Alchemist throwing stuff

Rules Questions

Alchemist's Bombs and other splash weapons deal +int damage on a hit and splash damage if any so

with a 18 int at level 2 with explosive bomb discovery, point blank shot:

2d6+5 damage on direct hit
10 splash damage reflex 15 for 1/2

for a Flask of Acid:
1d6+5 damage on direct hit
10 splash damage

Under the Throw Anything Text it says you do +int modifier damage to splash weapons and splash effects.

thats crazy good if I am reading it right.

Not quite. I'm not sure where you're getting the 10 splash damage from. Splash damage is the minimum damage for the bomb. So in your example it would be 2d6+5 bomb 2+5=7 splash damage. And for the acid would be 1d6+5 and 1+5=6 splash damage. Though many will argue that the PBS damage bonus shouldn't apply to the splash, I usually allow it.

your way makes sense too, i was thinking

minium damage for 2d6+5 is 6 damage than you add int modifier which is 4
to get a total of 10 damage splash

The minimum damage of rolling two d6 die is 2. The +5 is the Int bonus, although I'm not sure where you got +5 with an Int of 18.

I think you got confused from this line:

(so if the bomb would deal 2d6+4 points of fire damage on a direct hit, its splash damage would be 6 points of fire damage)

+4 Int +1 Point-Black I guess

That makes sense.

A barbarian can hit for more and forever at that level.

Assume greataxe and 18 strength. +4 from rage, for a total of 22, or +6.

1d12+6. That's already 12.5 damage on average. Throw in power attack for 15.5 damage, and he can do it for more than 5 times a day.
