So I was wondering if people have had the same issue with fluid form as I have. The spells says you can fix through small cracks and holes by stretching your body, so my players say it should allow them to escape being grappled. The spell says nothing about escaping grapple so I wanted to know what others thought and if they have encountered any other spells that conflict with combat maneuvers.

I would say this is a perfect place to invoke a Circumstance bonus as per the skill section for an escape artist check made to escape the grapple. Maybe even a superior one.
Still, there is a spell that does this exact thing; Freedom of Movement. Its not on the Sorc/Wiz list, so I wouldn't necessarily feel pressured to allow them to duplicate it with a different spell.

It sounds like you still have a body, it's just morph-able. So you could probably argue that the form gives you a +2 bonus to the check to escape the grapple, but I don't think you could say that you're immune. A balloon filled with water will stretch, squish, and change shape, but it's still possible to keep a grip on it.

His players are trying to use the squeeze rules to escape. I don't think this is an issue of having an elastic body like that guy from the Fantastic Four.

You're not turning into a bag of liquid... just a liquid
My point was that even though you're turning into liquid, you still have a form.
Beyond that discussion, the spell itself answers the question.
"You are treated as if you had the water subtype while this spell is in effect"
The water subtype does not say anything about getting a bonus versus grapples or being immune to grapples.

Sorry about that. I complete misread your post. What book is this spell in?
