During the last few months, I was blown away with two Paizo's products: Goblins of Golarion and Inner Sea Magic - and I would like to see more source books of that quality. I know that there's already a demand for "Inner Sea Combat" book and I would like to add my voice to the racket of happy customers who would like to give their hard earned money for that type of book. And what would be its content?
1)
a) Battlefields of the Inner Sea: Regions that are continuously in a state of war. (Border between Geb and Nex, Worldwound...)
b) Famous warriors and war leaders of the Inner Sea.
2) Different fighting traditions of the Inner Sea. Perhaps something like ranger fighting styles or special feat chains.
3) Fighting schools, organizations, mercenary companies...
4) New archetypes and PrCs specifically tied to the setting. Irrisen Frost Berserker, Ulfen Warg, Varisian Tattooed Fighter or Monk...
5) New stuff for melee classes: Rules for item sets, upgradable magic items, weapons with slots, like in Dragon Age or Diablo, ways to imbue ioun stones in weapons, armor and shields, or even some types of magic items into weapons (we already have the spell that imbues wand into sword)...
What would you like to see?

We're going to get a 64 page planetary sourcebook, so I'd love to see a planet-hopping AP one of these days.
I'd also like to see more of Golarion. We're already starting to do so, and that is awesome, but I'd love to see even more.

3 people marked this as a favorite. |

I don't really need any new Golarion-specific mechanics. What I would like is political and legal write-ups per country (or grouped continentally).
This probably isn't what the average player would want, but it would be a godsend for GMs. Not every product needs to involve new class mechanics, dungeon delving encounters, and hostile organisms. I get the appeal, but I would prefer some everyday information.

Champions of Purity - A book devoted to options for strongly good/celestial flavored characters of all classes, so that one can play a non-paladin character just as holy as any well-played paladin. Stuff like celestial totems for holy barbarians, good-aligned Qinggong monk powers, celestial-inspired martial art feats, stuff to tie a character to a specific type of celestial(azata, angel, etc.) thematically, and so forth.
Perhaps the same could be done for Champions of Balance and Corruption later down the line.
Humanoids of Golarion - A book dedicated entirely to helping players of "monster" races finding ways to fit into the setting, primarily through further fleshing out the cultures of these races and adding some more nuanced options that give them options outside of villain territory. Something that takes the player advice from Goblins of Golarion to heart rather than Orcs of Golarion. Offer real options and advice on how to fit these characters into a traditional party, and offer some options that add and support possibilities for these races rather than shut them down.
Throw in some neutral or even good-leaning tribes/societies these characters could come from. Stuff like that.
Inner Sea Combat - A book dedicated solely to the martial classes, their impact on Golarion, more flavorful and useful martial options, and coverage of the big martial movers and shakers in the setting, both in the present and through history.
Advanced Options - If Ultimate Equipment doesn't have it, and I hope it does, some alternate means for a monk to enhance his unarmed strike directly, by himself, not with a caster's help, without needing some flavor breaking piece of metal or an overpriced +5-capped AoMF. Something that allows a barehanded monk to use his whole body and not have his flurry funneled into nothing but punches. Something that actually maintains the monk's flavor. Please already.
Also, options for martial characters to rock without needing the Christmas Tree effect. If gearless monks are made possible through this, bonus.
Books of the Exalted - Celestial answer to the Book of the Damned series. Include ugly/scary/alien-looking celestials. Really rampe up the variety and weirdness of celestials. Give us some celestials at least as weird as the zoveri from Planescape.
Osirion Guide - A 64-page full blown guide to Osirion, complete with cultural details ranging from religion, politics, clothing, and so on.
Vudra Guide - Anything about Vudra. Anything. Also, psionics having a real presence.

Hmm...
Twilight Sparkle is a Wizard, a Sage-Sorcerer, or a Witch with a dragon familiar.
Applejack is a Ranger.
Rainbow Dash is a Ranger or a Fighter.
Fluttershy is a Druid (with a Barbarian level or two).
Rarity is a Sorcerer.
Pinkie Pie is a Bard.

