Not to be confused with the 6 to 9 other JRAP recruitment threads! :)
I'd like to start up a play-by-post game following the Jade Regent adventure path. I think it looks exciting, and I know there'll be more than a few people interested in this new series! I'm looking for a group of about 5-7 characters.
What I need... Like any good PbP game, the momentum comes from player inputs and interraction. I need players that can post regularly, at least once a day, to keep things moving along. I understand real life things come up, and they have priority. All I ask is that you let me know before you take an extended absence.
For the characters... If you're interested in joining, post your character concept here. Looking for a balanced party, of course, so finding an unfilled niche may improve your chances to make the final cut.
The campaign traits for JR are tied to the four Sandpoint NPCs detailed in the Player's Guide. Be sure to look them over carefully and include details on your relationship to them in your character concept. These relationships will play out through the run of the campaign.
I don't need the fully stat'd character now, but if you want to get a head start, use a 20-point build and average starting gold. Up front, all of the Paizo published products are in play. If you want to pull a class, PrC, feat, spell, etc from an older 3.5e product, ask me first.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm planning to start next weekend, depending on how many applicants come in.
Also, if you're putting your character concept up for more than one JR game, just let me know in advance.

Bpa144 |

I'd be interested in joining.
I'd be able to post at least once a day if not more, though I have to warn you this would be my first pbp game.
From a young age Bryan has always been interested in adventuring and hearing stories of adventure. This was mainly due to the stories his father would tell Bryan of his adventures. He eventually discovered that Ameiko had also been an adventurer and would constantly ask her for stories of her adventures. She would tell him some of her stories as well as stories she had heard of other adventurers. This led Bryan to idolize Ameiko.
Because of his interest in adventures, Bryan joined the militia at the age of 18. Now 20 he is eager for more action than he is currently getting and is waiting for the chance to be able to leave town and go on an adventure of his own.

Erefine |

I would love to play this! I really want to play a ninja and think he would fit into this very well.
Concept:
Xin as he is simply known was a small orhpan boy who one day while scrounging the fields around Sandpoint for food stumbled upon a a raiding party of goblins. Once spotted by the goblins he took an arrow to the back as he tried to run back to safety. Thinking himself dead he gave up on life when all of the sudden Shalelu came darting out of the trees and with grace dove over an enbankment and pulled Xin to safety before taking her bow and unleashing a storm of arrows killing them all. Shalelu took Xin back to town where he was tended to. Xin vowed to repay the favor and began to train himself in the secret art of ninjitsu.

Dotting for interest and putting in a partial application. Haven't read the Player's Guide so I may have to work on some things, but partial application follows.
[spoiler=Grellius Arcturus a.k.a. "Greatblade"]Life in the gladiator pits is hard going, but Grellius has been raised there since his childhood. Originally given a sword much too large for his childish body, Grellius earned his nickname as an insult to the unwieldliness of such a large blade for a 10 year old. The training since has been long and arduous, and none insult his blade anymore. Nightfall is a gift given by his master when he killed his first man in the pits, and ever since has been his sole true companion. After escaping with the help of a slave group, who taught him the value of subtlety over force, he has roamed the lands, hoping to keep any from the dark problems in his own life.[/spoiler]
Basically a large sized bastard sword wielding CG human barbarian. He would be extremely different from the standard barbarian, being quiet, withdrawn, thoughtful, thrifty, teetotalling and extremely conservative. Depending on how you personally rule on Heirloom Weapon, I'd be taking it for Nightfall, but would still get EWP for Bastard Sword to use it one handed (Still two handed since it's large size.) Would actually use the bastard sword much less than other weapons and likely multiclass into rogue at some point. Just throwing ideas out there. I love this character and would like to actually get to play him for once.
I'll read the player's guide tonight and tie him in a bit better.

