

Heh-heh-heh.... (A fav I never played; steal it 'n run.)
Braggart Knight halfling who can actually back up his big talk (15,14,12,12,12,12 array pre-racial):
STR-13 (all bumps)
DEX+16 (wears scale, then upgrades to mithral breastplate)
CON:12
INT:12
WIS:12
CHA+14Traits: Berserker of the Society, Dangerously Curious
01 barb1 move+10, Raging Vitality
02 barb2 Reckless Abandon, Uncanny Dodge
03 cava1 Order of the Cockatrice, Boon Companion
04 cava2 STR>14, Dazzling Display (as a standard action!)
05 b3/c3 Mounted Combat
(mix barb3rd/4th and rest cavalier)Most players assume cavaliers multiclass better with paladins -- actually they're much better as barbarians because they're isn't a single class thing a cavalier does which requires concentration on social skills in combat other than the flavor text of them sacrificing armor-class -- which synergies well with dumping it anyway as a barbarian, and not caring if you're mounted with a reach weapon and getting AoOs. At 4th, a STR:18 raging halfling is getting a +3 (from CHA) Dazzling Display Intimidate checks against all opponents within 30' as a standard action -- and in the surprise round due to Uncanny Dodge...yikes!....and then he gets an even bigger bonus than normal versus them if they become shaken.
Alignment: CN, but pretends to be LN or even LG; doesn't care if Bluff attempts fail, and soon conveniently forgets said failures ever happened.
Mount: Wolf, which he claims is just a big, friendly riding dog: "He likes blueberry muffins -- but watch your hands!"
You can also take urban archetype barbarian from Ultimate Combat, and go all-DEX with agile weapons and Piranha Strike (instead of the boring old lance charge/Power Attack routine).
