Prestige Classes

No new Prestige classes in Ultimate Combat (or Ulitmate Magic). Are Archetypes center stage meaning Prestige classes will fade away?

Paizo's still doing Prestige Classes, it's just that you mainly find them in the Campaign Setting line. They prefer to use PCs as a means of developing world flavor, which in turn give added flavor/meaning to the PCs themselves.

For example, The Harrower, Hellknight, Red Mantis Assassin, and the released just this week in Inner Sea Magic Cypher Mage. And of course, there's lots more, it's just that using the campaign setting as inspiration for Prestige Classes is the design philosophy Paizo has decided to go for. (which is exactly as it should be, IMO)

There have been been a couple of threads on this already.

Or this one.

Or that one.

I need to pick up Inner Sea Magic. Are they making the Prestige Classes (I wouldnt use the acronym PC for it since PC has long been associated to Player Characters) stronger than in the past?

For prestige classes we use the acronym PrC.

they also said that UC and UM were not canon.... and the AP which I think I saw James Jacobs saying that it was fast becoming canon or something...
I forget and it was not important at the time.

but what the above said is true, find prcs in the setting lines.

on the otherhand.... the advanced races might have some new prcs in it.... but hey time will tell.... we might get archetype instead.
( just dont tell anybody, I hate some of the racial prcs....)
