That is the question of the day....

I don't know what this means.

Liberty's Edge

Erik Mona will understand. It's a Doctor Who thing....

He's hoping he isnt a yellow Kang.

Liberty's Edge

Why not both, like the Doctor?

The Exchange

Does he have Mel with him? A good companion can save the day you know?

I thought it was a Fantastic Four thing, as it's obvious that Erik Mona is Immortus.

You do realise that the name Kang is more likely to bring up the FF than Dr. Who?

OK then, my money is on Cosmo as DC's Time Trapper. And his mustache, currently awol, would be Starro.

So what does that make the PMG?

My immediate word association answer is "Power Girl."

But I find this answer (and whatever unknown subconscious machinations behind it) deeply troubling, even for a slaad brain.

hmmmmmmmmmm Power Girl!

Wait... you're saying Cosmo is Superboy Prime? Wow... I can't wait to see his revenge. ;-)

All this seventh Doctor talk is making me itchy.

If someone mentions the Happiness Patrol, I'm banning them.

So a self ban is in order? Is this a temp ban or a perma ban? Doesn't hitting one's self with a hammer hurt?

whats "Happiness Patrol"?

I'm confused... first you were talking about Mel, and then you were talking about good companions. I don't see the connection.

Clearly he was talking about Mels.

Too true, I should have said Ace. I mean she was competent and carried explosives!

I think the weeping angels are the coolest of the new villains. I would however wish they would bring back more of the older bad guys and well while I want a "doctor" to last a while. I am actually tired of Matt Smith, he is like the Doctor with ADHD while on speed. Although I loved that line while he was waiting for the painting to get done, "Is this how time moves for you? Slow and in the correct order?" Or something to that effect.

Oh I agree completely. They are one of the coolest and creepiest new villains. If Erik was one, however ... <shudder>

I haven't seen that one yet, it isn't available on DVD yet in the States. Just watched Paradise Towers for the first time last night. I figured that you would like the 7th Doctor, he was certainly more stable than the 6th one. And he got pretty cool and mysterious by the end of his run... His first episode with the Rani on the other hand, when she started acting like Mel...

Scary...

Vic may hate me for this; in fact a lot of ridicule is bound to come my way...but I actually like Mel. I think she never got a chance to prove herself and she gets a lot of hate from most Whovians. But she meant well, she screams well and she is kind of hot in a doe-eyed kind of way. I certainly liked her better than Kamelion or Romana I....

The Exchange

Thats like comparing Ace to Leela. Leela has a knife, would kill the Ripper in a chance Alleyway encounter, and goes on to be Mother of Gallifreyan-Humans and Ace is a suicide bomber.

Given that he's in his second season, he's probably at most got one more in him.

Future Season Spoiler:
Perhaps the dynamic will change once the Ponds leave the TARDIS for good by the end of this season. (both of the actors have announced that they've moved on to other projects)

I spoiler-tagged that last bit. Please use spoiler tags for anything related to future episodes or seasons that is anything other than speculative.

However, regarding your statement:

Future Season Spoiler:
Karen Gillan said at Comic-Con that she *is* continuing after the current season. Though it hasn't been confirmed to my knowledge, evidence is leading many to the conclusion that 2012 will be like 2010, with a handful of specials instead of a full season, and that's why she's got time to do other projects. (We'll apparently have a full season to celebrate the 60th anniversary in 2013.)

"Better than Kamelion" is not much of a selling point...

But I liked Romana 1!

All of this is all fine and well (Romana 1 was no doubt the reason so many wee Whovians suddenly regenerated into Teen Whovians, I must say), but it doesn't address one simple fact.

RED KANGS ARE BEST!

I was looking for the link that confirmed this, as I had heard the same and wanted to make sure I knew what I was talking about.

Spoiler:

Both Karen Gilliam and Arthur Darvill from what I remember, said that they would be back. Also that the 2012 season will actually be the late 2012/ early 2013 season with a few specials thrown in.

I have also heard that Matt Smith said he wanted at least another season as well as John Barrowman wanting to show up for the 60th anniversary show.

Damn right...13 episodes a season? Tom Baker did that fighting the Daleks and stomping on a Dalek Brain in Davros's Lab.

Genesis of the Daleks was 6 episodes. Point of fact, that season only had 20 episodes, and those were half-hours, so it was actually less than you'd get today.

If you want to go a bit further back, though, add Mission to the Unknown to The Daleks' Master Plan and that'll get you a 13-part Dalek story, as part of a season that ran 45 half-hour episodes.

Tom Baker was the longest at five, Peter Davison, taking Troughton's advice left at the end of his second season. Colin Baker was fired after his first, and I don't think Seventh lasted that much longer. The Eighth had exactly ONE appearance. Eccleston left after his first season and Tennant lasted four.

Tom Baker had seven. Davison had three. Colin did two (but I can see why you might mentally block out his second season). McCoy had three, though they were very short (14 half-hour episodes each). And Tennant had three plus a set of specials. You were right about McGann and Eccleston, though!

For the sake of completeness, Hartnell had a little more than three, Troughton a little less than three, and Pertwee had five. (So if deinol's "day" was 1970 to 1981, Doctors really did get 5-7 seasons in his day.)

I am really starting to get into Pertwee's Doctor. Been watching a lot of his stuff lately: The Peladon Eps, Terror of the Autons, The Sea Devils, etc. Gotta say the music is pretty horrible, but I like Pertwee's homages to James Bond and his flair for the dramatic.

Speaking of old Who actors. Peter Davidson joined the cast of Law and Order UK. While McCoy is busy filming the Hobbit, Not sure how big his part is, well I know the character he is playing just not how much PJ wrote him into the story.

Apparently, Martha (Freema Agyeman) is on there as well. Kind of a Doctor Who reunion.....

Paizo Employee Chief Creative Officer, Publisher

It seems obvious to me that they need to do a multi-Doctor Time War story with Paul McGann and others for the 60th anniversary.

You could easily find a way to incorporate most if not all of the living Doctors, and I'm willing to bet almost all of them would be game for it.

THIS IS THE GAME OF RASSILON!

I thought Tom Baker appeared in the most episodes but Sylvester McCoy was the longest serving Doctor by virtue of there being no one to replace him till the movie in 96.

It also has Jamie Bamber to make it Law & Order: NuWho/BSG/UK.
