Cool, thought 33 seemed a little high. Another question, are you changing any of the skills to pathfinder ones? Thinking mostly about perception, acrobatics and stealth.
Oh yeah - though I had mentioned that already. I think we should include all skill changes from Pathfinde except gather information which I would like to keep.
Ok, so 25 points buy, D20 Modern rules, but with pathfinder skills.
I'll begin working on something then.
If you don't mind I'm going to dip into d20 past and possibly the weapons locker as I doubt they'll have a statted out Mosin Nagant for me.
I have both books, so no problem :)
Mosin Nagant is in the D20 past book, along with the Suomi machine pistol (which made me happy).
After reading that backstory I'm super excited to see this guy in action...omfg...
Hahaha, Oskar and Gregori are going to get on like a burning building. Both heavy drinkers, both speak bad strongly accented english and they both hate each others country.
How did anyone think it was a good idea to put them in the same unit?
Don't worry someoen is bound to make some american or british character we can both hate with a burning passion.
Haha, I was actually playing around with the idea of making an English ex parson, or perhaps even better, an Irish one, who gets mightily upset if called British...or god forbid, English.
"What is eeeenglish God bothering man doing in unit? Is not getting any replies from big man and is no good at fighting? Soldier need be tough like bear, not talky and tea drinking like silly english."
Also, I had to change Oskar's avatar image because I realised it was exactly the same one used for Gregori. I see that as a good sign for some reason.
"Oi! Yah bloody wankah! Haws about I take this here bottle o' booze, break it o'er yore head and then shove it up your face!"
Haha, yeah, this is getting to sound a bit like a penal legion to me.
In fact, give us a hardnosed, tough talking sergeant that does things "his way, not quite the army’s way" And what we got is the dirty 1/2 Dousing.
Did I mention that I love the Wild Geese?^^

"Gregori sees God bothering man getting angry. Won't admit to himself that god is merely construct of bourgeoisie to oppress people. Gregori be thinking if loud english man stop talking to invisible man he fight like real man."
"Ah don’ think Gregor thinks at all, by tha’ smell of it, tha’ wind o yours is comin’ out tha’ other end."
Haha, the way things are going, I'd say it's a tossup who ends up as Maggot in this crew.
Question, if we are to confront the supernatural, does that mean that one might plan to take a magic based advanced class as well? Say becoming an Acolyte?
"Comrade goat lover has good point. English should stop shouting at man in sky and go kill bear with bare hands, then he be real man and not have imaginary friend like crazy child."
Here is the start of Oskar. No real background yet and the avatar is subject to change if I find a more fitting one.
A class with magic abilities surely wouldn't hurt :)

There are surely rumours about Nazi experiments that led to people who are able to use telekinetics etc.
Why shouldn't the allies also have such people? Nevertheless, it would be quite a shock to see such a person in action.
Hey, ZZ. I'm gonna have to back out of this one, for the time being at least. I have one too many irons in the fire and can't find my D20 Modern book either. If things change and you end up needing another, I'll be watching. Thanks and I'll see you 'round the campfire.
sad to hear that, Bilbo :/
that leaves us with 4 people confirmed, that would be ok, while not great...
If we end up with just the four we could maybe boost them up a bit. Extra feats or skillpoints or something?
We have to wait for Shunka I guess, otherwise, yeah, we can think about that.
I also thought about introducing a new skill "Know Military" since know tactics and know technology are rather vague, I think.
I've been watching from the sidelines and would be willing to throw my cap into the ring if you are open to it?
Have not played a D20 Modern game, but am an avid war history buff. I could go with either a beret wearing Frenchman, or a 'Fighting Jack Churchill'.
Yeah sure, very nice (I think I know you from voodoo's campaign), in our nationality potpourri there is surely a space left for a French or English guy :)
And an additional piece of information for our winter heroes from Finland and the USSR: our adventurous journey will start in the desert of North Africa :)

Communist home in any environment. Even if Gregori sweat like the place between a whore's legs and stink of irish preacher vomitting inside hot tank.
Gregori will surely be shot first in a fight...just to make him speak less :)
Oskar is enjoying desert, is needing to wear less camouflage. Can just wait til sweating and roll in sand and disguise like snowbear in winter. All sun mean good visibility too in Africa, no need use scope, use iron sights like real man.
Oskar looks like a really nice fellow :)
Depending on how fast Mark and BoggB get ready, we are able to start.
Should be able to rattle my guy out in the next 4 hours or so (just need to wait till my son is asleep).
Starting in Nth Africa is tempting me to run with an Aussie Desert Rat though.... will need to see what resonates with me as I build the guy up.
And yep - I'm the demented halfling in Voodoo's freeport campaign... plus a more centered Inquisitor of Milani in TarkXT's Council of Thieves.
These boards are much smaller than one might think at first glance:) Nice to make your acquaintance.
I should have hammered out the final details sometime this evening, as soon as I get home to my books.
Ok everyone, I have already started our game here, since I'm not sure I will still be around when you have finished your chars.
I wish us all a wondeful gaming time :)
Game Thread
Since I'm DMing a lot of other campaigns also, I have a common ooc thread for all of them Iand I would heartily welcome you to join the campfire
Campfire
Will check in later once he's mostly built. Will be my first D20 modern build, so will probably have a few teething issues.
I'm thinking more a skill type monkey as I think the strong / tough guys will be well represented :)
I still need to actually arm Gregori but that shouldn't take super long.
Does Gregori needs arms at all?
Zyren Zemerys wrote: Does Gregori needs arms at all? Is difficult to choke life out of enemy coward without arms.
Gregori would like gun as well.
Seeing as this is Pulpy action goodness are we worrying about ammo at all? Also all the generic things you need like tents and water and trail rations and all that good stuff. I just assumed that Oskar has all the basics in his pack but I can list it all if you want.
I've made a first pass over the character and I'm going to make him an Aussie, ex-Farmhand / Veterinarian turned Field Medic.
Just need to wade through the character sheet and will pop into the IC thread.
Ammunition is no problem in normal situations, but if you have to retreat into a bunker and fight for three days, I'll tell you when ammo is out..^^
Also the normal pack contains rations and tents and so on.
Oooh - looks like a different healer arrived!
I'll re-skin for a Charismatic type?
Haha, sorry for taking your role, but it almost sounds like we need an engineer more?
Heh - no problem, how about an ex-Farmhand who is a dab hand with the stuff that goes boom and bush mechanics
If Liam is the medic/thinker type that is also a very very good man to have along^^
Haha, oooh, I like things that go boom in the night.
Roger that Sarge - I'll put together a Smart Hero to cover Demo / Repair / Driving and a bunch of odds and sods.
I'll explain off his knowledge skills as more of a rustic idiot savant / perfect recall side of things.