Maeve Haela |

Partial application here:
Concept: Maeve spent her early life as one of 'those girls' in Sandpoint. You know the ones, tomboyish and firey, more likely to be roughousing with the boys than playing with her dolls. She learned to hate bullies, although she could often be seen as one with a mean right hook. Her parents, some of the richer merchants of the town, despaired of the feisty little redhead ever coming home without being in need of a new dress. Dance lessons and other attempts to encourage her to comport herself with a bit more grace and charm fitting her station seemed to be doomed to failure, as did efforts to encourage her to wear jewelry.
As she started to grow into her teens, something about her behavior changed. While she settled down and started being willing to wear dresses, she was seen hanging about the Rusty Dragon with growing frequency. As time went on, she started to spend some time washing dishes, then helping in the kitchen and even waiting tables as she got older, eventually even prompting Ameiko to start paying her a wage. But it wasn't until one night when entertainment seemed thin and Ameiko too tired to put in one of her rare performances that Maeve discovered anything like a true calling.
Perhaps unepxectedly, it was in the very dance lessons and street brawls of her early youth that the girl emerged, showing a true talent that night for dance that seemed to border on the miraculous. Her skipping and graceful sweeps from the fighting combined with twirls from dance to form a style no one had ever really seen before in the sleepy city.
While Maeve purposely kept her performances as secret as possible, word spreads fast in a place like Sandpoint. It spreads even faster when a small bar-fight breaks out and you seamlessly blend the finale with knocking out the patrons involved without ever drawing a weapon. Her parents finally had enough and told her to quit her 'part-time job' and consider settling down with someone.
In Maeve's own words – screw that.
In terms of mechanics, I'm not completely sure where I'm going with this. I'm considering bard, possibly a monk of some number of archetypes, or even a Sorcerer with the Maestro bloodline. Even the trait, other than obviously tied to Ameiko given the background, is a bit up in the air as well.

DM NomadSage |

Depending on how you personally rule on Heirloom Weapon, I'd be taking it for Nightfall, but would still get EWP for Bastard Sword to use it one handed (Still two handed since it's large size.)
Character concept sounds cool, but I'm scratching my head over the whole "large bastard sword wielded two-handed" thing. Its either A) a clunky feat-intensive version of a greatsword; or B) clunky way to get a greatsword with more damage. You're also buying a -2 penalty with the large weapon... I'm not sure the tradeoff would be worth it.
What's the background for why the human boy inherits (essentially) a sword forged for an ogre? If there's a good background story to it, I'll allow Nightfall as you describe it. Otherwise, I'd recommend picking a different or normal-sized exotic.

I'd like to put my hand up for this one. I'm DMing Runelords on the boards here, and this one leads directly on from that.
I tend to play Dwarves, and fighters at that. I'll stick with Dwarf this time, but go with a Cleric of Torag instead of fighter. I'll go with the Players guide recomendations and choose Good and Protection domains
Gharzz - Gharzz had been travelling to the temple at Sandpoint when the goblins had attacked. The damnable greenskins came out of the woods like a swarm of angry ants disturbed by some earthpig.
Gharzz was no stranger to fighting Goblins. He had aided the tunnel fighters of his homeclans on more than one occasion, and he'd been shown the ways and tactics to use against the green vermin, but this time there were too many. Spell and hammer, he used them both and felled a few of the beasts before he felt the wounds from their dogslicers draining his strength. As his vision began to fail, he threw a last parayer to Torag, and hoped the little buggers would choke on his flesh when they ate him, as they surely would.
Death never came though, for at that moment an elderly woman appeared beside the dwarf and laid her hand gently upon his arm. He could feel the blessing of her godess wash across him, and many of his wounds were closed. Laughing at the goblins, Gharzz pulled himself together and laid about with abandon, slaying the things while the older woman kept him standing.
When all was clear, Gharzz sank to his knees, exhausted and shaken from how close he had come to dying at the hands of the goblin freaks. The old woman introduced herself as Koya Mvashti, a worshipper of Desna and sometime resident of Sandpoint, the very town for which he was headed.
Gharzz had taken that as a sign from the gods themselves, and he has been staying in town and talking with Koya as often as he could. He owed the woman a life debt, but more than that he respected her for both her age and the wisdom with which she worked her godesses will.
I'll stat Gharzz up if I get chosen, as that can take quite some time :). I've taken the rescued trait from the AP as my background should suggest. Let me know if you need more.
Cheers

Xin vowed to repay the favor and began to train himself in the secret art of ninjitsu.
Cool so far, but self-taught ninja might be a bit of a stretch. If Xin is of Tian descent, maybe a local Tian elder (exile or traveler like Ameiko and her family) takes him in and apprentices him in ninjitsu (a Mr Miagi type thing)?

Yes he is from Tian. I had thought that perhaps his grandpa (whom he does not know) would teach and mentor him.

Kalizkan |

Since that Carrion Crown game seems to be stillborn, I'll throw my hat in too. Currently thinking of a Ranger with the Skirmisher variant (since non-casty Ranger sounds more interesting to me), potentially an Ulfen mercenary-type with the "Caravan Guard" background. I'll flesh it out a bit more in the next few days. Could be a scout type, and potentially go either ranged or melee as need be. I'll post again once I have a more solid concept down.

