Goblin gunslinger / alchemist build help

Advice

i had an idea of a goblin gunslinger alchemist character, but i am no good with non melee builds, any ideas or help would be nice, work with a 20 point buy and 5th level maybe 3 levels gunslinger and 2 levels alchemist focused on bombs, i would like his gun to be a blunderbuss.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Is this for a PC? and NPC? Where is the goblin going to get a gun that works? they cant even take care of their dog slicers which always have the broken condition? Whats a broken gun, with the broken condition a club?

The build is difficult, 2nd level alch gets discovery, 4th level gunslinger gets bonus feat.... hmmmm

they way I would go with it, is to have the goblin take feral mutagen discovery. This way he gets claws and biting, which both makes for nasty goblin and gives him so up close and nasty if needed.

For feats, of which he has three:
Dodge, mobility, deft shootist.

Yea rapid reload isn't in there, which is why Im really tempted to go after gunslinger 4 for the other feat.

In fact if I were to do it, I think I would take the rapid reload over the feral mutagen, since you want to throw bombs anyway and 2nd level doesn't do anything for your bombs. the bomb discoveries aren't that good until you get up in levels as a alchemist.

that'd be my suggestion dodge. mobility, deft shootist, rapid reload for your goblin gunslinger 4/alchemist 1.

its a PC i am considering as a back up character in case my current character dies. i don't really care about using mutagens that much i am really into the alchemist for the bombs more than anything, honestly i might go less gunslinger and more alchemist the things i really want from the gunslinger are the gun the grit and the high HD and base attack, what i want from the alchemist is the bombs and poison and potions

Neither of those classes multiclass particularly well (outside of a one level dip) and i don't see how they synergize with each other. Try a gunslinger with the alchemy skill of an alchemist who keeps a gun in reserve for when he's out of bombs.

I'm playing a Goblin Gunslinger/Alchemist. I went into it intending to shoot bombs from my gun for extra damage. From personal experience, bombs are just not very good. I do better damage with a full attack, even without dex to damage from five levels in Gunslinger(I only have 1 level of Gunslinger). Lately I've almost been feeling like the levels in alchemist are practically wasted. The best thing Alchemist has been bringing to my character is the 2nd level infusion, Alchemical Allocation. Being able to reuse a single, high level, potion of Magic Weapon and Magic Vestment is REALLY nice.

Depends on what you want to do, and what you want to focus on.

Frankly, the two classes don't synergize well, and firearm use is a very difficult fighting style to use. Gunslingers essentially spend their entire class just OVERCOMING the obstacles needed to use firearms. That being said, they are very powerful in the right hands. Unfortunately, that usually means a single class Gunslinger, or a level 5 gunslinger "dip." Possibly a one level dip just to get the Quick Clear Deed and firearm proficiency and crafting is not a bad idea, but your firearms won't deal enough damage to be worth using them over Longbows.

Explosive Missile, which is a 4th level Alchemist Discovery, is kind of sweet for a Gunslinger 1/Alchemist X build, since it loads the firearm as part of the action.

If you don't like the bombs aspect of Alchemists, may I suggest an Investigator? They trade off Bombs and some of the more fantastical discoveries for great skill buffs, and the best class steroid in the game. Studied Combat is INSANE level 6+, bringing your BAB and Damage up to par with single class martials. With Enlarge Person and Mutagen, you will usually surpass martials at their own game.
