Since there was a LOT of interest gauged for this, I will open a recruitment topic.
Again, I will warn any recruits that I am currently running two APs and one module, and am a player in 4 APs, and as such I will not devote the same attention to this as I am to those. That doesn't mean I will neglect this, but if the pace picks up in any of the aforementioned APs I will be prioritising them over this.
Having said that, here are the creation guidelines.
• Races: Most humanoid races will be allowed, as long as they are small or medium. I will not allow races with level adjustments.
• Classes: All classes (Base and Prestige) from the Core Rulebook, APG and Ultimate Magic will be allowed. Ultimate Combat Playtest will be allowed. Psionics Unleashed will be allowed.
• Alignment: I will allow all alignments except NE and CE.
• Ability Scores: Characters must be created with 20-point buy.
• Feats: Any feats from the Core Rulebook, APG, UM, UC (Ultimate Combat), PU (Psionics Unleashed) and Godling-related feats will be allowed. I will also allow Bestiary feats.
• Traits: Characters will start with three traits. One of these must be campaign-related traits - however, you get to make these in tandem with me so they fit your character.
• Hit Points: Characters will start out with Maximum hit points for their class at 1st level.
• Starting Gold: Characters will start with maximum gold for their class.
I will recruit five players for this.
Now, this will be even more important: since nothing apart from the generic storyline is set in stone - that is, destroying the plot crystals to save the world - the world's geography, backstory and societal norms are not determined. However, I will be consistent and every statement that makes it as "fact" will not later be randomly retconned.
One criteria is that you all must know one another - either through blood relations, friendships, apprenticeships, ect.
Also, to fulfill the stereotypical cliche, your age must fall between 15 and 30, regardless of race. If you want to be older, I need to know why.
Any questions? If not, feel free to submit your characters. I don't know when this will start, but we'll see what happens. This will also be a good topic to muse the assumptions of the world. I have thoughts, but I will address them when you ask.

Well for me, I've got a preservation vivisection alchemist who wishes to usher in a new race.
Keeping with the stereotypes, I elect myself to be the animal mascot character :P
Which would mean..
Some monster race that is some sort of animal, preferably something dog like.
Lupins from 3.5
A tiefling, using the stuff from council of thieves.
or a half-orc that I take a bunch of stuff to make beastly.
Or lastly, I make a character using the human statistics, and while he is human mechanically, he ain't.

Frum is a young gnome of 30 who has dabbled in alchemy for about 15 years, and is a type of wunderkind with it. He managed to get a hold of one of these crystals to play around with, and discovered that when liquified it seemed to suck the life out of green plants. Interested by this, he did more tests, and found that the release of magic in the crystals steals life from lower organisms near it, perhaps, he theorizes, as the catalyst for the magical effect. Concerned at first only with retaining credit for his discovery, Frum told nobody. Now, his concern has grown and he is trying to find others who know about this destructive property of the crystals without giving away what he has found. He doesn't have it all figured out, just a few clues and a bad feeling.
Frum is highly intelligent and curious and talented at alchemy. He is lawful Good, but is a gnome and has a bit of trickster in him that gives him a bit of a chaotic streak, although this never crosses any deeply held ethical lines. Or if it does, he will feel horrible about it.
If invited, i'll build the character with more specifics.

Meh, I'll post his info, for now.
Skender was a small child, often bullied. Born the son of a harlot, he was never given a chance to fit in. His neighbors and classmates held much bias against both him and his mother. His father had left when he was 4, after finding out that his wife was cheating with his best friend. He bottled his emotions, letting them fester in the recesses of his mind, where they were concentrated. After some counseling, he was able to control his hate to the point that they were beginning to show tangibility. He has since refined this process, and can now summon these fairly quickly. They appear as swirling, foggy memories to him, and as red, pulsating blades to those around him.

Hey, that's me! I've grown up to be a pretty big guy, considering how tiny I was.

Stuff
Well, there's always the tengu for your humanoid animal needs. Or lizardfolk. Or gnolls.
Stuff
If the plot crystals are indeed crystals - it could be a shard. I'm imagining, if crystals, enormous chunks of differently coloured crystalline stones.
Nice concept, in any case.
So far we have
Ævux - Alchemist with desires to create a new species (or several)
Edgar Lamoureux - Skender Ruggova
Qi - Alchemist?

Coross Kelson was sent a mysterious blade left to him by an eccentric uncle. He then began having strange recurring dreams about magic and the true nature of the world.
He is a Bladebound Magus, PAtcher, you said in the other thread that I could have my black blade at first level without the mechanical benefits yet, right? Should I take the heirloom weapon trait for this then?
Character being rolled up now.

Is it cool if, for backstory purposes, you and I are childhood friends. Like, you were the only one who gave me a chance as a kid?

You don't have to take the heirloom trait for it, though the benefit of both is a bit cheesy (and I won't disallow it).

I was hoping for him to be a rogue with alchemy skills

Qi - Vivisectionist is essentially that, I reckon. Were you going to multiclass or?
Skender and Coross: What about some campaign trait encompassing your friendship? "The sane one" and "the risky one" or something to that effect? Trait bonuses to attack or damage or saves during particular conditions when you're within sight of one another?

Interesting, and I think it's perfect, although I'm not entirely sure which one would be the the "Sane" one.

By the way, what is the general racial demographic for wherever we are starting? I would like to know so I can choose a reasonable language.
Also have we decided anything about the cultures. If not, I'd like to suggest a mostly human country famous for it's powerful nobility and weak king. However a generation ago a strong king came to power and took authority back. I would be decended from a now impotent noble house, although I was sent off to boarding school and then disowned at some point.
I'd also like this nation to be famous for long bombastic names such as Coross' full name in his profile.
| Skender Ruggova |
I'll do mine too!
There seem to be a few formatting errors. I suggest you save the pdf on, say, your desktop, and then upload it directly to GoogleDocs.
| Patcher |
No need. Ævux needs to fix the formatting of his upload, as it is currently unreadable. I do prefer profile sheets, but pdfs work too.
As for racial demographics, I'd say a racially diverse city would work best. I honestly just recommend common, and otherwise... the languages don't have to be decided yet.
So far the applications are:
Coross Kelson (Human Soulknife)
Skender Ruggova (Human Bladebound Magus)
Darche Schneider (Human Vivisectionist)
Frum (Gnome Rogue/Alchemy/something in those veins)
Shane Gifford (Tiefling Cleric of "Nethys")

my plan was to have my character start off as a rogue at level one, and either stay in that, or multiclass as a wizard as we learn more about the crystals and he falls deeper and deeper into the mysteries (if that is acceptable to you and opportunities arise in the storyline.) I was thinking about just letting the game go where it does and improvise a little.
Also, where is Harmor? I was going to try to play a pbp game with him!? (i'll ping him and hope you have room for one more)

You have the freedom to do such.
I haven't seen Harmor. He's still welcome.