I would add some kind of Golarion Hall of Fame, with famous and influential NPCs fully stated.
But I think that we'll have to wait for epic level rules for that.
I would second the vote for this one, but would 100% reject the idea it should have to wait until it is sold as an epic "who's who". If for no other reason than there are only a handful of true epics in a campaign world, but plenty of interesting folks of moderately high level within each kingdom that would make for fascinating reading and give excellent campaign feel and flavor.

......not so much focus on a fighting style per se, but definitely more on the various organizations.
5) New stuff for melee classes: Rules for item sets, upgradable magic items, weapons with slots, like in Dragon Age or Diablo, ways to imbue ioun stones in weapons, armor and shields, or even some types of magic items into weapons (we already have the spell that imbues wand into sword)...
....upgrade vs swap for something different, i like the idea and actually use something similar in my campaign already.

I wouldn't mind seeing more info on: Thuvia, Rahadoum, Nex, Geb, Jalmeray, and Qadira.
I also wouldn't mind seeing a series of modules or even an AP with lots of goblinoid action - especially more bugbears and hobgoblins.
Lastly, of course, I think we need a Zombies Revisited book, where they can finally stat up the Aberzombie.

I'd love a guide for any/all of the "fringe" nations of Golarion- Numeria, the Mana Wastes, Geb, Irrisen, the Worldwound, etc. Getting Rule of Fear was a great start, but I really want books for each of the nations that cater to a campaign that lays outside of the "core" fantasy world that I've always considered Cheliax, Andoran, Taldor, et al to cover.
Maybe they can do combined books if a given country doesn't seem likely- things like Nex/Geb, the Worldwound/Mendev, etc. Linked countries in a single book.

LizardMage |

A Draconomicon style book for Golarion. Not just Dragon's Revisited but a book that encompasses class archetypes that have draconic influence, feats, additional options for making our Dragons more dangerous. Possibly variant rules for dragon enemies with class levels that do not increase the CR to 20+.
More guides about the various nations.
Scalykind Revisited
Dinosaurs Revisited.
More info on the Runelords and Thassilonian magic.

id like to see a shoanti and azlant 20 lvls classes, for example: the totemist (a sort of caster like shaman but focused on shoanti people) or legatus: the impereal knight of the azlant, an so on

A few things I would really like to see are some sort of Epic Play Rules, preferably with some sort of examples Starstone quests for divinity. Not necessarily a full Epic Level book, but maybe something with a lot of ideas for, some more than basic rules for, and challenges/monsters for 20+ level play.
A book devoted to just alternate rules and play styles similar to WotC's Unearthed Arcana and Heroes of Series.
Possibly alternate settings (non-Golarion) and alternate time lines (for Golarion) such as how the world looked in more detail say 200 years ago, or during some of the major events, like the rising of the abomination that is current Cheliax. :)

Bigger sourcebooks on various nations, particularly Osirion and Qadira. I look at settings material about Hamunaptra (or Mulhorand or, heck, *real-world Egypt*) and Al-Qadim/Zakara and wish to see stuff like that about Osirion and Qadira.
Some sort of development on Thuvia. Right now, it seems to be a nation as large as Osirion, about which we primarily know one thing. They make a potion that stops your aging for a year. It's like reading a travelogue about the United States and the entire book being devoted to the production and sales of Coca-Cola.
Some development of Rahadoum where the writer, at one point, says 'yes' instead of 'no.' Commentary on this nation seems to focus on it being not somewhere you want to go (seems pretty useless for part of an adventure setting, neh?), how you can't do this and you can't do that and it's only 'LN' on paper, but 'CE' in practice.
Thuvia and Rahadoum, IMO, suffer from feeling like 'gimmick' countries. They've got *one* feature that stands out (sun orchid elixir / evil atheists), and it seems like everything about them revolves around that feature.
I feel like Cheliax and Andoran have gotten a lot of development (or, perhaps, just more evocative development?), and Taldor, Osirion and Qadira could use some time in the sun.
Taldor could veer from the most romantic notions of ancient Greece, to the more sordid depictions of Rome at the height of decay. That's a pretty rich palette to paint with.

