Gunslinger / Magus - can it work?

Hey folks,

I DMed Pathfinder for a while now and now it's time for me to actually play a character.

Since the Ultimate Combat is on its way I chose to play a gunslinger. Before I was in really deep love with the magus. So I made up my mind to combine those two.

Here is what I came up with:

Gunslinger 11/ Magus 9

Archetype: Pistolero, Kensai

Feats: Rapid Reload, Point-Blank Shot, Gunsmithing,Rapid Shot, Quick Draw, Gunmagus*, Weapon Focus (Pistol,Arcane Strike, Deadly Aim, Secret Stash Deed, Clustered Shot, Signature Deed (Up, close and deadly), Signature Deed (Secret Stash), Snap Shot, Signature Deed ( Bleeding Shot), Weapon Specialization

*Gunmagus is a homebrew feat which allows to use the magus' abilities with firearms.

Magus Arcanas: Arcane Accuracy, Prescient Attack

On level 20 I end with: +17/+12/+7/+2 BAB and unmodified saves of: +14/+11/+9

Since the feat Gunmagus allows me to cast and shoot/ channel spells through my weapon I want to be mainly a damagedealer.

Therefore I have chosen alle the feats to help me with it but I am not quite sure about it.

We are starting at level 6.

So I could need some more advices and tricks to play this build to its full strength. I know those classes may not seem optimal but I want to play a spellslinger - and really, the wizard archetype stinks! It doesn't get my idea of a gunmage at all tbh.

Why not just play a spellslinger? :P
Like multiclassing fighter and cleric for paladin, or fighter and wizard for magus :P

Well, Just one level of spellslinger for the Bonded Guns would be awesome, it'd allow you to boost your attacks with both spells and Arcana pool. Otherwise I'll have to see what else would be good

Stats are really huge. PB 28 if I remember correctly.

I got

Str 8
Dex 19 (+2 Human racial, +1 from level 4)
Con 14
Int 16
Wis 14
Cha 10

My planned split is Gunslinger 5/ Magus 1 since I really wanted to have that Pistol Training.

@ Spellslinger: I really, REALLY dislike him. He seems just flat and uninovative to me. Nothing I want to play. I see more in the Magusclass which has such great potential at being awesome while doing the same a Spellslinger could.

At the very least. SHE's a snappy dresser. nicely color coordinated.

Instead of the kensai, you could go with the Myrmidarch who can use Ranged Spellstrike.

Hi i was thinking of running a spell hub character?
I was thinking of running 1 lv spellslinger and the rest as kensai, but need some help.
Im going to use a bastard sword in 1 hand with a pistol in the other. My main question is...

If a Spellslinger can cast spells through there gun, plus channel arcane energy whilst using a 2 handed weapon, would it be right to say that this build would allow the character to use spellstrike with the sword, whilst still having the pistol in the off hand.

Im looking to build a character who can cast spells, fight in close and range and help outside combat.
Going down the Kirin Style feats to help with the combat side of things, and help outside of combat with knowledge rolls.

If you can help me please do.
