Ongoing Council of Thieves PBP game needs replacements

Gamer Connection

We're just about to begin part 2 of the Council of Thieves Adventure Path, and are in need of 1 or 2 replacement players.

The game moves fairly quickly, with each player typically posting at least once per day. Ups and downs are to be expected, of course :)

The party currently consists of:
Appario Lind - Human paladin
Derek Keegan - Human bard
Semenya Carbachon - Half-Orc sorcerer

Have a look at our Game Thread and see if this game looks appealing to you :)

Character creation rules are essentially as follows:
3rd-level character
20 point buy
2 traits (1 from the CoT player's guide)
3000 gp worth of items, as per the wealth-by-level guidelines

If you wish to use material that isn't in the Core Rulebook or the CoT player's guide, let me know the book and page and I'll look it over. I have all of the hardcover books and about half of the Chronicles/Campaign Setting/Companion books.

Liberty's Edge

I've discovered that the itch for another PbP has finally become unbearable, and I'd like to give your game a shot if you'd be willing. It looks like you're in need of either a dedicated divine caster or a serious skills-type - I'd be perfectly happy to play either (or both - CoT seems like it might be well suited to an inquisitor...). Though I haven't played regularly in awhile, I was a member of a PbP for more than a year, so I know how they tend to work and have no trouble with the posting schedule.

I would like to volunteer Granor, a Dwarven Cleric of Torag. I will make the character very fast, and will write a bio even faster, it will all be done tomorrow.

As for the feats, i might ask permission to take one or two from the APG, but just maybe.

And another question, Hit points? Average?

Hit points, yes. Knew I forgot something :)

Full hit points for 1st level (as usual). For the second and subsequent levels, you can choose between average rounded up (d6=4, d8=5, d10=6, d12=7) and rolling (reroll 1s).

If we both get in, I'd be happy to make a rogue to go along with Granor.

Liberty's Edge

I'll be playing Maddok Shiikirri-Quah (Maddok of the Hawk Clan) exiled Shoanti turned Westcrown smith. He possess supernatural healing powers (life oracle) but revels in melee combat where his incredible strength and size can be put to good use.

Roll? Is there a rolling system on this forum, or do i roll and you take my word for it?

I think i'll roll with the average, to be fair.

I would like to be a part of this as well. However, I may need a little time to think of a proper character. The party seems to be full of pretty people. I may be the ugly duckling. But I will let you know. :(

There is a rolling system. For instance:

<dice>1d6+2</dice> produces 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 when the < and > are replaced with [ and ].

Ok, then i will roll for HPs, here.

Level 2
1d8 ⇒ 5
Level 3
1d8 ⇒ 3

Ok, so, not to disrupt rolls, i have a few question, and i am asking if it is ok:

I would like to exchange the dwarven greed racial trait with craftsman from the APG. Just seems more appropriate, as Granor is a son of a smith, and will be making magical weapons and armor most probably.

Liberty's Edge

After a bit more thought, I think I'd like to play Niera Tasskara, elven urban ranger and dedicated freedom fighter. Probably archery focused, but able to handle trapfinding as well.

I would like to play Darrius Baradune, a Two-Handed Fighter(APG page108).
He is a rather persuasive, though probably not as good as the rest of the party

The character is done, but i only have to change the racial trait, if you allow it, and if you have any objections, or suggestions about the character Bacground, just tell, and it will be changed to better suit your campaign.

just click on the avatar...

I am intrigued by this campaign, and I can volunteer a number of different characters. I typically play skill and support characters (filling the "fifth man" slot is my specialty), but I am certainly open to filling other roles. Based on the current party, I would enjoy:

- A classic skill rogue with some interesting tweaks
- An alchemist dabbling in some curious archetypes (a very solid knowledge character with a wide variety of party support)
- An inquisitor with a diverse skill set
- A summoner (probably Asmodean) likely to join the Order of the Gate
- An oracle (juju) fresh from the Sargava colony
- A witch dedicated to proving her worth to Hermean talent scouts (emphasizes augmentation and constructive spellcasting over destruction so as to prove she would be a valuable asset)

I know the system and setting well, and I'd be quite open to composing a background that would logically fit into the existing storyline.

Character is pretty much done sans mathing. Click this character's profile.

(This is Feral)

While not a requirement, being able to move quietly, and having a decent Perception roll, are both VERY useful.

Semenya's Player.

I'd be happy to take this into account. I am most appreciative of a party that values subtlety, stealth, and adept reconnaissance.