![]() |

I think that Taldor is more based on the Byzantium than on ancient Greece. And it's hostility towards Qadira is a reflection of Byzantium's wars against Persia.
That said, Taldor is tragically underdeveloped. If it can in any way be compared with Byzantium Empire, than there is a lot of material that can be "ported" from our world's history.
Now, the question is - is there an interest for a Byzantium-like country in the USA, which is primary market for RPGs?

Mendev/Worldwound adventure path - This would deal with the crusades against the demonic hordes and potential underlying themes could be the oppression of a nation, factions and intrigue (mercenaries, holy warriors, natives, demons' allies, etc.), inquisitions and witch trials, celestials in different role (villain, ally, etc.), war, demons and their destructive creativity, and similar themes.
Support articles could be a mix of gazetteer, Heroes of Battle-style goodness (as in tools and advice for GMs on how to use war as a backdrop to adventures and how to make adventures out of battles and war), discussions on celestials and demons (including a list of Empyreal lords a la the list of demon lords in Second Darkness #6).
The Bestiary could include a couple of pages of NPC stat blocks relevant to the adventure path or campaigns set in a crusade-against-da-horde campaign.
Mendev/Worldwound sourcebook to go with the adventure path - See Rule of Fear and similar regional sourcebooks.
Dragon-centric adventure path - I'm a huge fan of dragons and I'd love to see an adventure path where dragons take center stage. I know dragons don't really interact with the world all that much but still, exceptions to rules and all that. :)

![]() |

Mendev/Worldwound adventure path - [snip] discussions on celestials and demons (including a list of Empyreal lords a la the list of demon lords in Second Darkness #6).
A Mendev AP would be a great place to detail knightly/paladinly/cavalier orders and clergy options for the various big name Empyreal Lords, as well as a selection of less well-known Empyreals.
Ditto some good-flavored stuff like 'holy oil' (combined effects of holy water and alchemical fire) or consecrated weapons (bones of holy champions worked into the hilt, allowing them to count as good for bypassing DR) or spells that conjure a cloudburst of holy water or magical holy symbols that add to healing effects, or increase damage when used to turn evil outsiders or whatever (or allow someone to do both at the same time, damaging evil outsiders in the area while healing allies).

![]() |

I'd also like material on Mendev. An AP, a setting book, whatever, (or all. . .).
I'd actually like some more info on Galt, again either (or both) an AP or just some in depth setting info.
Honestly for Rahadoum, I really couldn't care much. It is a partially interesting idea, but the fact is that it really cuts out too many classes to be that interesting to play with, without completely bypassing the in-game point of the area. I think it would probably be too much of a "world changing event" to have an adventure where the "divine" players and party infiltrates it, and I really don't see much other possibility besides it being a villianous plot element otherwise.

Ultimate Faith

The Complete Characters' series'nuff said
Those would be Pathfinder Roleplaying Game books, not Golarion books. Based on what has been said by Paizo I wouldn't get your hopes up on those.

I second this as well as the Numeria and Mana Waste setting books.
I would also not mind seeing a Galt book as well as an Iconic compendium somthing like a book with the stats of the Iconics at key levels like 1,5,7,10 etc as well as the Meet the iconic stories that were posted in the blog.
*stuff about ponies*
What is it about this? It seems to seep into every corner of the internet regardless of current topic, like some sort of technicolor kudzu vine. Not saying its bad or anything I've just never seen any other net meme spread this fast and far. [/Derail]

Maybe he would make a great writer on cosmology. After all, he has a lot of experience with... well, fish and buckets. Could bring in fresh ideas.

I would second more planar goodness for Golarion. I am a great fan of old Planes of Law/Planes of Chaos/Planes of Conflict books and I would love something like that done for Golarion/Pathfinder. I think that Lamashtu needs to be developed further, since she is basically a replacement for Lloth.
Also, I would love more stuff on Abraxas, since he is a keeper of forbidden knowledge.

Well Sean is a staff member now...
I really dig Ghostwalk, however I'm specifically talking about playing a dead character not on the material plane, and looking at Boneyard as more of a transitional plane. Sort more of a Robert Frost type thing except with more than two roads.
