I'm designing a monk character and wanted to know if Ryu was still a valid character concept in pathfinder as it was at the end of 3.5.
Preferably I'd want to use only material that was PFS legal, but that's not a hard stop. Any of the core races (and most of the bestiary races) are fine, but I have a preferance for humans.
For anyone not familiar with the character I'm referring to this is a sample of his special abilities.

HADOKEN!
You can't really shoot fireballs but a Shuryoken wouldn't be far off with the variant for the Elemental Fist monk from the APG. I'd talk to your DM about being able to throw fireballs as a monk, sounds fun and amusing to me. 'Lo the days of watching too much DBZ...

You are converting a character from a video game into Pathfinder stats, after all.
But you might want to look at a couple of feats in the 3.5 PHB2, Fiery Fist and Ki Blast. They're not PFS approved, but they get you the general feel of one of the students of Gouken.

Seriously?!
Ok, let me rephrase... I would like to make NotRyu, a monk who has one or two abilities similar to those seen in various asian themed media, that I hope is already in PFS legal materials, but is absolutely not Ryu from the street fighter series.
I have no intent on converting any materials from any other game system, video, PnP, or otherwise into the design of this character, however, I would like advice on how such a character may be implimented in the pathfinder game system

Not Pfs legal either, but the Magic devotion feat from 3.5 let you create a energy ball (It had a range of 30 ft +5 ft per 2 character levels and dealt 1d6 points of damage per 2 character levels you possessed). You could use it once per day for free and could sacrifice a daily use of tun undead (channel energy) for another use.

domain:
You could multi-class Monk and Cleric. Pick up the Air subdomain: Wind to gain the ability to throw blasts of "force" (air) at your opponents Hadoken style. Pick up another interesting domain power to round out your repetoir.
Monk/cleric also allows you to gain good cross class versatility with high wisdom, and grants you access to a number of spells that could simulate powers shown by anime martial artists, even at low levels (Divine power, magic weapon, and Shield of faith all come to mind).
I had a monk/cleric of Shelyn appear as an NPC in one of my home games that used this approach. By using a bit of flavorful descriptions on what his spellcasting looked like, the PC's had no idea what class he actually was for 6-7 sessions. He was modeled after classic anime style martial artists/mystics that could cure with a touch, channel strange powers, and augment themselves through "Meditation" (Ie spellcasting). Also with high wisdom, decent Dex, and the dodge skill, his AC was pretty high for a wantering mystic who apparently wore no armor.
