What does Fawtl mean?

Forums are way to long.

Long time ago, someone started a thread complainingg of the length of some of the off topic threads.
It was immediately taken as a challenge and the Fawtlies have attemped to make longer and longer social threads.

Thank you, neil. Even knowing what FAWTL stood for, I didn't know what it meant to have so many threads named for it, and had never even been interested enough to try to figure it out, until I read your post. Now I understand. Now I've finally looked enough into it to make the following sliver of contribution to this discussion...

Link.

And the darnedest thing is that IssacX posted exactly TWICE.

Maybe the insanity of this online community was too much for him. :)

Maybe he watched his thread grow in a direction that scared him, walked away, and never turned back.

If it makes the OP feel better...

I don't know what TL;DR means.

Matthew,

It stands for "Too long; didn't read". It means something like: "In summation"

Thanks! And Matthew, I learned TL:DR just yesterday lol

And I am enlightened. Thank you.

I only learned IIRC and LMAO in the last week. Fortunately, you can find them using google. Well, probably not FAWTL.

Damn internet speak.

Au contraire!

Spoiler:
At least, paizo.com comes up first in that search for me. YMMV.
Spoiler:
Ah, another acronym: YMMV = "your mileage may vary".

All I get is Fawlty Towers. :(

Well, that's not too bad.

Also, I like the fact that the line you can see when you click on your link is:

"Wow, you losers are even more pathetic than I am."

Hee hee!

Are you sure you entered "fawtl" and not "fawlt"?

Actually, I think we do talk about sports on occasion. But the other points are right on.

Also: no religion arguments, no game edition arguments.

We also aren't overly fond of trolls.

It's possible that's what I did.

It tries to direct me to Fawlty Towers, but when I assert myself and insist that, yes, indeed, I want fatwl, it gives me "You losers are more pathetic..."

Yay!
