I didn't know where else to post this.
I've been having trouble printing the Jade Regent Player's Guide and I got an email today saying that the problem was fixed but when I re-downloaded the file and tried to print it I still can't. Who should I email or where should I post to get this problem fixed.

I haven't tried printing it, but when I got the email notice yesterday about the file being updated, I decided to download the updated file anyway. I noted that the Most Recent Update for the JRPG was given as August 2nd, which seemed odd given the email went out on the 17th.
Is the file in My (Our) Downloads actually the updated one?

This has already been raised in this thread.
But was it brought up before or after the "fix". I'm still having problems after the fix that was supposed to be uploaded on Wednesday.

Same issue for me: Added the file on 29 July, file last updated shows up as 27 July.
However, when I downloaded the file again earlier today, the new file was just 7.2 MiB instead of 8.2 MiB before, so something must have been changed…?

We did do another update today, when was the last time you downloaded the file?
I just tried to download and print the file again (2:00am on 08/20/11). I'm still having problems. After banging my head against a wall for a while I decided to try printing one page at a time and it seems like the issue is on the cover page (at least for me).
When I go to print I get the little text box that says it's flattening the page but it gets to about 70% and then glitches back to 40%, it then goes very slowly to 100% and gives me a message that there was an error in the PDF and no page was sent to the printer.
So there is still a problem, hopefully you guys can fix it soon.

I use Foxit PDF reader and "printed" to Cute PDF just as a test.
With the original JR Player Guide, Foxit just hung and I had to kill the process. With the latest (about an hour ago) Guide, the "printing" pop-up came up but it did take about 20 minutes for the "save as" pop-up and Foxit and Ghostscript drivers were at almost 50% each and my CPU was 100% pegged. It *did* complete, however.
Now I realize that printer drivers are a lot different than the Cute PDF / Ghostscript drivers, but this is just another data point.
Might I suggest downloading Foxit and give it a go with that. It is small, light and easily removable if it doesn't help.

The newest upload of this file was a completely new PDF exported out of InDesign. The file is compatible with Reader 5 and up. There shouldn't be a problem with the newer versions of Reader/Acrobat. We are still aware of this issue and there will be a notification when the problem is fixed or a solution is found.

Just tried to download it again and print it and I still get an error message saying "Document cannot print" "No pages were selected for printing".
I'm using Reader 10.x or something and WinXP.

Might I make an alternate suggestion.
If acrobat Reader is not working, but you have a copy of Photoshop (CS_X), you could use Photoshop to print the pages (one at a time, sucks but works). I had to do that once.
Reader and Flash are about the only products from Adobe I have (because their free). I just find it frustrating that Adobe Reader can't print a PDF file.

I'm sorry, what I meant was: it should work, but we are aware that it isn't. I'm still looking for a fix for this, which is difficult without knowing what is causing it. The people reporting the issue aren't on the same OS and are using different versions of Reader/Acrobat, so it's difficult to narrow down.

Hello Chris, Liz, and Ross,
I tried to print out the Jade Regent Player's Guide today, and I too experienced the same problem.
Turns out it is just the cover page for me as well. (I noticed a "hiccup" when my hp Printer "flattens" the page to print... it goes all the way up to about 48% then down to 43%.... back up to about 77%... then up to about 81%) before I get the message it can't be printed (no pages were selected). I more or less printed everything BUT the cover page. And I'll grant you... I don't NEED that cover page... but I sure would like to have it to complete the look of the Player's Guide.
I think I'm using the newest version of Adobe Reader (recently updated it about a month or so ago).
Should I try re-downloading the file again? Would that/does that work?
Thanks in advance for all your efforts.