I'm sorry, guess I wasn't clear. I would use EWP to use it 1 handed, then take the -2 to attacks and move up one size category to make it large, forcing me to use it 2 handed again. It would deal 2d8 of damage and be a large clunky greatsword. It's intentional. The reason he inherits such a sword is because he learned to fight with an oversized sword as a boy, and therefore, when he grew up, he continued to use those previous abilities, which were now useless unless he had a sword to match them. The background is that he was forced to make his first kill in the arena barehanded, and seeing that he can't fight as well without a blade oversized for him, his master had Nightfall forged, specifically very large, for him. Understand? It's not a very optimized choice, but I don't mind, he's not the most optimized character anyhow. Greatblade is effective, but not as effective as he could possibly be. I build characters for flavor, not for optimization.
Still reading the Player's Guide, will get a post integrating him to the story in the morning.
EDIT: Also noting that I wouldn't want the static +1 to Heirloom Weapon, I'm fine with the +1 to AoO's or +2 to CMB to one manuever version, just as long as it's Masterwork.
EDIT 2: Also, as soon as I pick up UC and look at the Titan Mauler archetype, may be going with that if I can. Just a future thought, since it's a Barbarian Archetype built around using too large weapons.

I have supreme interest and this would be the third Jade Regent game I would be applying to try to get into is just that each of these threads ends up with 30 people clamoring to get in. I know applications are needed but the threads stay open so long... sorry had to get that out, the boards have been eating my posts.
I would love to run a cleric. I have one that I was building for Carrion Crown that was an enthusiastic Pharasamite with a focus on channel abilities ad healing. I would need to switch a trait or two. Jirani Shores.
I have also long entertained the idea of a male witch that is designed around a sort of arrogant nobleman persona who disrupts combats with status effects and misdirection.
Maybe one of these sounds worth submitting?

![]() |

I'm a regular poster here on the boards- running a game and playing a couple including a long term game of over 3000 posts. For your consideration:
Heng is somewhat small (only 6’) and soft spoken for a half-orc. As a child, his mysterious Tien father covered him with a living tapestry of warding tattoos including a mystical symbol on his forehead and a stylistic view of a mountain across his back with clouds that wrap around his biceps. All this is plainly visible as Heng normally wears only a loose pair of black pants and a cloak.
His mother was exiled from her orc tribe and his father, a Tien hermit, took pity on her as she lay dying in the snow of the Tusk Mountains. He took her in, saving her life and eventually falling in love with her. Both were later killed by her raiding tribe and Heng fled for his life out of the mountains and to the south. He eventually encountered a caravan from Korvosa and Koya Mvashti took pity on the quiet youth allowing him to travel with them. He feels eternally indebted to her and upon learning of her interest in travelling north; he volunteered as a guard in the hope of finding a way to Tian. He has always wanted to see the land of his father and reclaim the human side of his heritage.
Heng has become very close to Koya and constantly worries about her. Many find the sight of a ferocious half-orc doting on an elderly priestess quite humorous, but Heng appears quite unaware of the oddness of the situation.

Hi NomadSage, I'd like to play in your Jade Regent campaign. I've kicked a few ideas around, and the character that most appeals to me is below.
Introducing Mei Szilani
Mei's is a young monk who has just completed her first years of temple training and is, finally, allowed to travel and discover the world. Her family hails from Sandpoint, and as a young girl Mei was in and out of the Mvashti household. Koya was a second mother, and Niska was a grandma. Mai kept up a correspondence with Niska while away at the Temple, and a bundle of Niska's letters in a scented wooden box is one of her most cherished possessions.
In the last year at the Temple, Mai learned of Niska's death. It was too far to travel for the funeral, and so Mai threw herself into her studies, determined to earn her journeyman status so that she could travel back to Sandpoint. She is glad to be visiting her old home, delighted to see Koya again, and still guilty that she did not come back for Niska's funeral. Mei also has a secret. In one of her last letters, Niska begged Mei that, if Koya ever went on a long trip, Mei would go with her to ensure her safety. In her heart, Mei has made this promise to the spirit of her adopted grandma.
Mei is stern looking and plain in appearance. She can be bossy and demanding, and will often try to organise those around her. This can be off-putting to some, but Mei has only her friends' best interests at heart, and she would give anything to protect those she chooses as family.
Mechanically Mei is a Monk of the Four Winds who will switch between unarmed combat, shuriken, and monk weapons as needed.

