In my opinion, if you use language in a way unacceptable to the owners of a forum and they tell you not to, you shouldnt continue nor take it up with 'the general public'.
Send them an email if it really bugs you, imo. Internet forums are not democracies.
EDIT: It's a bit weird having my response appearing as the OP. Perhaps the whole thread should be deleted?

It is just a cultural thing. The meaning of the word in question has in our modern world gained the primary use of describing sexual assault. Just like the primary use of the word f$$+*~ is no longer to describe a match or small twig but a person of a certain sexual inclination in a derogatory way.
Its clearly controversial and it is best to just avoid controversy where it doesn't need to be addressed. I.e. no one is being hurt by the exclusion of a few words on a paizo forum. Especially when the words in question are used for defamation and not in a helpful or assisting way (the purpose of the forums).
Also there are terms you agree to when you make the account. Paizo is the owner of the forum so they make the rules that you agreed to likely without reading. Sorry about your luck it is just the way things are.

I have around fifteen thousand posts on a philosophy forum - we spend most of our time arguing about words and it's even an issue there. The moderators have various lines they wont allow to be crossed - it's not necessarily any judgement about you or the quality of the post you made, nor about the appropriateness of the language in the context of that specific post. I could easily be: 'That's not the kind of language we want here' even if what you specifically said wasnt inherently objectionable or unreasonable.

Basically the English language is dumb. The language is left up to so much interpretation, needs to have inflections mixed with it to give something a true meaning.
Ultimately its the moderators who have the say so on the way things are said. Its not fair in a world where we hold freedom of speech, freedom of sexuality, and freedom of choice so high. And lets no go down the path that the US (where I will assume the moderator is) is the land of the free. I also feel that we gamers are a more tolerant lot and that the things Snowcrash has mentioned were totally taken out of context.
If he had been derogatory towards an individual, or was puting in the context of the sexual nature of something he had done or was planning to do (in real life or even as far as in game), then I would agree.
Think not of the word - but the context of how it is placed. And lets be a little grown up about it.

As a side note (and totally unrelated), how does one become a SUPERSCRIBER as I have noted some of the people posting here are.
The English language isn't dumb, it can be heard spoken all the time...
There are two types of superscriber.
1. Paizo superscribers subscribe to every subscription line.
2. Pathfinder CS Superscribers subscribe to all of the world specific lines
If you wanted my tag you would have to add a Pathfinder Tales subscription, then your sig would say something like "Pathfinder Campaign Setting Superscriber, Pahfinder Roleplaying Game, Gamesmastery Maps Subscriber"

First there is a bikini contest, then you may put your best talent forwad"you do get extra points for this". Mine was chicken dancing. Oh your asking about something different. Sorry. Have a great day.

I'm not quite sure what to do with these threads. The original poster deleted their post after others had replied, so the system keeps the thread in place and shuffles the first reply into the top slot.
As to the removed posts, yes, if you use the word "rape" to describe anything other than sexual assault we will remove it. The specific dictionary example provided in defense of the removed usage was "rape of the countryside." The post we removed was not in fact using the word in this way.
The wording in that post was "rape this opportunity"—an opportunity to role play. I'm not generally a usage prescriptivist, but this is a frivolous use of a word that has very specific violent connotations, and any usage which serves to trivialize the very real, specific and traumatizing experiences of millions of people worldwide will continue to be removed from our messageboards. We will not bend on this rule.
Our policy when we do this is to email the poster with the contents of their post so it can be reworded to avoid the offending usage, so there are no issues of unfair censorship or arbitrary rules applying at play here. If any Paizo staff member had made the exact same post, we'd do the exact same thing.