I play Appario and I love this party and my fellow players. This judge is very good and game flows like wine from his words into my mind. (Or something poetic like that.)

I care not about the party balance, but prefer the strong character and roleplay.

If you come into this game, bring thy "A" game, I will give no less nor accept any less.

I would not think of giving anything less then my best when it comes to roleplay...

The character is done. Just click the profile.

And in reponse to Painlord. I will do my best.

(This is Amazing Red BTW)

(This is Caepio, who is still pondering the avatar image)

I hope I didn't send the wrong message earlier in regards to role-playing vs. character sheet configuration. I trust you'll find my style to your liking.

The associated profile has all of my character information. DM Are, I played around with a few Pathfinder sources with the aim of making something interesting and different from what I might otherwise play. Let me know if any elements (archetype, race, etc.) are not to your liking.

All done and mathing is complete. Check out the profile.

Semenya is about half of a Rogue - she's got Stealth and the Big Four Charisma based skills. (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, UMD).

If you read through the "Niche/Party Role" part of her profile, her niche tends to be recon and communication, with heavy use of the Message cantrip. Subtlety and trickery are good...and when the time comes she will eventually be able to do something more useful in combat than flick globs of acid at people. :)

However, Semenya makes a much better ASSISTANT to a sneaky person than she does as the infiltrator. She can't really detect traps, move quickly under stealth or overcome locks short of using a greataxe on them. She can be the lookout who buys you time...

When this game started, we had a character named Delwood Vane who had an intertwined backstory with Semenya's - they were both, effectively, private eyes in Westcrown.

Ask yourself what's caused your character to join the Gardeners of Westcrown. If you are potentially interested in doing so, there's a whole raft of minor NPCs in the movement who might be relatives of yours, or could be rewritten as your character.

For example, we recently prevented someone from muscling in in a local weaponsmith. I doubt that anyone would object to said weaponsmith being retroactively edited to be your character. :) Similar things could be done with some of the other NPCs out there, I suspect.

I was actually going to suggest that to the DM if he was okay with Maddok joining in.

i have an idea for a female Tian rogue. i was thinking descended from an immigrant family from Minkai.

Yamiko, apprentice to the westcrown assassin's guild.

she is a spy, sent from the assassin's guild to keep the other PCs under survielance. she could join at any moment.

Asasha is a Rogue (acrobat) i really like who's been involved in the start of two campaigns which died :( (see profile)

She would be pretty easy to bump up to lvl 3 and integrate through an NPC or other character (e.g. sibling, cousin etc?) - very good for recon with high Acrobatics/Stealth...?

In reading your character's profile - I do not think you mean meters when discussing his height. 4 meters is 13 feet tall; 6 meters is roughly 20 feet tall. :)

A friend pointed that out to me a minute ago. Fixed.

Well, Darrius has heard rumors of missing persons and inexplicable thefts in his home town. So I was thinking that while investigating these happenings, he comes upon the Gardener's in action and decides to approach them. Unless of course someone has a better hook, I'm flexible.

And for the record, if it was not obvious, Darrius would be the muscle. He is a history buff so he knows a few random things which may help, but his approach is otherwise very direct. Break things, either bad guy's weapons or bad guy's faces.

I'd like to throw my helmet into the ring for consideration. :)

Bryant Markhale is a true devotee of Shelyn -- an artist who has taken to wearing her symbol around his neck and singing her praises to whomever will listen, whether through song or paintings. Even in Cheliax, works of music an art are appreciated, and can earn you positive favor ... which can sometimes be used to help the cause of good, even without the knowledge of the person giving you their favor.

So far, luck -- whether his own or Shelyn's divine boon -- has kept him from making any major enemies, but a couple of his colleagues have not been so lucky, and one recently vanished. Having heard of a group of people quietly investigating these strange disappearances, Bryant has taken to quietly trying to locate these people in order to offer his services.

Human, Cleric 2/Bard 1 [Magician archetype, if APG archetypes are allowed]. His niche will likely be ... helping. Whether with his skills or his sometimes-infectious good luck, Bryant likes to be of assistance whenever he can.

I'm going to be making a decision this evening among those who have already submitted characters, and then get things rolling pretty soon after that.

Granor: Craftsman is fine.

Okay. I'll make this short and sweet :)

Hama/Granor, Feral/Maddok and Caepio/Yahirma are in. That makes the party a little divine-heavy, but I doubt anyone will complain about a little extra healing now and then. You can head on over to the OOC Thread and we'll get you up to speed and introduced to the rest of the party.

Everybody else, thank you very much for your interest :)