And here are her stats. Still need to sort equipment, which will be minimal.

Maeve Haela |

Okay, this should be all the info for the application. Spoilered for length - I'll do equipment and derived statistics some time this afternoon or evening. Any comments are appreciated.

Okay, okay, I'll be fair. I can see the appeal, if you're looking for a dull sort of lifestyle. Have a family, take up a trade of some kind, be generally safe. Well, except from the goblin raids. Don't see that stopping any time soon, even if you can't exactly time them by the noonday sun anymore.
So you're not even safe here, just bored. Maybe running a business, maybe working for someone. Long run, that's not for me.
And yes, my mother and father tell me it's the thing to do. All the time. Local aristocracy, what a joke. This may not be a one-horse outpost anymore, but Sandpoint is still a backwater compared to most of Varisia, and that's nothing compared to what you hear about Absalom, or Cheliax, or Osirion. I want to see them all, one day. But I'll settle for just seeing one of them.
I guess maybe that's why I started hanging out around the Dragon. Really, it's the place in town where everybody stops in, so you hear all kinds of stories. And other things, too, rumors. But I stayed because of Ameiko. She's just...wow. Nice to everyone, fun, keeps the party going when it should be. I remember when she decided to go off and adventure for a bit. I used to pester her about it, I guess. But I didn't like the way it made her look. Not at me, but it kinda seemed to put her off for the whole day afterwards. Eventually, you just stop asking.
Well, most people do. Sometimes I have to yell at the customers who always bother her about a date or dinner or something. I let her answer, but when she says 'no' and they don't listen that's it! I won't let anyone bother her.
That's probably why I've stuck around so long. I know I'm not the best help most of the time, but I get the feeling that she'd be disappointed if I just took off without telling anybody. But if I tell her, she might decide to be “responsible” and then I'd be locked in my room for a year.
But next time there's a goblin raid, I'll show everyone in town just what I can do now. I've been practicing. And then I'll be able to get money together, and get the heck out of town before anyone stops me. And then I'll see all those places and more.
With any luck, I'll even get into some trouble there. Won't that be fun?

Heaven's Agent |

Nomad, what are your thoughts on the Magus' Black Blade archetype? It would essentially create another NPC for you to run, and some GMs simply don't want to deal with the additional work; I want to be sure you would be willing to consider such a character for the group before working on the concept. If not, I can turn my focus elsewhere.

DM NomadSage |

I'll try to keep up with the questions... if I missed one, ping me again!
What are your thoughts on the Gunslinger? Synthesist Summoners? Just throwing ideas out there.
Synthesist Summoners are no problem with me. Gunslingers?... As much as I loved the Dark Tower series, gunslingers are not quite in theme with the Golarion setting. However, I'm not opposed... with a cool backstory, sure!
However I am kicking around another idea...dual repeating crossbow wielding fighter. Think Max Payne.
I would still like him to be an orphan and be saved by Shalelu. I think this could perhaps fit his backstory better. So if I could I would change Xin from a ninja to a fighter.
This too may be in the realm of the gunslinger, vs the fighter.
Nomad, would you let Arcane Strike work with Improved Unarmed Strike?
Sure!
Nomad, what are your thoughts on the Magus' Black Blade archetype?
I think the Blackblade is pretty cool, kinda like a familiar in most respects. I can't say they'd have a heavy role in the campaign, but if you flesh out a personality, I'll do my best to use it when able.

Ryuko |

One more quick question, how do you feel about The Time Thief from Super Genius?
I like it, I think it fits, though obviously they would be rare, and it works rather well for someone self taught. I'd like to play one, but if it doesn't work no big.

DM NomadSage |

One more quick question, how do you feel about The Time Thief from Super Genius?
I'm familiar with the Time Thief, and I'm okay with it. In fact, one character in the game will be using their Vanguard class.

