reforming is hard. sometimes, one slips back to thier old habits. i am seeing a rehab group for this sort of thing, but they aren't helping very well.
Weekly William's M rated campaigns are the only real local group in the area i can reliably meet with my schedule and lack of proper transportation. and i have friendships with all of the other players, even if Weekly William requires you to suspend all social taboos.
all sorts of graphic things happen, and there is no real way to stop it. we pimped a goat to some half orc. and Will went along with it. because, he encourages, and even sometimes forces such things to happen.
he sexualizes anything that enters his campaign. even the pack animals you spend a few gold pieces to have carry your stuff.
the contents of these highly sexualized campaigns and playing them for years can explain some of my taint.
i think after the long time i spent in this campaign, that it will skew one's view of what is and what isn't appropriate.
If you feel your therapist isn't helping you, then perhaps you may want to find a different one. Unless you are in a place where there is only one therapist and you have no other options, there is nothing that says you can't seek help from someone else. ALL therapists are different as they all have different personalities, different schools of thought, etc.
Also, as someone else said in the thread, therapy is what you make of it. Therapist are not going to work harder than you towards YOUR goals.

if i propose a character who even remotely resembles a child in any way, sometime during the future upon these boards, expect me to ask the DM for permission, and expect the background to be a great deal less explicit, unless i ask DM permission and hide the explicit parts behind a spoiler. which will hopefully be glossed over.

I was the same, except until this thread I assumed the poster was a female and a minor who really did understand how she came across. I have a little bit different view of the poster, learning that is an adult male.

This board is not populated by professional therapists, and posts using as if it were are exactly the kind of posts that elevated you from 'that weird dude' to 'the creepy guy'. (Yes, that is how I refer to you in other places, and everyone always knows exactly who I'm talking about.) You aren't looking for help, you want attention. (IMO. I suppose I could be wrong.)
You want to not be the creepy guy? A few suggestions.
1) Stop posting with this alias. STOP. Now. And don't return to it. This alias has been associated with your creepiness for too long and you will never get away from that baggage while you continue to use it.
2) Create and use an alias named Bill or Fred or 'Bison That Meows At The Wind'. Something that is not sexualized at all and use it as your default. Hell, I'd bet if you ask, PMG or Ross could lock some aliases so the could not be used at all.
3) Refrain from posting anything sexual or flirtatious in nature. Period. PbPs, Off Topic, where ever. Just. Don't. Do. It.
These are just ideas. Maybe not even good ideas, but it doesn't matter. I doubt there will be any real, lasting change in your behavior.

While I haven't seen the thread in question (I've been away from the boards for a month or three), I can sympathize with those who are unnerved by posts from certain users. When I don't care for a poster's style I tend to simply ignore that user, and refuse to give them attention by responding to their posts. If they really become a nuisance (ex. prolific spamming) I take "ignoring" a step further, and block them with an ignore script in Greasemonkey.
To speak in specifics instead of generalities, I have also been discomforted by posts from Shuriken Nekogami, though he is not currently on my Greasemonkey ignore list simply because he and I don't frequent many of the same sub-forums. I think his in-character and out-of-character posts include a level of personal/sexual content that is inappropriate - not in general (I'm certainly no prude), but specifically to the Paizo gaming forums.
I don't know what the solution is here, to be honest.
It's obvious that Shuriken has some real-life difficulties that he's struggling with (while I'm not one to push therapy, I feel morally obligated to urge anyone contemplating any kind of self-harm to seek the advice and assistance of a competent friend or professional), and I think that our virtual community is compassionate enough not to simply shun him and lock him out.
That being said, the creation of this thread and the number of people chiming in certainly shows that at least a few users' experiences here are being made less enjoyable by Shuriken's contribution, and if a single user is causing a significant disturbance, something does need to be done about it.
TL;DR - Shuriken Nekogami's posts bother me as well, but I think we should hesitate to flame and/or ban him, and instead work toward a solution wherein everyone can enjoy posting here.

Where did he ask for assistance? He just said he's in therapy which hasn't provided any results for him.
As cold-blooded as this may sound, his problems aren't mine, and I shouldn't be forced to confront his foibles and little act because he offers some pretense of attending therapy.
The bottom line is that these messageboards are an online interactive community for a business purpose. If this guy is weirding people out, then he's being counter-productive to this boards existence, and should be forced to go without this board until such time as it's proven that he can handle being on a messageboard without being creepy.

If this has been a common line of thought an play style for him for several years, as it sounds from his posts above, then his mind is probably in the habit of thinking that way, or conditioned to that type of thoughts and playstyle. If so, it's not something one can easily just stop doing.
In fact, many people have an easier time breaking a physical addiction to a substance than a bad habit, which is just a thought pattern basically.
Myself, used to do a lot of addictive drugs. Quit them all cold turkey, no problems whatsoever. Had physical withdrawals, but had no problem resisting the urge yo go get high again.
Also had serious anger issues for years and years. Would stew over stuff for days, loosing sleep, not eating right, literally being hot-blooded (sweating while wearing a terabyte and shorts while it's in the low 40's). all due to anger issues. Had a much harder time changing the way how I thought and reacted to situations. Took years of diligent work, but succeeded without seeing any therapist or taking any medications.
So i guess what I'm trying to say is the guy has said he is going to try and correct his behavior, so while you don't have to help him by any means, why spite the man.

Well said. Threre's a reason the Cold Turkey method tends to be the overall best one. It proves a willingness to change as well as a willpower necessary to do it. A lot of people can't, it's true, but for those that can, it moves beyond simply quitting some form of bad behavior and moves towards life affirming.

If you're serious about change, then change. Drop this alias, make a new one, do not draw any attention to the fact that you were once this person that you desire not to be any longer. If someone brings it up, just say that you've moved on and would prefer not to talk about it.
The only thing you get from letting people drag you back through this mire over and over is a certain level of infamy. Continuing to post from an alias that has so many negative connotations for so many people only serves to draw attention to everything you say you're trying to get past. First, there are some of us who still think it's a hoax.
Second, if it's not a hoax, the venue of sound advice this board can offer is infinitesimal, to the point the notion of removing temptation for people to offer bad or over-reaching advice is fairly compelling.
Third, it's highly counterproductive to anyone looking at the community and thinking that it's mature, because it's the sort of posting that verifies the worst sort of opinion of gaming and gamers.

Has he in the past made a similar commitment to try and reform his ways and not kept it? If so then I could maybe understand not wanting to offer him a chance to fulfill his commitment. But otherwise it's very similar to saying "I don't think you can drive very well, so please Mr. Government, don't let this person get a driver's license, based solely on my opinion."
And before you bring up the fact that they have standardized testing for that, we have a form of a test as well.