DM NomadSage |

Here's what we've got so far:
- Parity (fflash) - human vanguard [TBD]
- Bryan (Bpa144) - human magus [Hero Worship/Ameiko]
- Xin (Erefine) - human ninja/fighter [Rescued/Shalelu]
- TBD (Ryuko) - TBD
- Maeve Haela (Chris Kenney) - human TBD [TBD/Ameiko]
- Gharzz (Wrath) - dwarf cleric [Rescued/Koya]
- TBD (Kalizkan) - ranger [Caravan Guard/Sandru]
- Jirani Shores (Pirate Devon) - human cleric [TBD]
- Heng (voodoo chili) - halforc monk [Foster Child(?)/Koya]
- Mei Szilani (Art) - human monk [Friend of the Family/Koya]

Ryuko |

Ok, in that case I vote 100% for a human or half-elf Time Thief. Probably human. A young boy who knows he can changeup time, but doesn't understand why. His first memories are wandering into Sandpoint as a boy and he has grown up alongside Ameiko, being her best friend for years. He's a younger man, around 19, and with phenomenal luck that no one seems to be able to understand. A bit more story and a bit of a writeup incoming soon.

Ryuko |

Talhar is an odd boy. He's always been looked at as a rescue by the village, but he seems to be of the opinion that it was destiny. He walked into Sandpoint 15 years ago as a lone 4 year old boy. He has no memory before that. He was adopted by a nice couple and has been getting into trouble ever since. Being close friends with Ameiko, he's learned much of what he knows from the shadier tavern residents. With a charming smile and a disarming sense of fun, Talhar tends to leave people smiling even when he manages to grate. Talhar's hands are often faster than the eye and his powers of legerdemain are often shocking for a boy his age. He is armed at all times, but never obviously, except with his sword cane, which the village knows he bought and thus is useless there, but as Talhar is fond of saying 'One never knows where destiny will take you.' Talhar has only been in combat a couple times, but he tends to be fearless beyond reason when doing so, almost foolishly so. This is because he claims that he has seen his own destiny, he knows how he will die, and everytime he has gone into combat, he knows that today is not that day.
So yes, young, half-elven Time Thief with hidden weapons and good Diplomacy, mostly a face at first, may move toward Disarm/Dirty Trick later on for combat effectiveness.

![]() |

@ Heng ... the Caravan Guard trait should be tied to Sandru. If you want to stick with Koya, maybe Foster Child instead?
Oops, I guess I was reading the ties as a suggestion. No worries though- Foster Child works better. Heng would want to know all about Koya's travels and knowledge of the North Lands. So he'd be a ready student of her geographic knowledge. I'm also wanting to follow the Ki Mystic archetype so I think her ties to Desna would be of keen interest to him. I could see Heng and Koya putting together formal tea times with talks about travels and tea leaf fortune tellings while traveling with the caravan.
Art- monks and grannies, a wonderful thing :)

DM NomadSage |

Dotting for interest. I definitely want to submit a character but I haven't had the opportunity to read through the Player's Guide yet. Do you know when your submission period is going to end, NomadSage?
Not sure yet - depends on how many more apply... already have 8-10! I'm thinking of probably Tues or Wed to make the cut.

Maeve Haela |

Hokay, this should be the finished version, mechanically. Now to just pick out a picture and wait. I decided to go with the bard, based on the idea that she's not a great fighter when she's not currently dancing. Eventually I think I'll take some style feats from UC to beef up that aspect of the character, maybe Crane.

Parity |

NomadSage,
I submit Parity, Human Vanguard:
Parity was born in the Shackles as a fatherless bastard to an imprisoned whore serving her time for cutting the throat of her last john. The young boy was quickly cast aside, never named, and raised by felons and guards alike. As he grew up, on the verge of malnutrition and death, he was able to flee the prison and join the hoards of orphans in the pirate city. At the age of 5, he was caught stealing and had his eyes put out on the whim of a pirate lord. As a lark, they through him into pit fighting, fighting other children to the death. His blindness made him a gross underdog, but somehow the resilient child survived bout after bout, never a champion, but never paying the ultimate price, finally earning his name for coming out even and being accepted as an equal in every fight ... Parity. For years, he was moved from crime lord to crime lord, spending most of his time living in dog kennels or slave pens.
Through these years of slavery and pit fighting, he learned to fight through his handicap and eventually earned his freedom as a young teen. He took the first ship from the Shackles, fleeing the city behind him, and landed himself in Sandpoint where he met the first person in a decade and a half that treated him as a sentient human being with feelings, Ameiko. Whether it was pity, genuine kindness, or a deep-seated fascination in his horrible childhood, Parity never knew, but 2 things happened then. The first was that Ameiko through her own understanding of dabbling in the arcane, helped Parity recognize the arcane talents that fused with his combat styles making him particularly dangerous. The second, was that Parity fell in love with her, the only human to human feeling he's ever had in his entire life. Completely unable to come to terms with it, he's been quiet these past ten years, but he's never far from her.
Personality: Parity, while disarming both in combat and in real life, has a comfortable defusing way about him. Perhaps it's because he can't see anyone, and his constant listening, smelling and feeling gives him a sociable nature. Internally however, he is nigh incapable of connecting with people. His own way of dealing with his childhood was to come to a sense of harmony with the world. For every wrong there is a right, but for every right there must be a wrong. For every birth, a death, and for every death, new life. Parity sees the world differently than others, mainly because he sees it in his own mind, haunted by his own memories of fear, fire, and pain. His crush on Ameiko is inexplicable to him. Before her, the only connection he's ever had was his sword, but perhaps it's the first step to unlocking the rest of his life ...

Mei Szilani |

Some nice characters coming out here. I think the closest proposal we have to an arcanist so far is Maeve, which will be interesting. Oh, or Bryan the magus, but no stats there yet. Couple of 3rd party classes that I've never seen in play before in the Time Thief and the Vanguard. Cleric, ranger, ninja and a pair of monks in the mix.
Heng - looks like Niska and Koya were building a secret monk army. They convinced Mei to head off to a Temple for training, adopted Heng... what were they up to? Dun dun dun!

Could be another one of those Kung Fu armies. If anyone shows up in a yellow jumpsuit though, I'm outta here! :)

Oh there's a thought <shudder>. I for one am not prepared to leave my dismembered limbs behind for some vengeance obsessed psychopath. I'll be one step behind on the running away front, at least until we both hit level 20. Then we kick Uma's butt!

Kvalsir Bjornserkr |

Here’s my (Kalizkan's) application with Kvalsir Bjornserkr. To summarize the “Mechanics” section, I have several ways of working this character out—as a ranger, a druid, or a barbarian. If you would like me to pick only one of them, please let me know, and I’ll start statting it out and let you know which one it is. I’d be happy with any of the builds mentioned, though.
Any feedback is welcome, and please let me know if you have any questions.
However, by eighteen, Kvalsir began to show signs of being touched by Gozreh in his lesser-known aspect as the Beastfather. In battle, he became more animalistic, and his shipmates swore that he grew a bit bigger and hairier when the battle-fever was upon him. Intrigued by rumors that he was were-touched, Kvalsir decided to go a-viking for an extended period of time with the crew of Hrafnr Shortnose, in the hopes of discovering more of his gift away from the longhouses of his kin. After a few successes in raiding Northern Varisia, Hrafnr’s ship ran into some trouble in the Varisian gulf, sinking and leaving the surviving crewmembers without a way home. Still not ready to return to Battlewall, Kvalsir and a few of the others set themselves up as mercenaries, moving from raiding villages to guarding caravans and merchant vessels with surprising ease.
While working as a mercenary, his company made several runs with Sandru Vhiski, and Kvalsir grew to enjoy working with him. Upon hearing that Sandru was planning the long and dangerous trek to Tian Xia, Kvalsir was eager to join up, as it seemed a prime chance for him to learn more about his were-powers and explore lands in which no Ulfen had ever gone a-viking.
There are several ways that I could make Kvalsir and be fairly happy with and, if you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to offer up all of these options (although I can certainly pick one if you’d prefer). He could certainly be a ranger, potentially with the Shapeshifter variant (although I’ll have to think about it more to make sure that it’s actually mechanically viable), but I could also see him as a Druid (perhaps a Bear Shaman with the Ferocity domain) or (although this would be a bit of a stretch)a Barbarian with the Beast Totem line of rage powers. Broadly speaking, the Bear-shifting Viking idea sounds entertaining, and these seem like the best ways to achieve it mechanically (although I could certainly just make him act bear-like in combat).
Edit: Hrrm. It just occured to me that I might be able to pull off this concept with a Synthesist Summmoner as well. Of course, the relative lack of arcane casters had nothing to do with me making this realization... >.> Actually, that's a rather intriguing idea, now that I think about it.

I am going to withdraw my application, I gont into a novice game and I am a PbP novice so I don't want to fight over slots in other games while so many of us want to play. I look forward to seeing what group comes together here, good luck folks!
Okay - thanks for the heads up... have fun!

I am applying for two other Jade Regent campaigns but I may have posted to late. I would like to post one of my concepts here. I only want to join one more game though. So if I get accepted into one of the other two, I will withdraw my app here. That won't be a problem will it?
No problem - better to cover the options for better odds! :) Just keep me informed. I will probably make the final cut tomorrow night (Tuesday) or sometime Wednesday.
